Legoman123 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I just really wish there was a cell for The Riddler and Bane. Quote
grymg Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I have the money and am debating whether to grab the Asylum now or wait until Black Friday to get the free holliday truck. Not sure how crowded it will be or if it will still be in stock though. Decisions. . . OK I caved, grabbed one in the afternoon today! Quote
Cammo Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) OK I caved, grabbed one in the afternoon today! Nice, you wont regret it, I assure you. Now build it with the new Batman Arkham Origins Soundtrack to make it more fun ;) Edited February 11, 2014 by Cammo Quote
stayunspoiled Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Haven't posted in ages... Some posters have mentioned lack of Riddler and Bane etc. Technically some characters belong in Arkham Asylum and others in Black Gate Prison. Harley was originaly tied to Arkham but in the New 52 comics she was placed in Black Gate Arkham (insane criminals): Joker Riddler Scarecrow Poison Ivy Mr. Freeze Two Face Killer Croc Black Gate (sane criminals): Bane Penguin Catwoman I'm picking my set up in a couple of weeks, is there any good MOC's around that use a second Asylum? haqi8888 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I like the building style. So i already get one for my own collection. Thanks your review~! Quote
biancawong Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Considering getting multiple copies of this set to make a complete Arkham Asylum MOC. At least one cell for each major villain in the city. :) Quote
Godtshep Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Thanks for the review! My son has this set- it's amazing! Quote
naf Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I'm not a huge super hero fan in general, but having just rewatched the Tim Burton Batman movies I started looking at some of the batman sets. I ended up getting the Riddler Chase set since it has a nice looking batmobile, and I'll probably get a couple of the other smaller sets in the line. This set is very tempting, but the price point keeps me away. Last year I bought the Haunted House, Ewok Village, and Orthanc, so I really don't think I can fit this one in my budget since I'm not a die hard batman fan. I really like the figures, I hope some of them like Poison Ivy and Scarecrow show up in smaller sets down the road. The little details in this set are outstanding. I really like that front gate. He's a smart guy. But nice set and excellent review, Cloney! I love the build of it, and the minifigs are great! Quote
Colossus Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I very much wanted to purchase this set, but it looks to me like a glorified facade. The detail in the set is AMAZING! However, I wish that it had at least another wall so it would have more of a semblance of an actual building. I agree that buying 2 sets would probably be plenty to make it look like a full set, but I can't afford $300 to achieve that look. Quote

It's not really about intelligence, but sanity, riddler basically kills for fun whereas Cateoman doesn't kill and the other two kill only those who get in their ways. Riddler is also really like, obsessed with riddles and question marks, and utterly destroying batman. Quote

B-Lister Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) When I was a kid I always wanted the big, expensive sets because they always had the cool features and interesting pieces, plus they were HUGE! But I learned when I became an AFOL that they only looked Huge because I was much smaller then. This set looks sufficiently big, and I can understand why some would say it feels smaller, but as stated previously, we don't have huge BURP pieces, or baseplates making up significant portions of the landscape. True, but then shouldn't Strange be in Arkham? And does Belle Reve exist in standard DC Canon? Gotham's prison is Blackgate. Most of the masked crooks Batman collars are sent to Arkham due to Due Process/Habeas Corpus. Batman, not being a recognized member of law enforcement is unable to effect a felony warrant, but due to the unstable mental states of these characters, can have them committed in a citizen's arrest type situation. But the point is some criminals batman captures do get into black gate. And some the GCPD get go to Arkham it's only all about mental stability Quote

Arkham Inmates(The Criminally insane): Joker, Freeze, Riddler, Zsasz, Croc, Hatter, Harley, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Two-Face, Strange. Quote
Bricktimus Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I got mine today! The box is so heavy! And so many bags! I cannot wait to get this bad boy built!!! Quote
Legoman123 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) Mr.Freeze is not insane. He is only at Arkham because they have the facilities to cater for him, but Blackgate does not. Edited March 15, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
