xxlrocka Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Coal* to everybody suggesting I get an ether core! *Coal: Single-use item. Hurl it at an enemy to do an guaranteed 1 damage... Woohoo. Or use it to increase a torch's power, maybe... cuz that's the way it is.
Bricksandparts Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 To sylph (Because of his great leadership in his quests) - Iron amulet of leadership (allows wearer to lead group as a single unit having everyone have the same lucky roll. Usable once per battle, uses 5 ether.) To Arthur (Because of his great need for so many scrolls) - Scroll of casting (Allows User to use up to three scrolls in one turn, with the ether cost (# of scrolls being used) * (Sum of ether cost for individual scrolls) To Johon (Because he hasn't) - The chance to be a party leader (I'm too busy right now anyways) To Monk Pretzel (I think everyone knows why) - Tasty pretzel (1/3 chance each of giving Lucky, Hastened, or Encouraged) when consumed.
Pandora Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Dear Father Grogmas, you know I've been a good girl this year. Well, significantly better than I have been in previous years anyway, and that's thanks to some of the people I've met due to Heroica, so this year I'd like to ask for presents for some of the other heroes I've encountered. Feel free to still give me stuff too, though. You know I love presents. To Cronk, some Bright Polish for his armour, as I know he likes it to be shiny and bright. Perhaps if he shines it well enough it might reflect some damage, or at least protect him more(+1 SP permanently). To Larry, I'm willing to bet that wherever he is he probably needs a drink, so maybe a Flaming Gumball to remind him of me, but I bet the old goat doesn't realise the pink flame it has is due to the added Phoenix Essence, and he'd probably just drink it, when he could perhaps give it to someone else. Maybe give him a bottle of Flame-distilled Brandy to not only Encourage him but protect him from the cold (nullifies Ice elemental damage for one battle). Oh go on, give him both, and a big hug. To Barty, a kiss, for all he has to put up with, and for coming back. To Atramor, a jug of gravy, for when he eventually cooks that damn chicken of his. He'll get hungry one day. I'd like to also give him a Roast Chicken Leg (+1 HP permanently), to remind him of what he's missing. To Ellaria, I wish her a sign from her goddess that her daughter is safe, as that will give her faith, and it is her faith that keeps her strong. Also an Elixir, to help her continue her good deeds and because she had to waste one on Atramor. To Nerwen, I haven't seen her for so long, but I think she would like a Rito Feather, as I've heard that using one will grant the Hastened and Blessed effects for a while. To Galen, I think he'd like a Stretchy Leather Band. He can attach it to his throwing weapon so he can automatically retrieve it, because I remember he found that annoying. To Skrall, I'd like him to have a few (5) Exploding Bolts for his crossbow. He can use them just the same, but they have the added excitement of exploding on impact for a little extra damage(+5). To Rufindel, some bandages, and a First Aid Kit, which will guarantee a full heal of the entire party and removal of negative status effects one time only. So he knows he can definitely heal at least once. And finally, for Tarn, a kiss from his far off Dastanian Princess, as I know how he fell for her. Maybe a Mead for him too, to help take his mind off missing her so. Thank you Father Grogmas, I promise to be a good girl for the next year too, really. No, honestly, I will. Well.... I'll try.
Peppermint_M Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Dear Father Grogmass, are you like the Mountain Strider? He brings gifts for all the good tribe children... If you are, are you friends with each other? That would be nice, you could go off fighting all the rest if the year! If you could, would you get Namyrra a really nice cloak that helps her magic somehow? I know she likes that sort of thing. Or an Aquamarine, but we probably have one of those spare... Skrall could probably do with some Smelling Salts and maybe a Nostrum or two, he's fighting Wren I hear... For Maurice, maybe a nice shield, he is getting to be a paladin again and he would certainly need something good and strong. Unless Ennoc doesn't like Grogmass... But then he did put up with me and Namyrra on that quest. Well, I think everyone else is sorted... Thanks again. Tesni The sheet fluttered down to the collecting area, it smelt like wood and steam.
Waterbrick Down Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) A small note was found near the gathering throng. Father Grogmas, Growing up I never knew what to make of you. My oldest siblings would attempt to rationalize my beliefs for me to keep me enthralled under the spell of your existence, while my middling siblings were a bit more blunt and called you nothing but absolute nonsense. Well time passed, the winters always grew colder and the gifts grew few if they came at all in our cave and I suppose I just stopped believing at some point as all grown-ups tend to do. I had children of my own and tried to pass on the spirit of Grogmas to them while they grew up, but my heart was never in it as my mind remembered those lonely empty nights waiting for presents that would appear less and less often as the hostility against our kind grew more and more familiar. Well I am growing old and I guess with age comes that whimsical wish for the days gone by when hope and belief in what was unseen was held closer and considered of more value than it is in these days of grayness and shifting philosophies. So, if it's not too much for an old ogre to ask, and if you really do read these things, I'd like to make a few requests. To my friend En Sabah Nur, may he find peace and rest where ever he is. Yes I know he's always been the cheeky kind of rogue, but even they deserve a little happiness and cheer during this time. To Haldor the Nord, I don't know what's bugging him, but I haven't seen his elven girlfriend around as of late, so things might have gone south, he probably could use some mulled wine to cheer him up during the festivities. To Arthur Regulus, the kid's a regular scholar and expert on all that magic stuff, but he seems a bit like a progg with all left feet when it comes to social graces, so perhaps a copy of that stuck-up elf Poily Emst's Etiquett would grant him a little more tact and diplomacy when he's shouting about. To Dyric Rone, the chap has seen a lot of hard stuff as of late, bless his heart, but I think he made need a jar of smelling salts if he's going to be going on any future quests. To Althior Emorith, a hard hat (SP:1) to protect him from getting whacked on the head by undead monsters again. To Atramor Gibbin, some bird seed, he's got to feed that chicken of his something, perhaps it will also allow all flying monsters he runs into to become enamored with him for a battle or two. To Miss Nyx, she's quite taken with a certain frog and as I'm not around all the time to provide translation services, perhaps you could see to it that she gets one of those Sylvania's cowls I keep hearing about. To Tensi Hightribe, I'm sure she's acquired more swords since our last meeting. Perhaps a grating stone, to keep them all nice and sharp and ready for action. To Lord Lawrence Boomingham, I'm sure the old trooper is wishing me an uncomfortable bed and a cold breakfast right now, but what the hay, see to it that he has a bottle of mead to enjoy for the holidays. Oh, and put in a word with the higher up's for that angel of his too, I think he needs a vacation. To Sheherazade of Heroica Hall, an immaculately clean hall so she can have the day off. Thanks old chap, Skrall the Ogre Edited December 30, 2012 by Waterbrick Down
Endgame Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 A blue claw emerges from the floor, drops a letter off, and retracts back into the ground, fixing the tile on its way out. It reads: Dear Father Grogmas: All I've ever truly wanted most is to be able to see the world around me. Aquos.
PsyKater Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Another small note is found: Dear Father Grogmas,if you really exist, please donate a Magic Compass to Nessa Anarion, so she can find what she really wants. I'd also like to give a Robe of the Archmagi to Ellaria Arbour to show her that she is loved and has a destiny that is worth fighting for. And to Janek of Salmanda an Etheral Cloak, as he is so handsome and it would fit him pretty good, I think. Best wishes, Stígvélaði kötturinn Edited December 30, 2012 by PsyKater
Wedge09 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 A letter comes into the Hall: Dear Father Grogmas, below there would be gifts for some people: For Thalion a Zirconia, a very rare gem to cast spells of any elements, because he is a talented mage who prefers to use diplomacy than the sword and therefore deserve a great gem because he don't going to use it inappropriately. For Nessa Anarion an Eleven Bomb to make his fight easier and the hope of finding his precious gem. For Ellaria the hope of finding her child. For Cpt Jon. Mcency, who so wants a gift, a bottle of rum because he is a pirate and rum is a drink from pirates. Thank you, Alexander Vandangant
Fugazi Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Dear Father Grogmas, I have been really good this year, notwithstanding the killing of a number of creatures big and small, the theft of gold and valuable items from undeserving victims, and the occasional dirty expletive. Okay, I haven't really been good, but I'm only asking that you have a thought for my friends -- even though a Stretchy Rubber Band for me would be really really awesome! Besides, I may even interest Beatrice in some hot bonda.... um, never mind. The heroes I'm fighting with really deserve some presents for their sustained hard work in one of the longest Quest ever. I think that Sylph would do well with a Lens of Speed Reading (suitable for any class suitable for scrolls, allows a single scroll to be read in addition to a normal action, accessory). He has a free slot now and could cast his magic while still using that marvelous bow of his. Johon has had more than his share of bad luck in battle. Please give him a Dragon Scale (A scale pried from the hide of a dragon. Deals Lucky-effect and Blessed-effect) to help him turn his luck around! Elgar would surely love a Greasy Sausage (Raises maximum health by 2 permanently), while Lycan could use a Level-Up Mushroom (Raises level by 1 full level when used) to close the gap with the rest of our party. To Alexandre le Chevalier, always short on cash, I wish you would send Mercutio's Blessing (consumable, when applied to a weapon every successful hit reaps 1 gold -- permanent, cannot be stacked, can be used by any class) Then I wish you would also think of old friends from quests past. To Nyx and Rufindel, please send a Back to the Roots Talisman (+1 HP, +1 SP, +1 ether, +1 power when worn in a party including another Quest 0 old-timer) in memory of shared adventures and first steps together. And dear Cronk should receive a Shaken Can of Coke Bomb (20 damage to all enemies). Just because he's a noble Paladin doesn't mean that he can't have fun once in a while! Thank you Father Grogmas! PS: Oh, and to Sorrow (who I don't believe I have ever met) please give a Trial Brew, because it's quite unlikely he will ever be able to buy one himself!
Rumble Strike Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 To Father Grogmas, please keep my friends safe in whatever adventures they may be off having. A Nostrum each for Atramor, Ellaria, Nyx, and Althior and to make sure the odds are for ever in their favour, at least for a short while. Also special thoughts go to my dear Ella in Dastan, may she be allowed a wistful smile, and to Victor, a man stout of heart and blessed with more courage than anyone I have met. Yours respectfully, Tarn Valco.
CMP Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Dear Father Grogmas, Hell if I've been good, but I can think of more than a few people who deserve more stuff. To Alexis - Fifty Shades of Bley. The only person in the position to keep her from from becoming an official whore is Arthur, but he's probably too busy with his own deranged inner demons. To Althior - A bottle of Mulled Wine. Women troubles are nothing to poke fun at it, but get the hell over it. To Arthur - A Garnet. Mages are for gems, not for scrolls, mate. To Docken - One Grating Stone. There's more to life than shields. Like, weapons. To Cronk - A bowl of Dragonfire Stew (Gives the consumer the Encouraged, Inspired, Enraged, and Fragile effects for the duration of one battle). He needs to be able to bash better, and apparently he won't drink mead or wine. On a second thought, maybe you send him a carton of rum disguised as buttermilk? To De'kra - One Opal. I heard you're sorcerering now. Don't let the ether go to your head, you're crazy enough as it is. To Ellaria - One Woodsman's Trinket (Suitable for anyone, gives the wearer the Track Down job trait and makes all attacks wood-elemental, accessory). I heard you're looking for a kid and, as a druid, obsessed with trees. To Eric - A bottle of Mulled Wine. Dunno where the hell you got off to, but I hope wherever it is, the booze is as good as it is here. To Hoke - One Grating Stone. So your sword can become more able. Get it? To Hybros - One Amethyst. We must speak. To Boomingham - Ten Meads, ten Mulled Wines, ten Rums. If that doesn't loosen you up, I dunno what will. To Nyx - One Trendy Handbag. There are some High Heels in it for you too, if you get rid of that damn Healing Staff... To Rufindel - One Dragon Scale. When you get inevitably injured despite being Lucky, it comes with a Blessed effect too. To Skrall - Some Minimizing Dust. Just in case you ever get caught in a doorway or something on the way to Wren's lair. To Tarn - Berserker's Incense (Suitable for berserkers, the wearer can change targets at will, accessory). I know how crazy you guys can get. To Thothwick - Cursed Witch's Talisman (Suitable for Thothwick, the wearer's normal Hits become Judgmental Ape Hits, resulting in half the damage dealt being returned to Thothwick. Accessory.) Merry Grogmas. -AG Edited December 31, 2012 by CallMePie
TheBoyWonder Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Father Grogmas, I would like to send: Dreyugr : a Steak (WP1, Instantly kills Vampires.) Because all Vampires should die, the undead Scum. To Atramor, Mead because he likes a good drink. To Sorrow, Decaying Venom, because he's undead and too darn lucky. To Benji, 1 gold coin, because he can't earn any himself. To Sylph, an emerald, because you are a druid, and it would suit your style. Thanks.
K-Nut Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Dear Father Grogmas: Please give Alexis a Chastity Belt (Suitable for Alexis, grants enamored effect against PC's: Accessory). For obvious reasons. Besides, I may get some peace and quiet for once! Also give Arthur some Common Sense. Honestly, of all people, Alexis? Edited December 31, 2012 by K-Nut
Endgame Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) "Since it seems that Sorrow was stupid enough to only ask for one item, I suppose I shall make a list! Fifty Shades of Bley for Alexis. Who am I to stop a perfectly decent woman from brainwashing herself into a slut? For Guts, a grinding stone for his Lifestealer. And tap-dancing lessons, dear god his jigs make my eyes burn. For Ellaria, her baby back. Come on, people, I'm not heartless. For Galen, a stretchy rubber band. For whatever he may desire to use it for. Ooh la la. For Sylph, who seemed like a nice enough guy when I met him, an Emerald. For Johon, since he seems to get whacked around quite a bit, a Nostrum to keep him company. For Lycan, who served alongside me in Charis, a mint. Oh, and a mead. For Elgar, an ether core. Give it to me and I slit your throat. For Alex le Chevalier, a sum of 50 gold. Take it or leave it. For Nagure, a Dragon Scale. Poor "teddy bear" gets smacked around too much. And for Mizuki, some Trial Brew. I heard it goes well with cookies and milk." Edited December 31, 2012 by Endgame
Brickdoctor Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 For Master Hybros, a Cloak of the Red Assassin, but if that's too much to ask, perhaps a chance to purchase one. A Reaper of Ancestral Hatred wouldn't be a bad idea, either. For Master Guts Holla, that fourth and final Mythril Shard. For Master Atramor Gibbin, a vial of Insanely Overpowered Venom (causes the Insanely Overpoweringly Poisoned-effect; victims lose 100 Health per Round and the venom also affects all enemies normally immune to negative effects). For Master Xander Unth'or, who was cruelly forced to be left behind during part of his first quest, a Level-up Mushroom.
-obelix- Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) Dear father Grogmas, since I came to Eubric I have met several people that I feel have made an impact of my life. If you find them good and kindhearted as I do, you might want to consider giving them some gifts if your magical bag of wonder has these. For Nerwen Calmcacil, Thrice Blessed Amulet (Artefact, accessory; Usable once per quest and only by Nerwen, gives the wearer and her party a "Blessed, Lucky, and immune to Bound" effects for three rounds), for her patience, a gentle and kind heart and great wisdom. For Alexander Vandangant, Ranger's First Aid Kit (Artefact, accessory, usable only by Alexander; Once per battle the user can: "Remove all negative effects from a target" or "Heal the target for amount equal to users level" or "Focus the next "Miss" roll to "Tripleshot" roll"), for being very supportive and a great archer. For Dreyrugr, Pseudos Hood, for easier attacking and defeating enemies of that kind (or dare I say it, his own kind). For Janek of Salmanda, Amulet of Almost-every-language (Artefact, accessory; allows the wearer to understand and speak every language other then common), for he is already too good with common language. For Namyrra Uq, an Aquamarine, for she is wise leader and doesn't yet have this gem. Edited January 1, 2013 by -obelix-

Nagure- A teddy bear (Summons a minion that deals damage every 3 turns equal to the users level) Thanks and Happy Grogmas Mizuki.
Palathadric Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) A note comes in from a far-off battlefield: Really "Father Grogmas," what in tarnation is that? I don't believe a word of it, but because everyone around me seems to think that there is actually a possibility that you really will give away gifts, I would at least be willing to let you give some to my friends; but don't think you can get away with trying to slip some my way, I know better than to ask for presents from a being such as you...if you even exist! To Benji Carvenhall: Quiver of Deadly Poisoning, so that he will be able to bring down the demons we face with more ease than before. To Alisha Mortek: Chastity Belt (Grants Blessed Effect), so we won't throw herself around and continually distract fellow questers. To Leo: That he will come back to reality and stop living in a dream world. That he will follow a righteous path on not continue on in the ways of damnation. To Daxus Octavian: That his soul may rest in peace and that no demons may corrupt his body. To Erik Tyrvarr: Cowl of Diplomacy, since he's already such a kindly fellow who tries to make peace with all of those he comes in contact with, I just want it to be official. To Mizuki Kimura: 100 pieces of gold, because she's the least rogue-like rogue I have ever met, Also a Carton of Milk (Grants +1 Permanent Health), to go along nicely with her chocolate cookies. To the Vampire, who's name I do not know: That he'll get a chance to feel me new steak on his head in the arena. To the Elf, Alexis: Cloak of the Marks(wo)man (Gives user 1/6 chance of assassinating enemies), so that she will not fail any future quests and that her flesh will be less exposed. To Eric the Barbarian: Bear Cloak of Strength (+4 power), so he won't feel the need to guzzle down strong drink all the time, which is clearly due to some sort of inferiority complex. To Erdathcath Madilinas: A variety of venoms and bombs to add to her hefty collection. To "Sarge" Mcency: New Pegleg (Grants ability to deal Wood-elemental damage), because his old one is rotten and looks like it's ready to crumble under his weight. Again, I doubt you'll follow-up on anything said here, but in case you do, then I don't want to pass up an opportunity to get some of my old fellow questers some free gifts. herrJJ Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 'Thank you alot, Father Grogmas.' A distant voice can be heard.
