Thirdwigg Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) The Typhoon is amazing. A functional technic chassis covered up with system parts for a great look and details you just can't get with studless techniques. Excellent work Looking forward to the helicopter. A very interesting project. Good luck with that, it's not easy getting all the fucntions of a helicopter rotor in good working order. Yep, the rotor head is the easy part, it's the swashplate and the controls where it gets difficult. I made some good progress last night. Edited August 6, 2014 by Thirdwigg Quote
Thirdwigg Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Making some progress on The Queue. The ATS. The MD 600N. Also the JCB 531 is done. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Another small little project. This one inspired by set 6546. With working flat four engine, four wheel suspension, and steering. Building instructions available. Much more at thirdwigg.com. Enjoy. Quote
weavil Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 That's neat. It looks like the 42000 had a baby. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) Fantastic, have you tried it with the 42008 wheels or are they too small? Where did you get the stickers, your design? Edited October 2, 2014 by MajklSpajkl Quote
Paul Boratko Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 That Octan F1 car is awesome... I had just seen that on Brickshelf today... Quote
Thirdwigg Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 Fantastic, have you tried it with the 42008 wheels or are they too small? Where did you get the stickers, your design? Thanks, the stickers are from set 60025. The wheels from 42008 were a little too small for my liking, and didn't work too well with the suspension. That Octan F1 car is awesome... I had just seen that on Brickshelf today... Thanks. It was a fun little project. Quote

Alasdair Ryan Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) Obviously the builder of this plane got to close to the propeller as it was going around which made him lose most of his hair....maybe this has got something to do with his username.... Edited October 19, 2014 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
piterx Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 oh my god that airplane is fantastic! great work on the f! as well but damn...the airplane Quote
Thirdwigg Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 Quickly finished another trial truck. Finding a good independent suspension idea is more difficult than it should be. Happy Building. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I love your trucks man!!! I realy like how flat you make them. How are that CV joints holding under stress? Do they pop out, or did you manage to brace them enough? Btw., T55 is also my favourite of yours :-) Quote

It may be part of the reason so many of my trucks look the same. The CV joints have had no problems. They have not come out. There is no room for them to move as they connect right next to the UJoint.Yeah, I like the T55 a lot too. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 To celebrate my ten year anniversary of exiting the Dark Ages, I created a MOD to the set that brought me back, 8386. Same bodywork, but I added suspension, 4 speed gearbox, and added a little more white. Much more at thirdwigg.com. Enjoy. Quote
Rishab N Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Nice work. I like the gearbox linkages Quote
sm 01 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Very nice, I like this formula much more than 42000! Congratulations on the tenth birthday Quote

Thirdwigg Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 Last night I completed the ATS. Finally. Pictures and full publishing will be done soon, but until then I had to tell someone. It's been a long time coming. Quote
Rishab N Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Been watching this project for a while. Really looking forward to the pics Quote
Thirdwigg Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 I spent a little time away from building getting my building room organized, and spending a lot of time sorting. I am back to building and working on 4 projects from The Queue. The MD600 is making slow progress, as is the Allroad, so I thought I should spend a little time working on another tank. The T-55 has all the suspension set, has placement for the PF L motors for drive in the rear. The battery will be in the front, followed by two PF M for the turret rotation and gun elevation. Enjoy. Thirdwigg Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 Sometimes it feels like I am not accomplishing anything but WIPs. I guess all the projects will get finished at the same time, and I'll have a busy month. Here is the progress on the CAT 586c that is being constructed from The Queue. The MD600 is getting very close (finally), and something else small and fun is about to be published. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 A fun little airplane for this week. More coming soon. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 I started another car recently; this one based on the Ferrari 333 SP. This WIP uses pushrod type suspension, but I don't like it. After fooling around with it, basic shocks mounted to the A-arm and frame work with more crispness, are just as low in mounting, and provide a stiffer setup. Is model accuracy really worth it? Quote
