Luc2000 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Offtopic, @davidmull Just out of curiosity, is there a reason your posts are written so... terrible? (I guess you know what I mean). I don't mean this specific post, but just in general. Are you dyslectic or just lazy? I'm not saying my posts are written that good - English isn't my native language - but you're from Ireland, where they speak English Quote

davidmull Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I am not too sure about that. I think luc 2000 has spelling issues he can't except :) Anyway back on topic :) Has anyone an idea what functions 42008 will have? I'm hoping at least 3 functions! Quote
Rick Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 My son has finally reached an age that we can build and play Legos together, he is very interested in construction related vehicles and that is what I've been researching... After going through all the years seeing how they have progressed to me the biggest construction related flagship they are missing is a dump truck. I really wish they would make one as now Im setting up a budget to buy some sets... I'll probably buy this crane but just as easily could of found a copy of the 8421, unlike the bulldozer 8275 which I can't get my hands on at all. Just seems like a soft model compared to what was really needed, every year has some kind of crane modl it seems Let's try to stay on-topic here. shadowhearth Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I am not too sure about that. i think that was the joke! anyway, i am a bit new to the hole H1 and H2 set thing. when can we expect proper releases of H1 stuff and H2? i am looking forward to sink my teeth in to 42000. Then ofc to see proper reviews and pricing of H2 stuff. i am asking, because i want to know if i can put some money in to older sets now and dont be completely money-dry when new sets coming out. legomuppet9 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 The 1H sets (except the F1 car) are coming out tomorrow (1st January) whilst the F1 car is being released around March (although Argos already have it). The 2H sets are being released in August. Quote

Meatman Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) thank you! any idea why they releasing F1 so late? its almost an H2 set then? For the past few years Lego has been releasing a "Spring" set. With the 9397 logging truck last year and the 8070 Supercar the year before. I think that Argos released both of those sets early as well, but not as early as the 42000 set. i think that was the joke! LOL. At least someone got it. Edited December 31, 2012 by Meatman Quote
Tkavan01 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Thanks everyone. And now back on-topic please. Sorry I was just adding my comment on the sets released, and dreaming about what I wish had been released. Quote
Rick Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Sorry I was just adding my comment on the sets released, and dreaming about what I wish had been released. That's ok, but with so many people reading and posting you see how quickly a thread can go off-topic. Quote
Robert M Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I need to have a Mega year next year. I'd like 8069, 8109, 9397 and now 42009. I'm not too keen on the green of 42008, but I'm sure it will grown on me, as I never wanted 9398. From zooming in on the Boxes, I can vouch that 42009 will have an XL motor, with a complicated gearbox which enables it to have 4 functions, extending the boom, extending legs, lifting the boom and rotating the boom. As it has 5 axles, I think it will have 4 turning turning axles, and 1 without should be in the center. This would be the most prototypical although I don't see it being like this as it would be very expensive. I would say it's the same width as 8258 and a similar length. 42008 I think uses the wheels off of 8109 with the same tyres. I expect that it will include an L motor although the reason for this is unclear as I believe I read that it uses pneumatics. The other two sets are just the bog standard simple Lego set which has nothing really to evaluate. Quote
davidmull Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I'm not sure about an xl motor on the crane but its possible with all the functions , I hope we do get an L motor in the service truck but it might not be needed to drive a pneumatic pump. Quote
Porty Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Anybody notice there is the orange lift up flap on the MK2 Mobile Crane and the ages are also much higher. It's easy to me to tell that the crane is our flagship. I'll be betting it cost $200 dollars, as has turned into the norm for flagships. And if they follow the same pattern as last year, the service truck will be the march set and cost $140... Only thing is, we still have to decide where 42000 grand prix racer set fits in... We get 2 in march maybe... Quote
jantjeuh Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I agree that the crane will be the flagship for 2013. I hope there will be plenty of space for motorization :) Quote
Daniel-Technic Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Will the 42009 crane have special parts? I have so many sets that I think I have enough pieces to build it.... :-) Quote

People are finding it hard understand this for some reason. Quote
Milan Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Mobile cranes are probably the best for flagships. Anyone recognize them, they are usually big, have great range of functions and are often seen in real life. Plus, Technic community seems to enjoys them pretty much. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) To make this clearer.... January sets: 42002 hovercraft 42004 mini backhoe loader 42006 excavator 42007 motocross bike 42010 off road racer 42011 racecar March sets: 42000 grand prix racer August sets: 42001 off road racer 42005 monster truck 42008 service truck 42009 mobile crane mkII And the LEGO Technic Challenge Winner Also on Brickset, there is a set 42003 "Action Race Car" might this be Technic Challenge winner's set number perhaps? I don't know when this set will be released. Edited January 1, 2013 by legomuppet9 Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 The Fl car is available now in Argos for those in the uk,I guess it is the same as the logging truck last year. I think the 42003 is a pull back car. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 "Action race car" is 42011. Action refers to the pull back action. No idea what 42003 is though. Quote
