OzBen Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Sorry, we cant change chassis color (red). I like the red chassis, red, white & blue for an american muscle car....... Quote
hrontos Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Looks really good in blue/white/mettalic silver combination. Much more optimistic than the black version. It is interesting how simple ring on rims brings the wheels to life. Seats were also nicely improved. Well done. EDIT: I might be wrong, but on picture it looks like no rear-axle steering. Only front axle is turned, rear is straight. Did they really included motorized winch? Or is it hand powered? Edited March 22, 2013 by hrontos Quote
jadedomg Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Damn that is really great it looks amazing in dark blue. I can't wait to add it to my collection. Quote
Luc2000 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Loving it! Why did they change this part (yellow circle)? Did they keep the winch? And is it dark blue or normal blue? Quote
rm8 Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) This little part was changed after first parties of 9398. Information was already posted about it. Winch is here. The way how it works you'll see later. New wheels with 6 holes appeared with white circle on it! Color is dark blue. Edited March 22, 2013 by rm8 Quote
OzBen Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Loving it! Why did they change this part (yellow circle)? Did they keep the winch? And is it dark blue or normal blue? I believe that part has been changed due to the original part being installed the wrong way around causing it to lock up. Quote
Wiseman_2 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Loving it! Why did they change this part (yellow circle)? Did they keep the winch? And is it dark blue or normal blue? I believe that part already got switched out in most later versions of the Crawler. EDIT: Beaten to the punch To be totally honest the Crawler never did appeal to me as a set, but when it looks as brilliant as this I don't think I'll be able to pass it up Edited March 22, 2013 by Wiseman_2 Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Awesome, love the new wheels too! Metalic bricks, are they chromed? One more question. Any idea about top voters getting sets true? Or must i start to save money? One more thing, how are lights in front? Edited March 22, 2013 by Zblj Quote
rm8 Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) All top100 voters will get this set! That was CONFIRMED by TLG. Edited March 22, 2013 by rm8 Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Best RM8, Is the underside panel of the doors also a new one's?! Good to see that now also liftarms 15, 13 and 7 made in dark blue. You said that it is an white line on the wheels, at the photo it's look like silver. The silver liftarms are great too. I like the brickbuild seats. Overal this is a lot better set than the orginal 9398 and you and TLG make's very good job  Quote
Paul Boratko Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Awesome, love the new wheels too! Metalic bricks, are they chromed? One more question. Any idea about top voters getting sets true? Or must i start to save money? One more thing, how are lights in front? Was wondering the same thing.. No way a dark blue brick would reflect like that... It looks like blue chrome... Actually now that I look at some brand new black liftarms in the proper lighting, they do reflect.. Nevermind... Quote
hrontos Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Actually now that I look at some brand new black liftarms in the proper lighting, they do reflect.. Nevermind... At first sight I also thought that it is metalic dark blue. Dark color with proper lighting reflect much better that the bright ones. The reflection itself is still blue and metallic reflections should have more of the color of the object being reflected, so it is probaly standard dark blue. Still looks great and contains almost complete set of the blue panels - great for MOCs. Really nice color combination. Quote
rm8 Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Thank you. Glad that you like it. ReBuilding was a big challenge for us, and there are any compromisses here. But again I am glad that you like it. Thank to my codesigner, cant say his name now, but all his proposals about improving help us to make Boss much better. Was wondering the same thing.. No way a dark blue brick would reflect like that... It looks like blue chrome... Actually now that I look at some brand new black liftarms in the proper lighting, they do reflect.. Nevermind... Sorry, there is no 19L soft axles here. But, Hope, you find the way to use new rims with white stripe in you supercars. Edited March 22, 2013 by rm8 Quote
skppo Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Ooh! I like this way more than the previous crawler body. The thing on top of the dashboard a possible polarity switch for the winch? Also, what is the orange behind the seats? Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 One more question. Will remote stay the same, or will it be improved? Quote
shadowhearth Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 This is awesome. I presume we will get all the info in april? Release, price, preorder? Quote
hrontos Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 @rm8: Will TLG include there also some B-model? Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 @rm8: Will TLG include there also some B-model? I think that whe must create the B and C and D ..... model ourself Quote
hrontos Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I think that whe must create the B and C and D ..... model ourself Another competition? rm8 will provide us a part list and we can start. May be TLG will then include it. Quote
Meatman Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) I kind of do not like the way that TLG did the top corners of the windshield. I guess it looks ok though. Edited March 22, 2013 by Meatman Quote
hrontos Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I kind of do not like the way that TLG did the top corners of the windshield. Sure it is a different approach and looks ok from the angle that they are showing, but from a straight on view I would think that it will look a bit odd with not only those thin liftarms sticking out, but also those 1/2 blue pins. I think this is a compromise, so that the model can be grabbed by holding just the roof. Quote
Meatman Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 The model overall looks great. I think this is a compromise, so that the model can be grabbed by holding just the roof. Yeah, the more that I thought about it, it does look alright using the black toggles in combination with the think liftarms. I also love the wheels. Very cool. Quote
crazy_1993 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 All top100 voters get this set! That was CONFIRMED by TLG. Are you totally sure about this? I REALLY WANT ONE but I don't want to get my hopes up! The improvements are absolutely spectacular, the colour scheme is PERFECT and all those chrome parts are amazing! The wheels actually transcend infinity on the awesome scale!! I'm sure all the real Technic veterans will be ordering many of these just for the rare/exclusive parts! Also the winch has been kept so it has more functionality than the original crawler. Has an extra PF motor has been added for the winch like the original boss or a clever gear shift system? I don't really regret coming second now because that is just awesome, you and TLG really knew what they were doing in the development phase! Quote
DLuders Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 It seems that The Boss has parts that don't need stickers to make them "beautiful", compared to the standard, white 9398: Quote
