I'm definitely picking this up when I find it.

I really hate Aquaman's hair. I hated it the first time I saw it and months later it hasn't grown on me at all. I can't imagine why Lego decided to give Aquaman the Justin Bieber haircut.

Thanks for an AWESOME review of an AWESOME set 'Oky'......I've been waiting for my equal favourite DC super hero to be brought out in a set and a mega-bonus is BOTH my favourite DC SH's are in one set ! :excited:

Fantastic Bat-boat.....neat ice block play feature.....pardon the pun......very COOL !

The older Mr Freeze head suits the new body work just as well as the new head......my head will scratch over who's next eh ?

I've been meaning to put the Bunny Hood onto this white Batman. White Batman is cool but what use is he in most build situations? Might as well make him BunnyMan.

Thanks for the review. I'm only going to pick the set up for the Aqua Man fig (and I'm definitely going to change his hair!). I too was surprised and disappointed when Aqua Man was announced as the only non-Batman figure we'd get in this wave. But I'll take what I can get!

Thanks for the review!

i'll definetly get this bad boy. The 20$ Super Heroes Sets have all been hits imho, especially the underrated King of 2012 - Superman vs Power-Armor Lex.

Has anyone found a currently available Hair-replacement for the yellow Justin-Bieber-Cut?

I'd really like Aquaman to look more like that reference-picture Oky posted

Well that hairpiece is accurate to that picture, sooooo....? Though you could try Malfoy's cool yellow 2010 hairpiece, that was used preliminaryly for the LB2 version.

I got this set, and I agree I'd rather have an emotionless face, but I do see the eyes on Mr. F as monocle type goggle eyepieces, similar to that drawing you posted. Just MO though. (Rather than zombie eyes).

I'm sorely disappointed about the lack of a double head for Freeze, he's still a cool figure though.

The standout is Batman, however. That white look is really amazing. Aqua man is ok, nothing special but nice to have.

The set itself is great, a nice vehicle and good playfeatures. Right now I am wondering why I didn't buy this when I was last at the LEGO store.. smh. :sceptic:

I kind of passed this set by when it was announced, but looking at it now, I just might have to snatch it up. Mr. Freeze is my favorite Bat-villian behind The Joker, and although the minifigure isn't perfect it's still probably the best one we're going to get. My favorite part, though, is the Arctic Batman, which reminds me of this extremely cool artwork from Arkham City:

The boat itself is actually quite nice, as well! I only wish 2012's Batman sets had looked as good as this year's.

For those of you that have this set, is the cone on Freeze's gun silver or light grey? It looks silver on the cover and in the manual, but I only had light grey cones available in the bags.

Thanks!

It is light gray. The parts list in the back of the manual only lists it as light gray and not silver

Great review, Oky. The minifigures look really great and Arctic Batman is a fresh change from the usual suit we see him with in most sets. The rock piece in trans light blue looks perfect for the ice prison.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Check the Licensed Themes Photography thread. And I agree about the 2012 sets. :sadnew:

Yeah, it's annoying how gray always looks like silver on those CGI box arts these days. :sceptic:

I want to replace Batman's mask with the Bunny Suit Guy's mask.

Uhm, why? I don't think that would look very good. It makes a lot more sense to put it on Mr. Freeze like I did here:

Love the Batboat! More than the Batmobile and possibly on par with the Batwing! Ice Prison: Couldn't Care Less to be honest, and I kind of like the new Mr Freeze. The old head I didn't like because I thought he looked like a nerd rather than a villain with those huge goggles. Should have had the head from LEGO Batman 2 with smaller goggles. Aquaman is quite cool, but the Cheekbones make him look way too old. He also should have leg printing. Arctic Batman is okay, but I prefer the black Batman.

If they extend DC Superheroes to DC Superheroes rather than Batman & Friends, then we could have a $12 one of Martian Manhunter's Justice League Sattelite. And my dream is still a Manbat v Batman with the Flash helping out for no particular reason.

Is that how you spell Sattelite?

No, that's not how you spell satellite. Are you talking about the Watchtower?

Also, we already have Batman and a Manbat, so why would you want a set with them? There are so many better sets the Flash could appear in. I for one hope they do a Flash vs. Gorilla Grodd set with another hero thrown in, but this is not the place to discuss set ideas.

Great review Oky! A very entertaining read.

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.

Artic Batman suit is "inspired" by antarctic Nite Owl from the second last chapter of Watchmen.

What makes you say that? That looks like a completely different design to me.

Picked this up today, and I'm satisfied with it. The ship is nicely designed, and the disc-missiles are a great substitute for the decade of flick-fire ones we've had. It was simply good quality for a good price.

And Oky, making fun of Aquaman is the equivilant of making fun of airline food in the 80's. Shooting fish in a barrel. You're better than that
