Nyx steps back into the back row, drawing out her brand new Diamond, and holding her Book to her chest to act as a conduit (or offensive weapon should the opportunity arise) for Light magic, focusing the force of her thoughts on Chaos Beast D, reasoning that if Dyric did indeed assassinate it she could quickly switch to Chaos Beast A with Atramor.

The battle begins, and it is hectic. The Chaos Beasts and heroes trade blows. Arthur fires off a shot, but Dyric is unable to as a Chaos Beast sweeps his hammer down on the assassin. The Chaos Beast fighting Hans stabs each and every member of the party. Alexis and Hoke shoot beams of light, that successfully hit their targets, but blind Nyx, who stumbles backwards as an axe gashes open her leg. Skrall, Haldor and Cronk lead a successful charge, and even Bennetton scores a hit, though Gnash is knocked roghly on the helmet and falls into the mud. Thothwick narrowly escapes a slash by hiding behind one of the stone pillars. He hears the axe meant for him smash into the rock in front of him. Poletad prays, and the entire party feels slightly restored.

"My word, very narrow escape!" Gasped Thothwick, leaping out from behind a pillar to attack Chaos Beast E, with his Sabre, from the front row.

"Dang beast. I'm no help here. But let's try the attack again."

Atramor pauses mid-attack, the slit in the first Chaos Beast's helmet emnating a sickly orange glow. His own eyes glimmering the same color, he glances back at the party.

"Hmm....I say we do the same basic thing, but ignore the Master, and pile on Beast A if you're injured. Bennetton can null the Master's free hit, and my Hex will keep the first one from harmin' us. Just be sure to put him first in the order, Skrall."

With that, he again flicks the Cat 'o' Nine Tails at Chaos Beat A from the front row.

Haldor is a Shaman, so his Critical hit should be an Extra Critical hit. :wink:

Haldor pulled back his axe from the neck of the chaos beast, its head dripping steamy black liquid onto the sodden ground. The weapon's handle felt oddly warm and living to the touch, as though it masked a hidden heart, beating in glory for the first strike. The nord could not deny that it was unlike any weapon that he had wielded before.

"Everyone doing all right for health? Good, then I can set to finishing this monster off."

The shaman lunged forward for another sweep at the neck Chaos Beast C, from the front row.

"I did say when I hit..." Nyx mutters again.

"Thank you once more, Sir Poletad!" she calls to her favourite frog, knowing he would understand the sentiment if nothing else.

"Let's try this again." she says, once more muttering.

Nyx once more tries to channel Light energy through her book at Chaos Beast D from the back row, with the proviso that she'd switch to another similar beast should her target have fallen by the time of her attack.

I'll try for B, in the hopes of assassinating one of the stronger ones.

Gah! Meant B! But apparently Dyric's got that one, too, so...

Seeing as he didn't feel like dredging up Haldor's entire past in the first fight of the Quest again ( :poke: ), Arthur switched to target Chaos Beast A with the others.

Hoke leapt forward with the diamond clenched in gloved fist. With all of the power he could muster, Hoke punched towards the chaos beast. A surge of blinding light slashed the beast, eliciting an angry howl from the otherwordly monstrosity.

Hoke repeats his action.

"Cronk, can you and Hans keep that Chaos Beast A spinnin' from the front. Triad fetch that blade of yers. Captain go fer their Master from the front. McColt try encouragin' Hoke."

Skrall reeled back as the Chaos Beast swung its ax at him, however his heavy armor had absorbed most of the blow. "Not a bad investment after all," he thought to himself.

"Atramor, pull out that flail of yers and hit that master beast. All spell casters focus yer fire on the master, the rest of us will take care of his companions. Cronk, you cover the casters and go for the master as well from the front. Hans, you take that second to last one from the front as well. The rest of ya, let's finish off that last demon, Bennetton, Triad, yer with me, but use that blade of yers from the front row."

OoC: Yeah. I actually screwed up the first time too, Bennetton should have dealt +1 damage before multipliers because there's one other guard in the fight, so I've put that statistic in! Atramor's eyes narrow, but a grin stretches across his face as every one of the warped beings falls victim to his deadly poisoning. He acknowledges Skrall's recommendations switching the whip to his right hand, sweeping the Heavy Flail from his cloak in his other, and whirling both weapons at the Master Chaos Beast from the front row, venom splattering all over the park.

OoC: Actually I did get a critical hit in round 1, which I just noticed was calculated almost correctly except you forgot to factor in the Hunter's Quiver, you just need to drop Chaos Beast B's health by 4 and you should be good.

"I'm puttin' in heavy hitter's first, I want Hoke's and Nyx's attack bein' used to their fullest potentials. If they don't finish him off, ya'll still have yer chance to rake in some gold more gold. 'sides if yer pockets get any heavier with gold, yer going to find yerself bein' slowed."

Haldor staggered backward from the hit. Zoot er Isen had leapt forward like a wild animal in his hands to deflect the blow, but most of the beast's claw still made contact. It hurt.

(Why wood? I had selected a diamond to attack with. I will always use what does the most damage to the most enemies. Can you fix this?)
