DanSto Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Six months ago, I introduced you a mid size R2-D2 in the Aboard Invisible Hand layout for the astromech contest. Now, after a few days of work with LPub, the building instruction is ready. If you want a free copy of the 13 Mbytes pdf file, request it with a personnal message giving your e-mail and containing your engagement do not share it and use it without my agreement. krispy Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Looks great! (And a bit more manageable than the UCS version ) Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 That looks awesome. I hadn't considered getting the UCS version, but this is very doable and won't take up as much display area. I may have to request that. Thank you for making the instructions available to everyone. Quote
Darth Wayne Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Looking good! On a sidenote, anyone know for how long the UCS version will still be available for? Quote
mrklaw Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Wow, looks beautiful. Do you have any pics sitting next to the UCS for scale? Quote
Vindicare Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) While the UCS is insanely awesome(!!!!) and I think everybody who enjoys SW should get him, this Mini Artoo is great. You really did a fantastic job of shrinking his UCS counterpart. It looks just like it, very similar to 10230 Mini Modulars. Edited January 6, 2013 by Legocrazy81 Quote
DanSto Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 Wow, looks beautiful. Do you have any pics sitting next to the UCS for scale? For comparison with the UCS Quote
TheStrategist Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Looks Great! Ive seen many mid scale R2-D2s, but none like this! It is great that you still have the play features without being so big! Quote
DanSto Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Support it on Cuusoo : lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/33136 Quote
imhotep85 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Great looking model. Cussoo supported, my coffee table is currently covered in my half built UCS R2-D2. Quote

ILIKELEGO Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Looks great, and it's actually superior to Lego's R2-D2 in the way that both the back legs and body are tilted to their approximate correct angles when in third-leg mode, unlike TLG's R2-D2 which bothers me quite a bit. Quote
DanSto Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 There is no more the need to request building instructions because they can directly be dowloaded from the Rebrickable website : R2-D2, its accessories and the stand. Good luck to all of you who will try to build it ad let me know if you did it. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Great building technique! Quote
Studebricker Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 That is a nice little set. I don't have any ideas offhand how to do it, but I just wish the UCS R2 had a smoother brick built dome somehow... Quote
DanSto Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Something like this one http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76263entry1438621 done at the 2:3 scale ? Quote
