Baby arrived yesterday on time. I hope to make it to BW2014 for some pizza and friends.

Dale- hope you added lights to that build this year!

Congrats on the addition to your family! May your child grow up to love building LEGO with you...what a blast!

And it is fun taking your child to anything having to do with LEGO.

@happymark, DaleDVM and Col. Brick, thanks for your help. I'm sorry to say that I can't make it this year as expected, but with any luck I'll get to meet you all next year. Maybe it's a good thing, because then I can get to know the online community first.

@ZCerberus, congratulations!

Display description:

In a far off land, during a time before steam... there was a world that was turned by clockwork gears ... And in this world there is one hero that rules with a golden gear - Leonardo Da Vinici. With his incredible inventions he has created a mechanical Utopia called Vitruvia. The citizens of Vitruvia live in peace and spends their days following the scholarly pursuits and create ever more elaborate contraptions.

But all is not well... for there are villains afoot. Jealous of the Vitruvian lifestyle, the evil Enlightened Knights seek to crush the Da Vinci's way of life, and create a city of their own... With their own Mechnical contraptions they march towards Vitruvia.

Will the Vitruvians be able to stop them?

Beautiful layout, Hinck. It's stunning, purely stunning. I really love that arch/bridge thing! The moss on the top is such a great detail!

Is that Pandrione, Nevrick and Rufus I see?

And CopMike and Foog too.

DarkDragon, Prune Face, CorneliusMurdock, Cecilie, ace, Ecclesiastes, Quarryman, Vincent Kessels, getdamonkey, Scorpio and CopMike all collaborated on it.

Wow! I love the baseplate covered in 1X2's plates and 2X2 tiles of many different colors....adds so much texture to the build.

This reminds me a bit of the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. We saw a model in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin and just watched a program about it on netflix tonight. Makes you wonder just how many ancient civilizations there were and where they were located.

Congratulations EBers on another fine work of art!

Thanks! The leaves on top were either cecilie's or DarkDragon's idea, can't remember who of them suggested it, and since there were no leaves on it when I delivered it to cecilie for taking along to Brickworld I suppose they took some liberties when rebuilding it in Chicago.

And I'm happy to see that it can take the weight of the monorail, was a bit worried about that since I didn't have time to test it with a train going across before taking it apart for shipping..

Damn those virtual people, can't they win some virtual prizes instead?

Thanks for sharing those pics, it looks amazing! It's great to see so many people working together to create something fantastic.

Great display by the eurobricks group. I enjoyed looking it over and finding all the interesting details. The amount of moving parts was also pretty nice.

Guilty as charged . It looked so empty and clean... so I tossed those on there

The leaves were meant for the birch trees which were assembled, but remain barren...

Oh, is that what they were for? Sorry . Someone said I could use them for the bridge, don't remember who :look:

Btw, here are my BW pictures: Brickworld 2013 - Chicago
