Posted January 4, 201312 yr I applaud the new functions and lay-out when you read the forums on a mobile (in my case an iPhone 4). What really bugs me though is when you open a topic it directly goes to the first page of the thread, not to the last post. When a topic is 40 pages, I have to press 'next' 39 times... it takes forever!
January 4, 201312 yr I don't use Apple mobile products as I find them a little too controlling about what you put into them but: - There should be a button next to 'Next' that has two arrows on it, clicking this will allow you to go to the last page. - Also, I often browse the site on my Samsung tablet and in the Opera browser (I imagine it would be the same for Safari in an Apple mobile device) it displays some of the first and last page numbers near the topic title, you can just click on the last page number to go directly to the last page.
January 4, 201312 yr Something that annoys me, in Safari on my iPhone, is that even if I manually choose "Full version" on the bottom of the first page, the site always reverts to the mobile version next time I visit. Is there any way I can tell the site (or Safari, if anybody knows) to remember that I want the full version every time?
January 4, 201312 yr I have random issue - iphone 3gs. Sometimes it will hop straight to the last page i read (13/15) which is great. Next time i visit the thread it will go straight to 1/15 and need 14x next This seems to be totally random but worse on topics ive tead on both mobile and pc versions Cookies perhaps?
January 4, 201312 yr Author There is a significant difference between what you see on a desktop and what you see on a mobile. In many ways it is a good difference. But the arrows to go to the last post is absent in the mobile version. Also, I initially thought the next-button was for the next topic but it is for the next page. I hope you can add the 'go to the last page'-button! You can use the arrow next to the topic name in the topic list, I just found out. But a button for the last page once you have opened the topic would be a nice feature... Edited January 4, 201312 yr by merman

What really bugs me though is when you open a topic it directly goes to the first page of the thread, not to the last post. When a topic is 40 pages, I have to press 'next' 39 times... it takes forever! The mobile version is very limited and all of the settings are the Invision standard. I highly recommend scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking "full version". Today's mobile phones are easily capable enough to easily view the full site. This sounds like it solves most peoples complaint. Although I don't see this on my android phone, it may be specific to certain screen sizes? Is there any way I can tell the site (or Safari, if anybody knows) to remember that I want the full version every time? I don't use apple products but it sounds like safari is clearing your cache when you close it. I'd check for a setting to NOT clear your cache upon closure. It's not a cookie issue, if it was you'd also get signed out each time. Of course being apple, you might not be able to change the clear cache setting. It's not a cookie issue, if it was you'd also get signed out each time. Of course being apple, you might not be able to change the clear cache setting. The only problem with that theory is that I never close it. There are a few tabs (TBB, EB, BrickLink) that I keep open in the browser at any time. But if it's been a while since I last looked at a page, it will automatically refresh when I return to it - and then it changes from the full site to the mobile version.
January 5, 201312 yr Sometimes I have problems like this (sites defaulting to the mobile version) on my Samsung tablet (the original one which is basically a big phone) using the Opera browser but Eurobricks doesn't do that, thankfully. The best solution on my device is to go to the offending website and scroll to the bottom and then click 'Switch to Full Version' (or whatever it's called) THEN bookmark that 'full version' page. This works for some sites as the URL is what points you to the mobile site however, subsequent pages that you browse to on the site may revert to mobile. CNN and MSNBC (now just NBC I believe?) are major offenders. Also, Opera has settings in the 'Preferences' that allow you to always go to the full site (I guess this is one reason that I don't have problems with Eurobricks) but sometimes sites really insist on going to the mobile site regardless.of any set preferences. Hope that helps, I used to do computer repair; doing support remotely pretty muchs s_cks IMO as there are so many possibilities. Edited January 5, 201312 yr by bjtpro
January 5, 201312 yr THEN bookmark that 'full version' page. Thanks for trying to help! You're supposing that I'm using a bookmark, though, and I'm not. The site is, as I said, constantly left open in my Safari browser, as one of several constantly open tabs. I don't close it and open it back up when I want to revisit the site, and I've never bookmarked it.

You never have to restart your phone? You never run out of power?
January 5, 201312 yr Never mind. You obviously don't understand what I mean, and I don't understand how you're trying to help.

Sorry I can't help troubleshoot as I don't have any apple devices, but it does sound like it's an apple thing, since on my android phone I will retain the full version even if I shut down my phone or the browser for that matter. It's only when I manually clear my cache that it defaults back to the mobile site.

January 6, 201312 yr I was trying to help but maybe my exasperation showed through as that bookmarking thing is about the only solution I've found to this intractable problem. Anyway, have fun! Joe
