Posted January 6, 201312 yr The Minifigs: Bane Tumbler: The Bat: With Others: I feel that Lego did a great job with the old 7888 Tumbler Set from 2006, sadly l was extremely disappointed with this set. Still, as a Batman fan, l was tempted to get this set to add to my Lego Batman.
January 6, 201312 yr The implication is that lego didn't think a Bat set and a tumbler set would sell individually - so boxed them together at a price tag one would expect to pay for either the Bat or the tumbler... This is easily one of the worst sets lego has released in years - the Bat had that same amateurish build and blocky features of an early Star Wars set and the tumbler has Bane logos which suggests neither the tumbler or the film had been seen by the designer... We deserved an accurate improvement of the tumbler and a high quality Bat set. Both would have sold. Sadly people will still buy this set and this lego won't learn the lesson
January 6, 201312 yr I disagree, I love this set. People seem to forget, Lego is for kids, not for AFOLS. So the sets need to appeal to kids. They took a dark, gritty, really long, not kid friendly movie and made a awesome, comic book, kid friendly set. The minifigs are accurate enough, with some comic elements thrown in: Batman, grey suit and the Super Heroes head. Gordon, the ADU gun, while comic bookish isn't accurate Bane, the olive green, his mask has a tint of green though, but his chest armor has green holding it together. I wish the mask connected though. The Tumbler is size accurate, the only things that bug me is the windshield, and the random colors in the back showing through. The Bane mask stickers look cool. And the dark tan is nice and makes more sense(I never got why desert camo is brown and tan, someone explain that to me?) The Bat is accurate, shrunk down to size though and the only thing innaccurate is the back propplers are supposed to be under the wings. I like the blue makes it look high tech and like a comic book. Like the Tumbler I don't like the random exposed colors and I wouldn't mind if the controls looked like the movie's. I want this set, but only had money for the Arctic, and the two Marvel sets. Will be picking this up ASAP.
January 6, 201312 yr I don't know what you are talking about because I love this set. It gives us a more accurate scale tumbler and am awesome Bay. I don't love the blue, but that is mostly for the kids buying it. I will mod that out. And desert camo is that color because of the sand color playing off shadows which would be darker. I think typically they would have a group of colors on the tan spectrum. Similar to white and gray camo for snow. Edited January 6, 201312 yr by TheLegoDr
January 6, 201312 yr I think it's about time Lego started printing all around minifigure heads, probably the top too. I'm sick of this cutoff stuff. Heck, maybe Bane should have gotten a unique mask mold.

Heck, maybe Bane should have gotten a unique mask mold. Lobot of Star Wars got the 360 printing treatment, so I don't know why Bane or Fury didn't get the same treatment. Bane probbaly would have looked better with a moulded mask.
January 7, 201312 yr Thanks for the pics, cerebros. I'm undecided. I have all of the other Batman sets from 2012-13, so I feel obligated. But I didn't really like the vehicles from the Nolan movies, so I don't really like the LEGO set either. Ah well. I probably will buy it at some point just because the money is there
January 8, 201312 yr I think this set is very undermined. I am happy they weren't packed separately. Means less money to fish out. I think we should be greatful and impressed with LEGO for trying to make a kid-friendly set out of a movie that was certainly not kid-friendly. Being the Batman completist that I am, I will definitely be getting this set. Also the code for the first Lego Batman game on PC is a big selling point for me.
