wooootles Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) MOC: TRUCKS OF WASABI DISTRICT Pickup Trucks 1/6/13 Delivery Truck 3/2/13 Charter Bus 4/27/13 Green Public Bus 6/8/13 Will update this top page whenever there's something new! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope you all had a good start to the 2013 year. I'm making this a truck thread and dump all my trucks here. For now, I have 2 finished MOC trucks - one of them I didn't even realize that I had no flickr upload on it, though it was shown on Brickworld 2012. Crew Cab: Seats 4 minifigs Extended Cab: Seats 2 minifigs; a 6/7-wide version of the 4200 Mining Truck set Misc Details/shots Here's the flick link for the rest of the pictures. They're rather simple, and large (because with 5-wide cars running around I can't have trucks be smaller than that.) I hope you like these guys... My next WIP is a cargo truck which I may update here. Edited June 9, 2013 by wooootles Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I them, at last another AFOL knocking out 6 wides that can take more than one minifig ! Actually I use the standard car door with a 1x2 panel under it......perhaps I should get some higher doors like you have 'wooootles'.....Brick On Truck On ! Quote
Captain Settle Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Nice trucks! I like how many people the red one can fit without looking too bulky. Quote
L@go Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Yeah, very nice - and big! - trucks. Will fit well into your Wasabi district! I'm making this a truck thread and dump all my trucks here. Just wondering. Does this make them dump trucks? Edited January 6, 2013 by L@go Quote
Kristel Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 These look great and far more realistic than most of the official vehicles. I particularly like that you can fit the minifigures side by side! Quote
wooootles Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Thanks all! The side-by-side configuration is something I will try to do on every single 6+ wide if possible. I'm doing what you described on Cab over trucks Just wondering. Does this make them dumped trucks? Fixed Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Great set of pick-ups wooootles, I really like they're look and size. I've been wanting to work on some new pick up trucks. I was thinking about five wide (for a Dodge-like front), but a full 6, may be more appropriate Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Those are very nice trucks Wooootles, especially the yellow mining truck! Quote
wooootles Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Great set of pick-ups wooootles, I really like they're look and size. I've been wanting to work on some new pick up trucks. I was thinking about five wide (for a Dodge-like front), but a full 6, may be more appropriate 6-wide's much less headache to work with A Ram-like front will lend itself well to a 6-wide Quote
Vindicare Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Those are awesome! I really love the red one. They're both really accurate and I would be ecstatic if TLG made trucks like these. They're getting better, but nowhere near the kind of awesome. Any chance of a parts list/instructions? Quote
wooootles Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Those are awesome! I really love the red one. They're both really accurate and I would be ecstatic if TLG made trucks like these. They're getting better, but nowhere near the kind of awesome. Any chance of a parts list/instructions? Try downloading here It doesn't have the bigger 2012 fenders among other things so it's slightly different, but should be 95% + accurate from my finished model Quote
mobricki Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I love the red pickup. I will give it a try. Quote
wooootles Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Plain delivery truck. 6-wide, and like the pickups can seat 2 minifigs in the front row. It's not supposed to be fancy, but it gets the job done delivering shipments of ...books? Quote
Androo Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The new truck is spot on, as are the previous ones. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Nice truck 'wooootles' keep them coming and Brick On Truck On ! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Amazing realitazion, I like the new version for the motorbikes! Quote
gazumpty Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I love the scale you attribute to your trucks, where they look spot on with the mini-figs. Some TLG sets, in particular their cars, seem a bit unrealistic. Great work! Quote
wooootles Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Thanks all, glad the little trucks are also appreciated some! My next project for this category will be a charter bus. Please watch for it everyone! Quote
hush Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Nice trucks you have there can't wait to see the bus Quote
Bregir Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 What an inspiration! :) I might even start building some trucks and cars for the city now! Quote
branolego Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Great looking trucks!! It always bugged me that the trucks and cars that LEGO built only fit back to back and not side to side. very nice details all around too. I look forward to more of your MOC"s Quote
wooootles Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 MOC: Charter Bus The very first "MOC" in LDD was a bus. Always wanted to make one, but 7641 and 8402 happened around the time I was rediscovering LEGO, so I put the bus plans in the shelf. Eventually, I became confident that I can make a new bus that's better looking This started as a mod to the 8404 bus, which was more "coach" like than the public transport 7641. While windows, arches and other pieces are common, this is built different from that 8404 bus. I hope you guys like it Please offer suggestions too. I hope to keep this thread going (like the Wasabi District thread) with new Vehicle MOCs. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Excellent tour bus wooootles! Love the colors chosen for the stripes Quote
Missing Brick Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Super bus - the striped coachwork, opening door & seats all look awesome. I may have to make myself a copy of this beauty. Quote
Aussie BJ Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Great looking bus and that door is very unique (first time I've seen it used) Well Done! Really nice colors and spot on size. There must be something in the Eurobrick water because I built a bus last night and I saw another one a little earlier on EB. Quote
