legotechnicblue Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Blue and pink would make a good combination Quote
legomuppet9 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 British Racing Green (basically dark green...) Quote
rm8 Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 We have not much time, but your cool ideas about particular elements of body can be heard, and don't forget about stickers. Sad, but we cant change chassis color schema, cause of some internal processes at TLG. May be it is because if automatized sorting and packing of details. Quote
DLuders Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 @ rm8: That's OK -- a black-and-yellow "The Boss" Crawler looks pretty good as-is! Quote
Gene Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Sample colours are very subjective unless we are referring to Pantone charts. All 4 colour presented by rm8 were consider good for me. For Stickers: Logos & Name: - Letro (Oil) - rm8 (Car model, can we get a technic figure driver name rm8?) - 8 (Racing number) - BOSS (Car name) Elements: - Stripes (For deco) - Flame (For deco) Edited February 10, 2013 by Gene Quote
Splat Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) I think rm8 should at least get his name/initials immortalized somewhere on the model. Perhaps as a printed tile with his name/initials on the number plate, or as a sticker for the doors, or even on the hood or roof. Edited February 10, 2013 by Splat Quote

crazy_1993 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I asked questions to TLG and received an answers: Questions: 1. Will it be a full set with chassis or just expansion pack for 9398 owners? 2. Will the top 100 voted entries receive winning set as it was announced at lego.com designers blog? 3. Will it be at Russian official catalogue and official retail shops of Russia (for example 8110 and 8081 was not). Russian fans waiting for that. Answers 1) It will be a full set including the chassis of the 4X4 Crawler. 2) Yes the top 100 entries will all receive a set. 3) The set will be sold in all LEGO Brand Retail Stores and in our online shop www.shop.lego.com – but it will in both cases be in a limited number as this is an exclusive item, so I can’t promise you for how long they will be on the shelves! I am sceptical as to whether they actually will give the top 100 a copy of the Boss crawler, it seems like a very expensive thing to do seeing as the top 100 is the majority of entries! Maybe they expected more entries when the blog was written. I am not going to lie though, I would love a Boss crawler, even if many people would consider it my arch nemesis! Quote

About top100 - information directly from TLG technic team. Thats true. Another question: If I have 2,3 or more models at top100 - how many prizes I will receive:1 or according to quantity of my top100 models? 100 crawlers is small summ in comparison to its year revenue - 3,5 billion $, production cost about 1 billion and another 1 billion for sales and distribution expenses. That is official financial information from lego.com. Using that logic I guess that Boss crawler with retail price for example 250$ will cost in production not more than 100$. So 100$x100pcs = 10 000 $. Thats very small price for such effective marketing campaign. One issue of 20 second Video advertising at any top Tv channel can be much expensive than those 100 crawlers:) Hope you will like our final result Edited March 3, 2013 by rm8 Quote

DLuders Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) @ rm8: In your interaction with The Lego Group about the final design of "The Boss", is there any chance that they would produce the set in a DARK BLUE color? Reference the results of the TechnicBRICKS poll topic: Model is going to comitee next week. It is almost ready. I dont think we can change something. Hope they'll listen the voice of community. I saw many color variants of Boss during our work. I can tell that yellow is very cool. But we choose another color. Mates, I am going to make civil chassis from existing 9398 chassis with the same mounting points for body to make civil version of Boss muscle car. Edited February 22, 2013 by rm8 Quote
colinrichardson Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I really like this model. I was not so into the original 9398, but I'll definitely be getting this when it comes out. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I hope that TLG consider to bring Dark blue back in technic and i have now a lots off it, i think your Boss will look stunning in dark blue with white stripes Quote
legotechnicblue Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 So when will this set actually come out? Quote
rm8 Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Hi, We passed model committee two days ago. Everything is going fine. Now I cant say the date when it will be presented. But as Remember 20-23 of march is real. The 22 of february was a mistake... Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Awesome! Can you tell us what the final color(s) will be? Quote
rm8 Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Awesome! Can you tell us what the final color(s) will be? No:) Quote
TechnicMati Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I suppose it's gonna be orange or some variants of orange and black. I hope for some orange parts, panels - these would be nice for my collection and for my offroader I'm just working on. I wonder if body changes that TLG with Rm8 have done are just cosmetic or they do really change a look and appearance of the Boss? Quote
legotechnicblue Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I wouldn't enjoy the orange because of the Unimog but it would look cool Quote
