February 28, 201312 yr I agree, but in some points.I agree that next year probably see next supercar(Three years after last supercar is main reason to think about it) and also probably with new wheels. But I dont think so, it will be motorised. We have there 9398 and this year also technic challenge winner. I think it will be first half set, but this year we have also car based vehicle .But who knows... I am not so sure about that. The last Supercar 8070 has just gone off the shelves and EOL. It also has been seriously discounted for a longer time, which might have been due to lacking or less than estimated demand. I´ve rarely seen a technic set going at almost 50% below retail in the last 4 years. So i think there is more time to pass. What i would really like to see is these in Technic, as Flagships or 42008 size. Please dont forget to include 15 to 20 Orange 5x11 Panels all along... A great MOC is this one: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=493478 I also consider a cement-mixer something which is unseen and special. More Blue and White should also be always welcomed by the Technicans, i guess. Pics provided from: http://lego.brickinstructions.com/ What do you think of such Sets?
February 28, 201312 yr But Im curious which machine will have that honor and will be wearing new wheels and tyres next year.Motorbike?Motorbikes already have new wheels and tyres.Trucks?I think not, if yes they will already do it this year.Cars?High probability here, same with heavy machinery. Also there is high probability to see rc flagship next year.

A big 5-axle concrete truck would be awesome!!! A garbage truck would also be interesting though.
February 28, 201312 yr Hi guys, Have rediscovered my love of all things Technic recently after more than a 10 year gap. Just couldn't resist the 8258 Crane Truck set, was an absolute blast building. Looking at the sets in this thread and am I'm very interested in 42009 MkII Crane. Just have a couple of questions: 1) Are Lego Technic sets made available to pre-order, and if so where is best to do so? 2) Secondly, approx what kind of time do they become available to pre-order (if indeed they do) based on previous August released sets? All and any info is muchly appretiated and I am proper excited to be back in game!!! Paul
February 28, 201312 yr As far as I know, no, and never. I've never encountered lego sets being up for preorder.
February 28, 201312 yr Pre-ordering is sometimes possible with certain webshops.. Delivering will be on the first (plus a few for sending) day of release then.
March 11, 201312 yr Well this topic has been quiet for some time now I just noticed but does it seem like this model of the 42009 has a higher ground clearance than the botom one?
March 11, 201312 yr I don't think the clearance is different. It might look that way because of the difference in pictures size or viewing angle. Edited March 11, 201312 yr by Gekke Ted
March 11, 201312 yr Hmmm... these are interesting comparsion pictures. We already noticed differences, but this is a very good example to see how much the turrets differ. Just check the back part - as argued there are missing panels, but i just realised first, that the booms (lifting arms) have also completely different built-up structure. I am really curious how the final design will look like. One is sure: if i buy one, there can be made a lot of improvement.
March 11, 201312 yr There one thing for sure, this model looks way better with the stickers on. Looks very plain without them.
March 11, 201312 yr A cement mixer would be a challenging build. Looking forward to the new sets. I'm torn between the crane and the tow truck. H
March 11, 201312 yr A bit off topic: I've noticed that they have cleverly avoided friction in the boom by using wheels for the extension to roll on. I got tempted to try it out myself, and just wondered what are the smallest wheels to have a pin/axle mounting? Edit: This perhaps? Edited March 11, 201312 yr by Pauger
March 13, 201311 yr Couple of (maybe) new pictures, they are big, so i just put the links here: http://www.leg-technic.hu/images/postgallery/lego-technic-42009_1360490962.jpg http://www.leg-technic.hu/images/postgallery/lego-technic-42009-mobile-crane-mk-ii_1360492729.JPG http://www.leg-technic.hu/images/postgallery/lego-technic-f1_1360492633.JPG http://www.leg-technic.hu/images/postgallery/lego-42008-service-truck_1360492506.JPG http://www.leg-technic.hu/images/postgallery/lego-42008-service-truck_1360492524.JPG source: http://www.leg-technic.hu/hirek_erdekessegek/33/amiert-erdemes-lesz-nyaron-is-a-lego-t-vasarolni-1-resz
March 14, 201311 yr wow the 42009 boom looks huge! it doesnt look like it can carry much weight Is it me or do you guys think the outriggers should be longer?

You can use this tire with 1/2 technic bush. 1/2 bushes can be use as rims with this tires.
June 5, 201311 yr --edit-- also already in the pinned topic 42008 building proces + B model source: http://www.technicbricks.com/ Edited June 5, 201311 yr by IJsmuts
June 5, 201311 yr where the heck did you bought that 42008? Is it already available? Sadly it is not mine, the pics are from a show somewere in portugal where they build the whole thing Edited June 5, 201311 yr by IJsmuts
June 23, 201311 yr It looks to me like the wheels on the new mobile crane are the same ones used on the Unimog - are they? I get my tires and wheels confused all the time... I don't think so. If you look closely, the rims seem to have a "4185 Dark Bluish Gray Technic Wedge Belt Wheel (Pulley)" on the outside, likely put on the end of the axle the rims are on. If the tires were Unimog tires, the space between this part and the edge of the rims and tires would have been bigger. I think the tires are smaller, maybe the same tires that's on the 9397 Logging Truck, which is 62.4 / 20.9. The rims look different, so they might be new, but I think the tires are the same. June 23, 201311 yr I keep forgetting that I can just check that list... well, so the tires are 62.4 x 20, about the size of the Logging Truck tires.
