Scorpiox Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Agreed, this separation in the party will get us nowhere. Wren strives for chaos, and even in a battle against a floor, she manages to achieve it. I nod and give Haldor a Grand Tonic Haldor nods. "Thank you, brother, I appreciate your untarnished faith in me. It seems that everyone is far too eager to judge, these days." He then casts luck on Cronk until he is successful, but will (grudgingly) attempt the same thing on Nyx with any remaining turns if he deems that she deserves it. Quote
Pandora Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 but will (grudgingly) attempt the same thing on Nyx with any remaining turns if he deems that she deserves it. Nyx sighs, shaking her head. "I didn't actually call you a fool Haldor, I was referring to Arthur, but never mind. You take umbrage if you want, I'm going to focus on getting through this floor." Quote
CMP Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 "Ya' know, things were less chaotic when we were fightin' Chaos Beasts. Just pick a letter and hit him as hard as you can...this is just insane." Atramor pops open one of the crates before his attempt at healing, looking for the rum he desperately needed. Quote

Flipz Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Nyx sighs, shaking her head. "I didn't actually call you a fool Haldor, I was referring to Arthur, but never mind. You take umbrage if you want, I'm going to focus on getting through this floor." "I see. The fool whose brilliant plans won so many battles in Dastan. The fool whose designs formed fully half of the defense of Bric'bay. The fool who successfully defeated a god, who predicted we would be coming here long, long ago, who remains the only one here who has any sort of understanding about what Wren wants. The "fool" who knows there will be a price for success as much as failure. Perhaps you are right, perhaps I am a fool--a fool for allying myself with the likes of those who, despite direct and intimate experience with cosmic forces beyond the understanding of most mortal men continues to believe in closed-minded stereotypes of Chaos. Order is not ultimate good, Chaos not ultimate evil. It's more complicated than that. The Gray Wizard understood this, understood that Chaos and Order are both essential parts of a whole. I have offered my wisdom, my experience, my utility freely in spite of constant aspersions against the fundamental tenets of my life and philosophy, have had to deal with my fellow Heroes tarring me with the same brush they use against psychopaths and murderers. Make no mistake: I am fighting for the redemption of Chaos, I am living proof that the very force we fight against need not be used for evil. I have proved my worth and loyalty many times over, both here AND in Ennon. I have offered you and Cronk both great respect and obedience, far greater than your actions toward me would warrant from any other man, and still you insist on insulting me, tossing my expertise casually aside like a broken blade. Well, this blade is far from broken, and one day one day you will see it cut through the lies and illusions you cling through so tightly, to reveal the truth of this world to the world. Insult me all you want, it does not change the fact that you are wrong about me, and one day, when the truth is revealed, you will know the regret of it in your heart. Zane had it right; the one named the fool is in truth the wisest of all." Quote

The heroes see that his wounds still plague him badly. "We'll need to think of a way down," says Felton, chewing on his lip, his eyes screwed up in concentration. <No time! You said this was the way down, Felton! I trust you! Let's go get us some baddies!> Poletad hops over the edge of the gash in the ground and disappears into the dark immediately... the others watch with concern. Felton calls down after him but gets no response. "Ah, what the Hel, I say we go for it." What will the heroes do? Quote

Thothwick, I'd like to apologise for the little, well it wasn't a misunderstanding, but I regret it all the same. Nyx, I can see that you're a very, forceful, lady, I don't plan in getting in your way anytime soon, ha. It that's all settled, we can get on this buisness." The nord produced a bottle of smelling salts and some cheap ale from behind his back. "You see, it's times like these that I'm glad for my ale. Well, ain't much left to do now, who wants to go first?" Haldor takes a long swig of alcohol and peers down into the depths. After very minor deliberation, the shaman prepares himself for whatever might lie ahead. "Ah, bloody hell. Hope I don't land on our amphibian friend down there. You're all welcome to some of this stuff once you join me." He grins, and casually sidesteps over the hole. A loud clattering noise is heard as Haldor disappears from view. We should not enter this abyss as enemies, any of us. Thothwick, we have not said much of the battle against Zee - and I thank you for this - but apologies, I feel, are still due. I am sorry for my perhaps rash actions. I only hope you can forgive me. Arthur, all of us have had are disagreements. Despite this, however, know that you are a friend - if not a brother - to me. Let us not bicker in this pit, but rather face Wren with one force. Let us descend now - one force, one army, united in the defeat of Wren. Let us show her the meaning of fear and despair. Today is a day she shall not escape from, and even if she does it shall be etched in her very flesh through scar and broken bone. Descend now, not as heroes, regulators, paladins or guards - descend now as the Legion of Justice, united in our single task. Tonight, blood shall be spilled. Heroes will rise. Wren will fall. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Thothwick stared into the pit that several of his comrades had plunged into, including the Norseman, who did so before Thothwick could reply to his apology. However, another hero approached, intending to do the same. Thothwick, we have not said much of the battle against Zee - and I thank you for this - but apologies, I feel, are still due. I am sorry for my perhaps rash actions. I only hope you can forgive me. "My dear sir, even the best of us act brash and brazen in bad times, and these might be the worst of all. All is forgiven, my good sir." Thothwick shoke hands with the young Duplovian. Gazing at his fellow heroes still on the surface, Thothwick saw them making preparations to jump. Turning back to the hole, Thothwick's thoughts centred on the future. Thoughts of friendship, of everlasting bonds between his companions on his Quest .Thoughts of the mighty Dragons, Smaragdea, friend to the Dragon Lord throughout the years, and of Mr. Ableswords, lucky kinship with Viperia. Thoughts of smiles yet found, and emotions yet felt, with Hoptet, who has not been at the forefront of Thothwick's mind, since his departure several hours ago. Thoughts of the future, and it's sudden uncertainty. "So. This is, as they say, 'it'." Thothwick stood up, his gaze fixated on the blackness beneath him. "May Orang Pendek, guide us." Thothwick jumps. Quote
