I'm registered. Planning on bringing something. Not sure if I'm going to have my Mega MOC ready by then. :/

I have never been to a Lego convention either, and I am very interested in going to Brickworld. Can you offer advice on best days to travel. I notice the dates of the convention are the 12-16th. Is it wise )or not) to fly in on the 12th, and then leave the evening of the 16th?

Oh crap, there are no rooms left at the hotel. Is there some code or something I need to enter to get the rooms Brickworld reserved (if they reserved any) Thanks.

I got the same answer. So I looked around and got a room at the Marriot one mile south for about half the price ($69.95 USD). I figure with that kind of savings that will pay for my gas there and back and probably even a taxi each day if parking is bad.

Glad to hear you are going, Modulex. I believe we met last year- you introduced me to the Modulex system!

 But this year I won't be bringing any Modulex with me this year *GASP!!*

I'm planning something.... interesting for next year.

Here is a question for you brickworld vets. I am looking to transfer a display that is 3 feet by 3 and a half feet square. I made it so I could break it up into multiple sections, but my questions is how do I keep the thing from getting destroyed while in the car for over 3 on my way to this years brickworld?

I've had no issues with an moc getting destroyed driving to brickworld.

How sturdy is each section?

You just want to make sure it's secure while you're driving.

Don't forget that buckling in MOCs is why God invented seat belts. He stumbled across the idea for airbags while trying to perfect the whoopee cushion... True story.

Also take lots of pictures before taking it anywhere. Or detailed blueprints. And bring them with you, just in case.

Place in box, fill with foam peanuts, open at Brickworld, use leaf blower (or sucker), done. :D

Good idea on taking photos ahead of time. The MOC is fairly sturdy so I don't think the thing will crack in half, it is more the small bits I am worried about falling off. I have a bunch of large server boxes I secured from work to place each section in, so at least it will be contained.

Not a bad idea, I wish I could just vacuum seal the whole thing. :)

Make instructions and get the attendees to build it for you when you get there.

I will be there. Look forward to meeting you guys and gals.

I may need some help getting this thing put back together, stop by the castle area Friday around noon if you would like to lend a hand. I will be the super tall dutchman.

This is my first brickworld and I am looking forward to meeting everyone as well. I've never been super active posting on the forums, I do however spend a lot of time reading them. :)

...lots of blankets and pillows for a soft ride.

Is it me or does May to June seem like time stands still?

I'll be honest, I am still glad there is just under a month left until brickworld as I keep adding minor details to the MOC I am bringing.

On side note, I am having a really hard time not posting photos of this MOC for you guys. I've been working on this thing for the past year, so I hope when you see it at brickworld that you will like it!

The small details always have a tendency of falling off, happens to all of us. That's why there's the whole day devoted to set up. For building an repairs.

And a second day for setup for those that don't work hard enough the first day :look:

No, the second day is for those of us that arrive with a box of bricks in stead of a (mostly) complete model...
