December 28, 201212 yr When you grow up and start working, Xmas could be any day of the year :) Totally Agreed! Since young (in the 80's), my parents couldn't afford to spoil us with Lego. I've this childhood encounter that I never forget my whole life when comes to toy. Every year, my parents will give us a budget of about US$40 to buy our favourite toy at Toys R Us. I happily picked-up 6921 thinking it was a complete set of the Space Trak Monorail. Nobody knows how miserable or happy I were but I actually played with the tracks and stands with my other toys for years and never request to get the complete set when I found out about 6990 ; ) Edited December 28, 201212 yr by Gene
December 28, 201212 yr I was skiing in the Pocono Mountain area and 2 days before Xmas a listing popped up on ebay for some MISB sets. After talking with the guy he had 28 sets that we made a deal on for less than 25% of their value. He lived only 30 mins from where I was skiing. The hardest part was getting all of our stuff to fit with the new bounty of legos on the way home. I managed to keep every box in PERFECT condition! The best ones? 5571 (Giant Truck) MISB for 125 and 7191 (StarWars X-Wing UCS) MISB for 150 I assume you already went out and bought a lottery ticket?

I remember a small set 8828 was biggest set I owned. I got it as Xmas present while I was in hospital. I loved it. Unfortunately all my lego is lost to me :(. I checked it and I could pick up same set for 8eu. It is a bit sad, that something that was soooooo expensive for you back in the day now is at same price as a meal in McDonald's :(. For example I spent 350eu on 3 lego sets for Xmas alone as an adult now. Broke my dark age this Xmas and I am finally having fun again.
December 28, 201212 yr I got the Lego 42000 grand prix racer on the 26th as it came out then in only 1 store if I recall correctly, its fairly good stuff
January 1, 201312 yr I bought 9391 for my kids to play with (age 3 and 6). After putting it together for them they LOVED it! My just-turned 6 year old tried to help put it together but the axels are still frustrating for his fingers. Solid model for the kiddos and it's holding up nicely to some pretty descent play. I suspect the string will be the first casualty...
January 2, 201312 yr Bought myself a second helicoptor and the logging truck for 60 euros at a post christmas sale (The only store to actually have discounts was a supermarket with a small toy section, but if that means I can pickup food and technic at once I'll deal with it) 2013 sets are all listed as feb. release here in germany, so no luck with any of those yet.

January 2, 201312 yr The logging truck? I wasn't expecting that either, I'm not sure if it was a mistake or not. The price on the shelves was not marked down, but they had a couple of the sets in the post christmas sale area with 60 euro stickers on em, and I couldn't resist picking one up. Almost forgot, also bought a used 8288 off ebay for ~60 which was the last thing on my (technic) wishlist. Now I just need to buy more shelves for the 2013 models.
January 16, 201312 yr My x-mas was superb! Unfortunately my computer broke down also so no picture upload until now, but I let the picture speak for itself. My wife and my mom bought for me new 9398, MISB 8421 and total surprise 8851 in opened box but all parts still in original sealed plastic bags! with vent holes! Including all instructions and 80's leaflets.

January 16, 201312 yr Santa was also good to me. I got a 9396 Helicopter, and had it built by suppertime on Christmas! I also got Sariel's book. Yesterday, I got a couple books: the Lego Book and the Art of Lego Mindstorms Nxt-G Programming!
