That said, I don't think this is a stupid set, in fact I would have liked to purchase one for myself if they were readily available. I would love a pro-wrestling theme. I've created a ring and wrestlers myself. It was fun to have ladders and breakaway tables.

Was it because LEGO (or whoever dealt with licensing for the Spider-Man products at the time) didn't think a wrestling themed set was appropriate for kids?

If this was made I would totally buy it, but that's because I'm a WWE fan and the actor who played Spider-man's opponent was the Macho Man Randy Savage. I don't think the set is that bad either.
