AussieJimbo Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Given this thing flys nicely, how about a double rotor LEGO Chinook. i.e. a LEGO bodied Chinook with non-LEGO RC helicopter rotors and avionics. :classic:
piterx Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Yeah i totally agree with mbmc thats an heli with some lego parts attached xD
Zerobricks Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 I got another idea for tandem version for heli. Maybe if i could use a pair of the same rotors, but tilt them so they redirect thrust in the opposite direction, they want to spin the heli. This way I can use same rotors without mirroring them, and still make the model float without turning arround... Gonna see what i can do!
AVCampos Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Actually, that's exactly how the PicooZ TandemZ works: its two rotors spin in the same direction, with one of them slightly tilted sideways.
Zerobricks Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 For now because the RC motors got pretty hot and I dont want to ruin them.
astakos Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 i would like to try make a quadcopter with 4 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=2838c01 and 3x4 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=89509 have you tried doing anything similar ? if you did try, and you had no success, please tell me, so i give up before even starting. you might save me some money and effort !!!
Zerobricks Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 I tried that motor and its too weak, sorry.
astakos Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 let me ask you again.. have you tried to increase the peripheral speed instead of the rpm ? for example not connecting the single blade to the center, but using a 5 or 7 liftarm..?
Lego Fan 1300 Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 that picture awhile back posted January 9 2013, where did you get those propellers? I have been interested with flying Lego bricks but have only had them fly when they unintentionally come apart
AVCampos Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 You mean this post? The prop blades in the images are 89509s:
