I have a problem with the tires; can't go neither forward or backward ? I need to know why ? and where to check to solve this problem !

I have another question, please : how to rechange the batteries when flat ?

I thank you in advance for your help !

You need to be a bit more specific... do you mean they dont spin freely? Well they're not supposed to, since they're connected to motors only by activating the remote can you move the model.

Or is it another kind of problem?

Welcome to Eurobricks samar. Have a look around and explore the forums -- you will notice that EB is structured by themes. If you have a Technic related question, it's better to ask it in the Technic forum. I will move your topic there shortly.

@ samar: Welcome to Eurobricks! :classic: Notice that the two Differential Gears (the Dark Bluish Grey items centered between the sides of the wheels) need to face the SAME WAY, like this:

Welcome! Guess your questions are not direct and informative:

Tires=wheels not moving at all could due to:

- connection error (check the if all connections are plugged in as instructed, the orange and the blue tiles?)

- check the receiving channel on the controller and IR?

- check the batteries indicator lights (green led)

- and due to the gear construction, you will not be able to push drive the crawler. It can only be move by motor powered by batteries.

How to rechange the batteries when flat? Or you are looking to recharge the batteries?

- seem like you didn't tried putting in the batts yourself? The battery box need 6 x AA batteries to work. (Please also check if you inserted 3 x AAA size batt to the controller.

I'd assume that you'd have the type 3 production run with the angle part, but if you have type 1 then you could have put the part upside down and locked the axle.

I guess the problem is coming either from the remote control or the infra red receiver because the engine was working perfectly well for the first couple of days (sorry, for not mentioning that before !) Please advise me what should I do in this case. Thank you. I really appreciate your help.

Do the wheels turn when you lift the model from the table or other surface?

Do you hear the motor engaging or is it dead silent?

My best guess would still be that one of the Diffs is placed incorrectly (like DLuders mentioned).

Yes, the wheels turn when the model is lifted.

Yes, I do hear the motor engaging.

There is no signal coming from the wheel side (red side) of the infra red receiver because when we exchange the plug only one side is working (in this case the blue side is working and the red side is not working

Is it possible that there is a problem with the infra red receiver ???

That's always a possibility, especially because you said earlier that you tried switching the controller ports, and the red one did not work. Tis a shame, but it happens. just email customer service, and they will send you a new part in a week.

Also, check to make sure that the wheels when the model is lifted up rotate in the same direction, rather than opposite directions.

I am having trouble understanding what the actual problem is. The wheels turn when you lift it up, right? Only not when it's on the surface, right? Do the front and rear wheels turn in different directions? Then one of the diffs is placed incorrectly, like explained before.

I don't get what you mean by switching to the blue channel etc?! What does that have to do with the problem?

It sounds to me like you have a problem with either the receiver or remote. I have a V1 receiver that does that sometimes. Do you have another receiver or remote you can try?

I would contact LEGO customer service about your problems. They may be able to send you some replacement parts.

The V2 Receiver has 2 ports. The blue tile port connection is faulty?

So there are actually two problems. First one is the diff which is the other way around. Second problem is steering (or driving) doesn't work at all, depending on which channel is used.

Is this correct Samar?

Reading through the topic it sounds as tho there is a problem with the IR reciever. Have you contacted Lego customer services yet? They are very good when it comes to missing/faulty parts, they will quickly send you a new unit free of charge. Do you have any other sets that comes with a reciever? Doesn't matter if it's not a v2 reciever you can still use it to test it. To change the batteries you must pull back the pin with the blue pieces on it which allows you to lift up the red beam above the battery box.

Knight, the two diffs are well placed because the vehicle was working perfectly well.

I am sure now that the problems is coming either from the remote control or the Receiver.

Count, I didn't contact Lego custmer service yet. Would you please provide me with the necessary information to be able to contact them. Thank you.

@ samar: To contact Lego Customer Service for your country, go to Shop.Lego.com . On the top-right corner of that webpage, you'll see a small country flag -- click on the "Change Region" dropdown menu to match your country and language as best as possible.

Then, on the bottom-left corner of the webpage, you will see "CUSTOMER SERVICE --> Contact Us". When you click on that, you'll see various ways of telephoning, e-mailing, or snail-mailing a message to the Lego Customer Service for your country/region. :classic:
