Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 This is the news I have been waiting so long for! Gen 3 was where things began for me with Pokémon, and Emerald is still my favourite Pokémon game to this date (it would be X if there was more to do after the story is completed), so I'm very happy that I get the chance to relive these games in 3D and with all the new Pokémon. Plus, Groudon is still one of my favourite legendaries, so I can't pass up an opportunity to catch it again. Quote
Ultron Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I'M SO EXCITED!!! I've been waiting for this for years!!!! So happy right now. Quote
BrickG Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I honestly remember almost nothing about Gen 3. Probably my least memorable gen. I'll buy one anyways :p. Quote
Ultron Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 In case any of you haven't seen this "sneak peek", it came out the other day. Not much to it, but still something to watch! Quote

simonjedi Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 R/S/E came out during my Pokemon "dark age" so I don't have the sort of crazy nostalgia that some people seems to have for Gen 3. I've pre ordered the game regardless. But I really want MY gen (R/B/Y) to be made in glorious 3D. Quote

As classic as R/B/Y are, they're dreadfully boring compared to the colorful stories and regions from Gen 3, 4, and 5. 6 was okay. Quote

I can see what you're saying, but Gen 2 is still the most "colorful" in terms of the regions in my opinion, but I think Gen 4's story is my favorite. Quote
Spider-Man Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 A remake of Fire Red would be fantastic. I agree! Having those island quests would be pretty great, however I still think they would have to add something more to it. Maybe including the Orange League Gyms and Orange Islands? Quote
Mr Man Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Maybe including the Orange League Gyms and Orange Islands? That would be good. When I first heard there were islands, I expected it to be the Orange Islands. Quote

Team Galactic is my favorite. I especially love the story from Platinum. Johto is a nice region though, especially in HG/SS graphics. Hoenn I think is my favorite geographic region though. It's extremely diverse since it's tropical. I would love to see Kanto in 3-D! If they did some kind of remake of Pokemon Yellow with some more story add ons (such as a Mew story arc or something along those lines) I would be a happy spider! Well they did trademark "Pokemon Water Blue" way back when so maybe we'll see that title used if they remake them. I think they will definitely remake or sequel (I'm praying for a sequel to Platinum) the Sinnoh region before returning to Kanto. Kalos was too similar to Kanto honestly for it to be remade any time soon. The legendary birds and Mewtwo were the only non-kalos legendaries to appear in the game, snorlax was sleeping on a road, you get the Kanto starters, etc. They pretty much covered Kanto. I think they purposely did that so they don't have to go back their again. Just a hunch. I agree! Having those island quests would be pretty great, however I still think they would have to add something more to it. Maybe including the Orange League Gyms and Orange Islands? Maybe in ORAS we'll have some new islands to visit in the postgame? There wasn't much of one in R/S/E except for maybe the Battle Frontier and going around to a few small islands. The orange or Sevii islands would be a nice touch especially since the former haven't even appeared in a game. Edited June 15, 2014 by Ultron Quote
Flipz Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I adore Hoenn, but mostly because of the way they had TWO villainous teams in Emerald--that was brilliant, and it's the main reason I'm secretly hoping for a 3D Emerald remake (even though I know it's not going to happen). If it's just one real villainous team per version...eh. It's not like it'd be bad, but even though I have a real soft spot for a lot of the Hoenn Pokemon, it wouldn't be enough to make AS a day-one purchase for me. (That said, I'm a total sucker for Sinnoh stuff since that's where I met the franchise, so if that ever gets remakes there's like a 90% chance I will be all over that. ) Quote

Still should be great though. Yeah I'd love to go back to Sinnoh. Platinum sequel with Cyrus returning, anybody? Quote
Lego Spy Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Seeing as no one had posted it yet, I just thought I'd throw Mega Sableye into the mix. Who knows, maybe Sableye could be bumped up to OU again! As for remakes, I would like to see a Kanto remake, but Game Freak will probably wait 2 or 3 years for that. I think a Platinum remake would be great as well, but it also probably won't be until 2 or 3 years from now. After Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire I would think we would see another Kalos based game before going to another remake. Quote

I actually did post that above at the beginning of my post in a link But it was revealed Mega Sableye has Magic Bounce and gets a boost in Special Attack and Defense, but a decrease in speed. Here's the official picture: I love it's face refracted (I think) in the gem Rupee! Quote

Oops! Sorry about that, I missed the link. I can definitely see some possible Stealth Rock countering strategies for this guy. (Especially since only one other Pokemon can have it as its ability, and three with it as a hidden ability.) Edited June 21, 2014 by Lego Spy Quote

(Especially since only one other Pokemon can have it as its ability, and three with it as a hidden ability.) It's all good It looks like they're trying to make Sableye offensive. It's too bad it doesn't have Prankster but I suppose Magic Bounce isn't awful. Although I was kinda hoping for Wonder Guard (Which was never gonna happen). Quote
Richila Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I preordered my Omega Ruby on Friday. I have played every generation and have really enjoyed Y. My all time favorite Pokemon is Bulbasaur. I am currently running a Psychic team in Y. Quote
Ultron Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 New megas: Secret Bases were also confirmed along with contests. Quote

Ultron Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 There are also rumors of an event involvinag a shiny beldum and its mega stone. Looks like I wasted my time breeding one last year... EDIT: Scratch that, it's confirmed. http://www.gamnesia.com/news/shiny-beldum-event-announced-for-omega-ruby-and-alpha-sapphire#.U-ZkgCjDM5R Aw that's stinks you bred one! I wonder if this will be the only way to get the metagrossite, kinda like the blazikenite for X&Y. Hopefully they don't release a shiny swablu too though..Altaria is my most prized wild shiny that I've found! Quote

BrickG Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Breeding itself in Pokemon is terrible. Since IVs are set and unchangeable it just makes you get rid of all of your old Pokemon. It's odd that a game that is about the bond you're supposedly supposed to have with your Pokemon encourages you to ditch them for a genetically superior specimen. I don't usually condone cheating but I cheat for my Pokemon :P. Max out the IVs. EVs are at least much more editable now though. They really need a way to train your IVs so Pokemon stops being a Eugenics War. Now shiny I can live with. They make no different in battle. Quote
