Fianat Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) CCCX Ras-al-Jabar This story tells us a tale of a gorgeous and rich land now buried under the sands, Ras-al-Jabar "An old castle called Ras-al-Jabar was built hundreds of years ago by Emir of Rabaat in the southern realm of Mamlakat. The Salam river runs through these lands and it is the main source of fresh water and fish. Ras-al-Jabar is the center of trade and learning. Markets impress everyone by rich variety of products from all over the world. Ras-al-Jabar's library is still the largest in the southern region. This castle provided safety and defence to the whole land. But its greatness fell when The Dark times began..." __________________________ CCCX Ras-al-Jabar by Fianat, on Flickr CCCX Ras-al-Jabar by Fianat, on Flickr CCCX Ras-al-Jabar by Fianat, on Flickr CCCX Ras-al-Jabar by Fianat, on Flickr CCCX Ras-al-Jabar by Fianat, on Flickr CCCX Ras-al-Jabar by Fianat, on Flickr This is my first entry for the Colossal Castle Contest 2012 in the Miscellaneous Category Deeplinks : Brickshelf Set More Pictures Thanks for viewing! kris kelvin Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) This is one of the best dioramas from lego I`ve ever seen. Just beautiful :) PS. WOW, FIRST!!! :D Edited December 30, 2012 by kris kelvin Quote
Legonardo Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 should be in guilds of historica, its flying kaliphlin colors. brilliant, good luck in the contest! ~Legonardo Quote
Maxim I Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Same remark as Legonardo, shame on you that you are not a member of Kaliphlin!!! A beautifull city like this would be certainly a great addition I love how you made these eastern houses between the sea and the castle :) Also a really epic castle! It's a really awesome architecture, but I got one remark for the colour: In my opinion, grey is not really the best choice for an eastern castle, they were mostly tan, white, dark tan, ... I have to admit that it fits the mountain where it is built in, but that makes it look like a dark shadow over the city Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Tremendous build! Not only are the buildings phenomenal the landscape is also impressive Quote
Rogue Angel Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 This is a fantastic MOC! I love the fortress, the buildings in front, the ship, the awnings, the sheep enclosure, and the ton of small details you have included. This is indeed a superb MOC on a scale rarely seen! Amazing work! Quote
Wedge09 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 *oh2* Impressive work, I really like the style of the rounded towers Quote
Kelmanator Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Really well done! That is an amazing creation, it is so beautiful and entrancing to look at. The buildings and architecture are really good; like a snap shot in time.I am always facinated by middle-eastern builds and this is the best one I have ever seen. About the ship, where did your inspiration come from? Was it a set or your own build? Edited December 30, 2012 by Kelmanator Quote
Speedboat Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Great MOC, Fianat! Some impressive techniques, especially on the houses. Plus the scale of the whole build is just beautiful! And I love those cute little sheep. Quote
Palathadric Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Love the mountain/castle. This would totally fit in with the other MOCs for the Kaliphlin guild, as others have mentioned. Great work! Quote
Infernum Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Wow! This is sheer, stunning perfection! Amazing scale! Love the rockwork! Great work! Quote
mrcp6d Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Truly amazing, lots of details in a REALLY big MOC. The guy chasing the monkey with the battleaxe is hilarious. Quote
Redhead1982 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Well done! The diorama itself is amazing. I was most impressed with the architectural style. Good luck in the contest. Quote
gedren_y Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I first saw this when it was blogged about at Brothers Brick, and the Flickr stream went directly into my Favorites Techniques folder for later study. Be proud, because it takes quite some skill and ingenuity to become reference material for me. Quote
Brickington Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Amazing is an insult, this is indescribably, well done ( and those two words are insults as well). Quote
gundamz Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Awesome! I particularly liked how you built the mountain near the back and then integrated it with the buildings. Quote
Gunman Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Wow excellent build..... Had already faved in flickr Quote
Fianat Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Thanks, guys!) I am very glad to see this coments. About the ship, where did your inspiration come from? Was it a set or your own build? Firstly, I thought that my ship would be little remake of Ninja-go set, but now there is only one similarity- sail)) Quote
rpmac91 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I love how well the castle is integrated into the mountain! Also, I really like the detailing on the white house. Quote
streifen Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Awesome diorama! The rockface and the beach is really GREAT! The awnings you made with the buildings have a distinct Arabic feel to them! Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I like what you did with the gate. It's simple but effective. Quote
