April 2, 201311 yr Author Goodness gracious me! They're forcing you to watch it? That's terrible... Good point. It's just with the usual tradition of one Pixar movie a year, it's hard to get an original product from them! Of course, a part of me is excited, and I'll still watch the movie.
April 2, 201311 yr Uhm, yeah, aren't you overreacting a little? So far they've had only three sequels, two of which were great, and one prequel which is too early to judge but looks pretty good. The idea for this one sounds interesting enough and it's based on a great movie, so I am optimistic about it. There are enough original Pixar movies to look forward to, so I don't see the problem.
April 3, 201311 yr I'm actually still intrigued to see how Finding Dory will be done. I think the movie that really needs a sequel, perhaps in a couple years though, is The Incredibles. That movie was left really open for a sequel at the end, IMHO.
April 3, 201311 yr Looking forward to seeing "Planes". Glad that they ended up releasing it in theaters instead of the original direct to DVD plans. Should do much better on the big screen. On a side note, I work right next to Pixar's headquarters in Emeryville Ca. :)
April 3, 201311 yr It's just with the usual tradition of one Pixar movie a year, it's hard to get an original product from them! Actually, I believe Pixar will be releasing two films in 2015: The Untitled Pixar Movie that Takes You Inside the Mind in June, and Finding Dory in November.
April 3, 201311 yr I think the movie that really needs a sequel, perhaps in a couple years though, is The Incredibles. That movie was left really open for a sequel at the end, IMHO. I think this comment is getting redundant. Everybody wants to see The Incredibles 2. But I guess they must have their reasons for not making it (yet). I work right next to Pixar's headquarters in Emeryville Ca. :) Lucky! Can you peak inside their window and tell us what they're working on? Actually, I believe Pixar will be releasing two films in 2015: The Untitled Pixar Movie that Takes You Inside the Mind in June, and Finding Dory in November. Not sure where the release date for the Inside Out is coming from, but it sure would be great to have two Pixar movies in a year (as long as their quality doesn't suffer of course)!
April 3, 201311 yr Author I'm pretty sure Finding Dory will be released in 2016. They always say that one will be released in November with two a year, but they never follow through with the November release, only June.
April 4, 201311 yr I think this comment is getting redundant. Everybody wants to see The Incredibles 2. But I guess they must have their reasons for not making it (yet). In-house competiton between Marvel and Pixar?
April 4, 201311 yr finding nemo was fun, so i think that the sequel could turn out to be a great movie.
April 4, 201311 yr I have seen the Monster INC last night and that prequel is dead for me. Why you ask? Because it not a prequel. In the first movie Mike says: "You've been jealous of my good looks since the fourth grade, pal." So they meet eachother BEFORE the college.
April 4, 201311 yr So you're not interested in Monsters University because of one throwaway line? Did it occur to you that maybe Mike was exaggerating?
April 4, 201311 yr For me it means that not the same people will work on it, because they missed such obvious fact. same people will work on it, because they missed such obvious fact, and the movie could be a lot worse.
April 4, 201311 yr I just wouldn't take it so seriously, and be willing to find the new movie fun (if it will be) even if it contradicts a tiny bit. X-Men First Class contradicts terribly with some dialogue in the first X-Men movie, and I expected it to be a prequel, but both can (and do) still stand on their own rights.
April 4, 201311 yr Yeah, dismissing an entire prequel just because it contradicts one line in the original which could easily be chalked up to an insignificant joke seems pretty silly to me too. Give the movie a chance.
April 5, 201311 yr For me it means that not the same people will work on it, because they missed such obvious fact. same people will work on it, because they missed such obvious fact, and the movie could be a lot worse. The same people are working on it. Pete Docter and Andrew Stanton wrote Monsters, Inc. as well.
April 27, 201311 yr New MU trailer. Kinda getting tired of seeing the same jokes over and over. If those are the best this movie has to offer, I don't see it being very good. Hopefully that's not the case. Also, a clip from the accompanying short film The Blue Umbrella. This looks very cute!
May 21, 201311 yr Sorry for the double post, but I just learned that there is going to be a special on ABC this October called Toy Story of Terror! That awesome title and the mere fact that this is going to be 30 minutes of Halloween themed Toy Story goodness directed by CudeDude inventor Angus MacLane already make me extremely excited for this! What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror.
May 21, 201311 yr The description sounds like it's going to be pretty fun! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

May 21, 201311 yr The description sounds like it's going to be pretty fun! Thanks for bringing it to my attention! No problem! It's my duty as EB's resident Pixar nerd. I'm excited! I just hope it's not like the DreamWorks Holiday specials. What's wrong with the DW holiday specials? I LOVE the Kung Fu Panda holiday special (probably my favorite special ever! Seriously, if you haven't seen it, check it out!) and the Madagascar and Dragons ones weren't bad either. Now let's hope there will be a special LEGO set based around it! Yeah, like a Toy Story edition of the Monster Fighters Haunted Mansion! Well, we can dream anyway...

I didn't see the Valentine Madagascar one, though.
May 21, 201311 yr The Kung Fu Panda one was good, but the rest weren't very interesting to me. I didn't see the Valentine Madagascar one, though. Yeah, me neither... By the way, here's a new trailer for Planes. This one actually makes me a lot more optimistic about the movie. Some of those scenes are actually shot quite nicely, plus that forklift version of Lady Liberty is just hilarious.

Some of those scenes are actually shot quite nicely, plus that forklift version of Lady Liberty is just hilarious. The animation for the scenery looks really good. I actually think this will be better than Cars 2. With the Top Gun references and this latest trailer, it really looks like they're trying to appeal to people of all ages.
June 22, 201311 yr Author Saw Monsters University today. I really liked it! Though Pixar is not at its prime, I still recommend it. I'd give it an A.
