Going for gold!

“My goal was to win outright. I thought that my main competitors would be famous model builders. Somehow they did not make it to the finals, but I had to compete with a genius builder “crazy_1993”.”

LOL, thanks for mentioning me, Egor! Still looking forward to the reveal of the final model.

When I designed my entry for the competition, I had no Lego except my old pneumatic excavator which I cannot take apart because many of the parts have started developing fractures and breaking, so it would damage it too much. My parents made me sell off the rest of my Lego when I was 16 as I was supposedly 'too old for it' and I agreed with them at the time, but I have been wanting my Lego back ever since. Also considering I am now studying physics at university, buying enough bricks to build the Enforcer for real would have been dangerously expensive!

The competition entry was my first ever major technic MOC so I was thrilled to come second in the competition. When I was younger, I must admit, I spent much of my time building from the instructions, not because I couldn't build myself but because I find following Lego instructions SOOOO satisfying! My only other MOC was a 6 x 6 monster truck with pneumatic suspension made from my pneumatic JCB and some other stuff when I was 14 and got I my model making badge in the boy scouts from it.

This christmas, I got a Lego Ningago bike as a joke present and I have already remodelled it into a snowmobile with steering skis. I do wonder why I never did more MOCing. I hope that I will be able to enter more of the these competitions in the future.

My new desk ornament :classic:

Good start, hope next set will be not Chima or Turtle Ninjas:)

Coming back to Boss:

There many work to do to present new model in such short period:

1) build winning model in cooperation with winner

2) analyze it

3) improve design in cooperation with winner

4) improve colour sheme + stickers in cooperation with winner

5) check model to agree all TLG building rules

6) produce details with new color

7) prepare presentation, instruction, and needed detail sets for every member of commission

8) accept model by comission

9) complete comission's recomendations

10) count all parts needed for set several times

11) develop design of the box

12) prepare materials for online presentation

All this work must be done while making other work, not linked with crawler ( developing new models for 2014,2015...)

This is the first experience for TLG to make model in cooperation with lego-fan in short period of time. We must understand and be patient.

Take a look at a side steps and bull bar - they are metallic. Wheels have white circle and 6 holes (not 3)!;)

Waiting for online presentation in april

I'm so glad they went with that blue. Looks like they switched out round connectors (I don't remember the proper name) for liftarms in a number of places. Also substituted a long thin panel for the short one at the base of the c-pillar. The new seats look really plush and go well with the 70s aesthetic of the rest of the car.

Nice job Lego (and rm8 of course).

You just got bricksetted :grin: I imagine that the preorders are sold out on the first day.

It's really a lot better than before. The colors and the minor changes. I am surprised though, how close it is to the original. Very well done!
