(I am not reading that. Learn to self edit. )

"Well done my friends!"

Hoke raises his arm for Vipera to land on. He rubs her head and strokes the underside of her neck, congratulating her on another successful battle.

"I think Cronk or Haldor would put 'em to better use. You're not much help if most of our enemies are immune to assassination."

Knowing my luck, I would at least ask for a Nostrum, if not the return of my lucky die. I'd rather fight with you with merely my bow than to be knocked out cold.

I nod in earnest to Arthur.

It is an irony, I find. In her quest to cause chaos, Wren has - in a way- led many, if not all of us, to our own paths, beliefs, and unity. It is these very these she has lead us to that we must use against her now. I won't pretend to know all of you half as well as I should like, but I do know that behind us we have fought through fierce battles and conditions of the mind and soul. Together we have faced enemies the sun does not smile upon. Now, here at the end of all things, we face one final opponent - one so fierce and frightening we would do well to tremble at these gates.

Yet despite all this, I do not fear. In fact, I feel hope. I feel hope because I know we have fought battle after battle and emerged victorious, and I believe we can do so again. If not, I am confident we will die in honour and glory, unlike the madclaw who's head I carry. For if we are slain today, it will be in defense of Eubric, for the civilians who lie awake in their homes, and to preserve the name of Heroica as we know it.

The only thing I fear, is ourselves. Beyond this fight, I have little doubt that we shall be shaken again to our core, in different ways all of us. All I ask is that we remain in unity after this battle, for our own sake.

Forward now, legion of justice! Wren will fall, Heroes will rise!

Skrall with his poor lost soul- I love you all.

Was that what he had been reduced to? Had he spent his entire wanderings lost and forlorn looking for something to satisfy him, looking for that "beauty" and everytime coming up with nothing but emptiness and misery? What was he, nothing but an old Ogre that had seen better days. What would be his legacy? His children? His exploits as a fighter for the oppressed orc? His time with Heroica that only ammounted to failures in one way or another?

Was that why he hunted Wren? Was that why he pushed on? Some achievement to overshadow the misery that seemed to hound him like a beast from Hel?

Skrall swigged his last Mead, the invigorating liquid mixing with the blood from a broken tooth. Try as he may, he could not banish the thoughts from his head.

"Ya' say that as if a single word that comes outta her mouth is worth a damn, Arthur."

"Words, no matter who they're from, are always worth well more than a 'damn', Atramor, whether one agrees with said words or not."

It is truly sad, the waste that Wren made of Wren's life. Wren was smart, powerful being, and choose wrong path when there so much good that could have been done. But Cronk will mourn Wren's victims more than Wren. Wren made choice. Wren did not give same luxury to most of dead.

This is how Cronk propose to split loot:

Cronk will distribute 38 gold to each friend.

Cronk is feeling hungry so Cronk will also take 2 Zoot Cookies.

Alexis will get a Grand Zoot Cookie and Health Core.

Haldor will get Zoot Cookie and Phoenix Down (Essence, correct?).

Nyx, Skrall, and Arthur each get one Grand Zoot's Cookie.

Atramor get Grand Zoot Cookie and Grand Tonic.

Thothwick get Grand Zoot Cookie and Health Core.

Hoke get Zoot Cookie and Phoenix Down (Essence?).

Dyric get 2 Zoot Cookies and Grand Potion.

Does any friend take issue with distribution?

"Like Cronk says, mate. She screwed herself over by gettin' mixed up with crap she couldn't understand. She's lost everythin' at this point, why bother raisin' her hopes by willingly listenin' to her preach her insanity? She doesn't deserve any listeners. All she's earned at this point is the worst death conceivable. If we're gonna give her anythin', it's gonna be that, not our pity or our...what, messenger services?"

Atramor rolled his eyes. then accepted and devoured the Grand Zoot Cookie, hoping to increase his health. He cast an eye at the doors, then around at the fiery temple as he ate the odd snack.

"Tell you right now mates, I don't intend on comin' any closer than this to dinin' in hell."

Arthur shrugs mournfully. "She followed her path. I may not agree with her decisions, but I can respect her resolve--and her ultimate goal IS one of good, even though many of her means of achieving it are not. But I have no interest in continuing the debate." Arthur looks to Alexis, and intertwines his fingers with hers. "I want to spend what may well be my last moments alive enjoying what I have. I suggest everyone do the same. In fact...Felton, could we perhaps take a moment--just a moment--before we press forward? To appreciate what we have...to remember who and what we've lost? I'm sure Hans would agree with the sentiment, wouldn't you Hans?" Arthur accepts the Grand Cookie, and absorbs it into his hand, directing its energies into increasing his Health.

Haldor swallows the cookie, feeling his health grow as he does so.

"I am ready to move on. There is little point is standing here lamenting over Wren and her motives. What she is preparing to do will cost the lives of too many innocents for us to allow, and that is why we must stop her before she can do it; there is no moral judgement I will make here. It is not that she does not deserve our words, simply that there is nothing that we would wish to say to her, seeing the devastation she has already wreaked, inadvertantly or nay."

The nord finds time for a last-minute drink, and so helps himself to some smelling salts and a nostrum. You can take the boy out of Vartland, but you can't take Vartland out of the boy.

"Well, since we're advised to spend this last moments 'enjoying ourselves', anyone fancy coming over here and 'enjoying themself' with me? The night is young, and I brought my last supply of mead..."

The shaman downs another pint cheerily.

Nyx swipes Arthur's discarded Mead, and wanders off as he begins his speech. He was probably going to tell them all what they believed in again and how they were wrong. Despite never actually asking what anyone believed in. She swigs the Mead and feels the warmth inside, and gratefully accepts the Grand Zoot's Cookie and Gold from Cronk.

"I really hope those are chocolate chips" she mutters as she bites into the cookie, feeling her Health rise (by 2) as she does so.

Some booze and a cookie, she feels slightly less cold, even despite the fires around her. She walks over to Poletad and picks him up.

"I have no doubt we will win, but I know that you won't be able to stay in Eubric once this is done. Sir Poletad, you really are the bravest little frog I have ever had the honour of meeting, and I hope that our paths may cross again in the future."

She smiles wistfully and kisses the little frog gently on what might be his nose, before setting him down again and bowing politely.

Haldor puts down his finest mead for a moment.

"Don't see no point in saying any goodbyes, I ain't planning on going anywhere anytime soon. But if it makes anyonel feel a bit better in me saying it, it's been a pleasure serving with the lot of you; I've never seen such a varied and hearty bunch of folks in all my life. Felton, Hans, Poletad, McColt, Gnash, I don't doubt that this will be the last time we fine gentlemen meet each other, and so I wish you well with all my soul, and a long life that you may enjoy. Such strong, dependable people are difficult to come by."

The nord paused and took another long swig.

"Let us pack our bags and sling our weapons, there is a witch to hunt!"

"I have once survived death in these walls of Zoot. Surely, Orang Pendek, you could bestow your blessing upon me once more?"

An assortment of invertebrates hatched themselves in Thothwick's stomach, so he consumed his Grand Zoots Cookie to calm his nerves. The biscuit worked it's magic, and Thothwick felt his strength increase. "Hmm. Humans. They're so very good at desserts."

Thothwick listen to Arthur's speech, and then Dyric's shorter speech. "Hmm. They love their speeches, too. I suppose it's my go?"

Thothwick surveyed those around him. Human, and Greenskin. Northmen, and South. The loved, and the lost. "To those who'll perish, I shall see you in the next life. To those who'll survive, I shall see you in this."

"Call that a speech? Hah! Pater will be rotating in his urn once more!"

OoC: Terribly sorry, those should be Phoenix Essences... you're right.

The Wren Hunters, Haddon Guard, Dastan Nobility, Dragons, and Frog Paladin stand at the ready as well, listening to the speeches streaming forth.

"Lady Nyx, you've saved my life countless times. All of you are friends of Dastan. I will fight in this final battle, though I still feel fragile (perma). I will still be able to help with healing, perhaps."

DSCN0092_zpsebb35789.jpg

"I have also had enough sitting around. I think I can fight, and so I will. Wren must be taken down."

McColt.jpg

"Not much more needs to be said, does it?"

DSCN0092_zpsebb35789.jpg

"No indeed. Let us go kill a lunatic."

Phil nods grimly, swallowing a Mead and rubbing his Dragon Scale. Vipera licks Hoke's face, and Poletad hops up on Skrall's shoulder, but glances over at Nyx and nods his appreciation for her. Hans claps Thothwick and Skrall on the back.

"There's a great many things in this life I've not enjoyed. Fighting alongside you folks ain't one of them."

DSCN0092_zpsebb35789.jpg

"Lead the way, Cronk. We may be walking to our deaths, but I plan to give a good fight first, at least. There are no people I would prefer to die with, or, in more hopeful terms, live alongside."

OoC: Cornelius, you may ask other heroes to dictate actions of specific NPCs if you'd like (since there is now a bucket load of them) and whenever you're ready, bold that you walk through that door!

"Mate, no-one here with us will be perishing today; Wren's is the only grave that will need digging. We have nothing if not optimism, yeah? While, we're at it, d'you want some of this stuff? Help yourself, all of you."

Haldor waves a ale bottle around at his friends, and then stepped forward.

"I'm looking forward to pulling up a pint once this is all over."

"There's a great many things in this life I've not enjoyed. Fighting alongside you folks ain't one of them."

"The pleasure has been mine, sir. It's been an honour to fight evil with all of you, regardless of whether or not we've seen eye-to-eye."

"Mate, no-one here with us will be perishing today; Wren's is the only grave that will need digging. We have nothing if not optimism, yeah? While, we're at it, d'you want some of this stuff? Help yourself, all of you."

"True, my Norse friend. Optimism should be exercised here. Hmm... it would be nice to partake in Hoptet's favourite beverage. I'd like a glass of Mead, please!"

"Give Hoke that Brew, I'll give him one of my Remedies to take with it. I wouldn't say no to a Soma for myself if you're offering, though. Dyric'd do well with a Soma, too. And now that I look at things, you should take a Grand Tonic and then your Mulled Wine, so you'll have more Ether for spells and healing."

Atramor grumbled a bit as he looked around at the party. It seemed as if every drink but one was being passed around.

"Why's the rum always gone?"

He shook his head.

"Haldor, mate, maybe you should consider lending Mallelio all of your scrolls and the lens, he's hardly in any condition to fight physically."

"Good plan, then Sir Cronk can lend Haldor Ennoc's Blessing."

Haldor nods and begins to pass around the drinks. He gives Thothwick a mead, Hoke a pongcanis brew, Arthur and Dyric a Soma each, before finally necking the mulled wine himself.

"Good stuff this, don't waste it. And while we're at it, Mallelio, you had best take this lens and these scrolls to use in the upcoming apocalypse, so I can get back in and start kicking heads again."

He takes another sip of the wine, and produces a bone come from inside a pocket.

"Old habits die hard, I want to look my best for our final meeting with Wren."

The nord grinned. If they listened, the others might have heard him whistling a tune long forgotten by most of the world. It was a song of doom and destruction, which Haldor recalled from his childhood. The tune was know as 'The End', written by a long-lost group of travelling minstrels who called themselves The Gates.
