Thirdwigg Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 I finished the Unimog 437 chassis last night. Before the rest of if is finished, I figured I would give a little update on this project. The long wheelbase chassis has front and rear live axles, four wheel drive, steering, and a I4 engine. It is set up with manual control, but allows for PF upgrades. Exhaust on the left, and a fuel tank on the right. I have completed three cabs, which will attach to the front at four points. Also, multiple rear attachments are at various points of completion. I will have available a short and long three way tipper bed, a military canvas bed, Power Functions drive pack, knuckleboom crane, and a salt spreader. A camper too, if I can stay motivated. Stay tuned... Also, @Didumos69, the transmission on the Car above works great. That should be finished soon as well. At least soon on my timeframe. Quote
AFOLegofan66 Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 I really like what you have done so far!! Quote
Thirdwigg Posted April 10, 2018 Author Posted April 10, 2018 All three cabs are done for the 437. The power pack is done, and two of the four rear beds are done. Then I just need to finish the video and the photo all of the setups. Here is a closeup of the tipper mechanism for the bed that matches the Doka cab. Quote
1gor Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 (edited) Nice This tilting bed somehow reminds me on my solution on 1:18 Unimog U423 long wheelbase... Edited April 10, 2018 by I_Igor Quote
Thirdwigg Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 I currently have 4 MOCs that are about 80% complete, which proves my lack of focus. I would love to finish all of them, like tomorrow. But looking through the dates of past updates, it's unlikely. The Unimog 437, is close to being done. This is the short wheel base version with all the same hardpoints as the long wheel base version. Supercars frustrate me. I love working on the driveline, but the body work stalls me (see super sedan as well.) I am pleased enough with were this is at and that I will finish it, but it may take some more time. Thanks to @Didumos69 the transmission works perfectly now. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted February 19, 2019 Author Posted February 19, 2019 A while ago I had an idea for a piggyback forklift. I intended to have it be a part of a larger MOC with a 15 stud wide truck, trailer, and cargo. Maybe someday I'll make something to go with it, or someone else can. In the meantime, I am going to post this, and move on to other projects. Features Steering Fork lift Fork tilt Fork extension 15 studs wide Quote
1gor Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Cute little simple forklift, and it is blue. I never thought that blue looks so good on forklift Quote
Thirdwigg Posted May 1, 2019 Author Posted May 1, 2019 I saw @Cumulonimbus post on the 42093 thread his nearly C-Model Porsche 911 GT3. I was posted as I was working on my own 911, which is the exact same size. Since mine is not related to 42093, I figured I would post it here. I currently have a lot of projects being worked on, so we'll see how long it take for this to get completed. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 (edited) OK, I have not touched this car for over a year now, so I am calling it done. Not finished, but no more work will be put into it. In fact, I already disassembled it. But I felt it still was worth sharing. Enjoy. Features: Steering (Wheel, HOG) Suspension V-8 Four Speed Tranmission Opening doors, trunk, and hood John Deere tractor inbound soon.... Edited July 15, 2019 by Thirdwigg Quote
Thirdwigg Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 (edited) The 964 911 is getting closer. With steering, opening doors and hood, and working flat 6. Oh, and a ducktail spoiler of course. There is a part of me that thinks 42098 is a little gimmicky, but I am falling for building cars in the scale. Those little panels are super fun. Edited August 26, 2019 by Thirdwigg Quote
grego18f Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 I like what I see. I have some questions though. Is it possible to break the line on the hood to reduce the gap with the fenders? Could you make the rear section of the roof less domed, more progressive? Quote
Thirdwigg Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 The front hood gap has been resolved. Agree with the roof as well. Looking at @steph77's 911, I am wondering if I can do something like this. I like having ridged roofs as this gives a good handhold while playing, so I'll see if I can come up with a good solution that gives a better curve. Quote

I spent some time this morning working on the roof. Its a little better as I added an orange connector #1 to the top mounting of the soft axle hoses. The curve is more progressive now. Good? Quote
Thirdwigg Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) It seems a number of projects are finishing up at the same time. This is the trailer for my Iveco Hooklift. I am waiting on a couple more parts, then I'll post it. Edited September 1, 2019 by Thirdwigg Quote
jorgeopesi Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) Great use of the panels , I didn´t know that those new central panels had the same curve of the old near ones. Edited August 31, 2019 by jorgeopesi Quote
Thirdwigg Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 I lot of projects are coming to completion in Thirdwiggville lately. Here is the Porsche 911RS 964. Heavily influenced by @paaves two 911 versions. In little Porsche 911 in the scale of LEGO 42098. Features: -Steering -Flat 6 Engine -Opening Hood, Doors, and Trunk When it sits next to the car from 42098, it looks a little out of scale, but it's really close. Quote
jorgeopesi Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 The same bonnet with less roof would be even better I think. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 Instructions for the 911RS are posted if you are interested. Find them here. . Quote
Thirdwigg Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 These new 68.7mm tires are pretty awesome. Quote
1gor Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 How would it look with rear 94.3 tires from Unimog (can you please take photo; and upload it)? (That is what I have planned to make with one future project for "kommunal" tractor) Thanks Quote
