legomuppet9 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Please note: this is not my creation I was aimlessly looking at Lego Technic stuff on youtube and came across this: I haven't found it on here, but I thought you guys would be interested to see the mechanisms, as they look very complex for such a small model , plus the fact it looks so cool It is also vote-able on cuusoo: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/22356 Thoughts? skppo Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) The thing I love the most is that the treads work when it turns. The mechanism is really neat. Basically it recognizes the size of the block with a diffrential "overflow" for the grabber. Also, the shifting mechanism at 1:30 with the rubberband and pegs is genius Edited December 30, 2012 by skppo Quote
skylinedan Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 That thing is freaking sweet !! I like the size of it, goes to show you that you dont need to build huge models that work like this one does. Dan Quote
bord4kop Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 This is so brilliant! I really like the way the designer explored all possibilities in technical engineering using Technic And it looks good too! Quote
me00rjb Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I remember the brick sorting bird this chap made a while back - this is also excellent! Clever, well designed and looks good - just a shame there aren't a few more pictures to enable it to be recreated! Richard. Quote
Lauris Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Just supported this on cuusoo... It has 100 supporters now :) Really clever mechanics. Quote
kieran Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 very well thought out, complex systems in small packs, and all off one motor, well done indeed Quote
guilhermelimait Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Beautiful assembling. Do anyone know if exist a DIY manual? Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) Awesome build, It is really compact and contains a lot. Edited May 22, 2014 by Tommy Styrvoky Quote
Appie Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 This would be awesome as a set! I could watch it go for hours. Quote
captainmib Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Never saw this one, but this is amazing engineering. I really like these kinds of models, mechanical, just one motor. Lots of stuff going on. And looks great too! Should have much more supporters on lego ideas. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/22356 Quote
TheRebricker Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Anyone else notice he has it sorting 2x5 bricks? I guess that is why it's able to work incrementally, but seems a strange size to include in the demo. Quote
RohanBeckett Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 you going to try reverse engineering this one? :D (yes please!) Quote
Technic Jim Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 you going to try reverse engineering this one? :D (yes please!) I'll attempt to Quote
JJ2 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 OK my brain is fried! No more thinking for today Anyway This is a marvel of engineering. Quote
agrof Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 What a coincidence! I was browsing yesterday, and found this through a very different soource, and today it pops up on EB from the past! The creator wrote, that LDD file will be available (2 years ago), does anyone have contact to him? As it seems, unfortunatelly it will never pass Ideas, but would be so awesome to build it! Quote
Josephiah Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 What a fascinating, fantastic little creation. Love it. Quote
Kim72 Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Tried reaching the maker of it, no succes yet. Anybody any succes with reverse engineering ? Quote
