Posted December 24, 201212 yr Hi all, First of all, I must apologize for the messy background and the quality of the pictures, I didn't really have much time photographing the model. This Candy House is built for a LEGO event that is currently taking place in Times Square, Hong Kong. My fellow Legend Bricks members and I started designing and constructing LEGO models for the event in late March 2012. Houses like this Candy House are enlarged to life scale by wood and plastic to accommodate life-scale LEGO models, such as bread, cakes, paintings, flowers, grandfather clock, and all sorts of interior deco that you can think of for a winter village. While this model is never published, I guess pictures of its life-scale cousins should have been floating around the internet since mid-Nov. Anyway, I am just posting it for sharing so feel free to disqualify me ;-) The timeframe for the initial stage of the project is quite tight so I didn't fit in any interior (nor do I had to, cos that was taken care of in the second stage), but I did gave it some signature features such as a candy cane lamp post and a balcony. I contributed 3 buildings for the project [From left to right: Music Shop (The Music Shop was repurposed as a Toy Shop for the event with a spinning teddy bear on the first floor balcony, which was temporary removed in the picture), Candy House, Bakery] Big... and small... and me Pic with my Carousel~ The event runs from mid Nov to 2 Jan 2013 and opens to public. If you happen to be in town, feel free to pay a visit! (Note: half of the life-scale buildings and the brick built models inside them will be taken down on 26 Dec 2012 for the countdown to 2013. TIme Square Hong Kong is a popular tourism spot and the event is often very crowded.) If Hong Kong is too remote for you, you can also check out some pictures of the event here: https://www.facebook.com/legendbricks Merry Christmas and I wish you all a joyful and prosperous new year!
December 24, 201212 yr Very impressive, thanks for sharing. Who pays for those large models at Times Square? Lego?
December 24, 201212 yr Lovely! Too bad the rumored CMF Gingerbread Man isn't out yet--if it's true and looks good, it might compliment the scene nicely!
December 24, 201212 yr Breathtaking work. Your miniature models have translated fantastically to life-size scale - it must be any AFOL's dream to see their creations brought to such a huge scale! The photo of you and your work is certainly front page worthy.
December 24, 201212 yr The candy shop looks great in minifgure scale, and even more amazing in life-size scale. I really like the colour combination you have used. You must be very proud! Well done. Merry Christmas!
December 25, 201212 yr Those are awesome Definitely some good competition this year. I would say those fit in really well with the regular line.
January 13, 201312 yr Wow! Great build, feeling and idea. Also a really nice carousel!, the original one is way to big for my village, but this would fit perfectly...
