Jim Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) Congrats on winning the contest. It is a great looking set. You've earned it Edited January 24, 2013 by Gekke Ted Quote
Meatman Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I just read the thread over at doublebricks.ru about this entry, that certainly was interesting. Quote

MarkusOSX Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 @rm8 Maybe you can animate TLG to reactivate the PowerPuller Wheels Greetz Markus Quote
rm8 Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) @rm8 Maybe you can animate TLG to reactivate the PowerPuller Wheels Greetz Markus Thats impossible for crawler set. They a too stressful for crawler's drivetrain, so it is potential problem with sets and bad feedback from customers with warranty. They cant afford such fail. But producing new wider and bigger tires with the same material as 94's wheels IMO is possible (PP rubber has a higher density). Hope they work on that... But I will do everything I can:) Edited January 25, 2013 by rm8 Quote

DLuders Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Will David be compiling a checklist on the top 100 creators? I think he has enough free time to do it:))))) according to his previous posts:) @ Gene & rm8 (Egor Karshiev): On The Lego Group's webpage http://technic.us.lego.com/en-us/Creations/Default.aspx , you can see that the online VOTING mechanism has not been "turned off" so it is not possible anymore to determine how many votes each COMPLIANT entry received when the competition's first phase ended (at midnight December 31, 2012 Central European Time). Heck, I just voted for a model submitted on December 31st to test this out -- it accepted my vote. There are (late) entries on that webpage that were submitted AFTER the first phase ended, and they are racking up votes too. Quote
Gene Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Hope to be awarded one! Lego should consider letting all participants to have the first-right to purchase 1 set before public distribution. Quote
DLuders Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 @ rm8: Here are a few questions about your "The Boss" model: 1. Did you have to mail your model to The Lego Group for them to see how it is built? Or, did you take multiple photographs of your model and mail it to them instead? 2. Which Lego Technic Designers are you working with? Is Grohl (Milan Reindl) one of them? 3. Do they prohibit you from publicly discussing the set with others? 4. Are the Lego Technic Designers sending ideas back-and-forth, or did they get your inputs and will now proceed without you? Quote
legotechnicblue Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 What is the difference between the offload version and the extreme version Quote

rm8 Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 What is the difference between the offload version and the extreme version Offroad version includes front bar, winch and roof-lights in comparison to lite version. Extreme version includes Power Puller tires in addition to offroad version features. Quote
jantjeuh Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I hope they release the extreme version, I really want those power puller tires Quote
grohl Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Why? The drivetrain of any model needs to handle a lot more weight because of the PP wheels. They look cool but that´s it. Quote

I know, but I really really want those power puller tires :D Wish TLG would include them (or lighter versions of them) in a new set, they're damn expensive on Bricklink. Anyway, I like this set but the Enforcer was better looking imho. I hope TLG will improve the looks. Edited January 29, 2013 by jantjeuh Quote

rm8 Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) I broked many U joints while driving Boss with Power Puller tires indoor. So forget the Pullers. Better ask for new tires:) @ rm8: Here are a few questions about your "The Boss" model: 1. Did you have to mail your model to The Lego Group for them to see how it is built? I mailed more than 100 photos of internal structure of model 2. There is one contact person, but as he said - many designers working with my model. 3. There are some limitations, of course I cant post new photos especially with building steps. But I will post some information here from time to time. 4. Yes, i received their feedback and ideas to discuss. I cant tell you ideas about model and thing that we are going to improve. But i can tell you that all ideas are VERY COOL. I was very surprised while reading TLGs proposals 8) I hope that some of those, who was disappointed with contest, winner model, and will not going to buy winning set will change their opinion soon:) we will work hard to make it MEGASUPERCOOLBOSS. And we also want to save surprising effect for you when it will be officially presented. Egor. Edited January 29, 2013 by rm8 Quote

jadedomg Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I don't know how many technic flagship sets get produced but 20,000 seems low? Then again I am assuming 9398 will still be in production at the time and half its assembly (bag one) will be able to be temporary put into the boss for a while. I am looking forward too it and hope lego does more of this in the future. I can't see the part count being much larger than 9398 at least. Quote
Hopey Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Any idea where it's going to be available? I'll be living in Australia by then, and I'm worried I'm not going to be able to get one... Quote
