Kronos Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 February..? That sucks.. I already have plans for them... That center hub is just the same thing on the Unimog/Crawler isn't it..? Yeah, same part. Quote
stan_the_man Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 I make that 1135 parts from the parts list, not too bad I suppose for the price tag Quote
T900OON Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Morning all, I managed to complete the model last night, about 5 hours build time! Really pleased with the size of it, much bigger than I expected. Size compared to 8263 - Snow Groomer Size compared to 9394 - Jet Plane Size compared to 10220 - VW Campervan & 9390 - Mini Tow Truck Along with my other F1 models If you would like photos of specific parts I'll do my best to upload them. shadowhearth Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 nice one m8! any chance to show us pics of alternative model? at least box picture? It does look massive. quite a good selection of parts too. any chance of rear pictures? maybe engine bay opened? and what sort of power functions they are on about? i have to say this model really really grows on me! Quote
efferman Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 could you please remove a wheel from the front axle and make a picture of the front suspension? thank you very much Quote
rm8 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Cool! The "most paneled" set I know:) musthave Quote
T900OON Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Please find below the photos of under the engine cover, power features, alternate model & front right suspension. Quote
W0lF Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Very cool model, lots of good parts. But motorization spoils the whole look even worse than the 8070 rear view. Quote
rener Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Very nice pics! I was wondering if there is a (working!) steering wheel present in the cockpit, or just HOG-steering? Edited December 27, 2012 by rener Quote
efferman Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 thanks in advance for the pictures! the pushrod on the front suspension, does it is sitting at the lower end on a simple towball, a 3L pin with friction or a towball with with two pins? Quote
Hopey Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 So are there 5L half beams (+OOO+) on the back of the front steering? Quote
T900OON Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Hi Rener, I can confirm that there is a working steering wheel in the cockpit, although it is a rather tight squeeze to operate it. I guess thats why they linked it to the HOG-steering. Quote
T900OON Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Efferman - Below are the instructions for the pushrod assembly on the front; Hopey - Yeah, there are 6x 5L halfbeams (+OOO+) on the front suspension; Quote
me00rjb Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Just managed to pick up a copy of this set - here's the new parts: 5L half beams will be really useful. But why-oh-why did they go and change the colour of the crankshaft pieces to tan? I'm still struggling with blue 3L pins and dark tan 3L axles with stud. Tan just doesn't seem like a proper Technic colour to me! Richard. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 The new wheel holder pieces look nice! Glad they opted for holes - one could insert towball pins so the rotation point lines up with the connection with the inner dark-gray part. I assume the dark-gray part can accept the CV joint parts, right? Anyhow, the set looks very interesting. I want one. Quote
shadowhearth Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 T900OON, thx for pics bud. i will deffo go for this, but i will wait for other retailers to have it in stock. no way i will pay argos 120eu for it! Quote
skyliner Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Thanks, thought this set may be on sale early, didnt expect it so soon, just bought 2 sets :) Quote
Lakop Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Yep. It's available in Leeds at £79.99. I have plans for my own F1 model. H Quote
captainmib Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 This set looks good, i like the suspension technique. Not going to buy this for € 120. Is Argos again too early with selling this set, or do they have an exclusive? Anyone know when this set will be available in the rest of Europe? Quote
TimH Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Thanks for the pictures T900OON. This set is going on my wanted list. Quote
me00rjb Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Here's a picture of both new hub parts - I forgot the non-steering one was new as well! Both accept the dark bluish grey hub part that also fits the portal axle part. Richard. Quote
