I am building this keep with great hall, cellars and tower since october.

Will be some time till the third part of the hall, furniture, houses and outer wall are completed, so i decided to post some WIP pics.

Hope it´s interesting so far.

Wow! This looks very promissing and I already love the details on the ceiling and floors. The rocks and building style are great. Can't wait for the end result! Very inspiring work!

One question: What shield is the one in the middle on the tower? It looks like a 12th century crusader shield or something? Is it custom made?

It's the shield from tower bridge.

A very good start. The floor is superb.

One note, the maximum size for pictures posted here is supposed to be 600 x 800 or 800 x 600 depending on if it is landscape. These are just barely larger than that. It is okay to leave these, but in the future, please keep them to 800 x 600

I think the entire build looks fantastic so far, but the interior of the great hall is by far the eye catcher! The floor and ceiling really set it off

Where is that Great sword in the last picture from? I dont recall seeing that anywhere and i am not familiar with BrickArms or BrickForge if thats where its from

Epic. The details you have already are well spaced for the size. Keep going, I want more.

It is the BrickArms Claymore in Gunmetal.

The great hall section with the pillars looks great! How did you make the delicate archways off the pillars? It looks like it goes from a 1 brick with a single round 1 x1 brick and then to three bricks wide. I would love to adapt that technique because it would make a perfect addition to

Rivendell.

I love the shot with the stained glass windows and the floor tiles. The ceiling tiles are a very nice touch. It is ways great to see realistic and unique interiors. How many bricks have you used so far?

Edit: Nevermind I just found the inverted 1x3 slope 45 on bricklink. Had no idea this piece even existed. :-)

I believe it would be these pieces: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2341 Very useful.

Very nice structure, I agree with Brickington that the colors are all over the place, But if you tone it down just a bit, I think it will look great!

Great work; just keep what you're doing. The upside-down ceiling looks a little confused with regard to colours, but it's built well. The stained-glass windows are another highlight.

I look forward to seeing the complete MOC, ProfessorChaos!

This is amazing! The details you captured with the piece usage, wow. That floor pattern is great. Keep it up, I can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks for all your constructive comments! :classic:

As far as i can see all questions regarding specific parts have allready been answerded.

I don´t know how many parts were used till now, my guess would be 3000+, amybe even 4000?

Regarding the colours, I am thinking about some changes as some of you noted there are to many different ones.

I will remove the orange brown pieces, not sure about the sand blue parts at the sides if these should also be replaced.

I admit the colours on the ceiling are a little bit mixed up, will have look at this. (also depending on the parts i have at disposal)

Maybe i put some more grey in the floor instead of dark red, but i currently wouldn´t remove the red alltogehther, as it should represent different kinds of colored marble. ( currently i plan to make it into a sort of throne room, where the most expensive building materials should be used)

That's one awesome shield. Never seen it before, but it looks like it can fit in with the crownies shields and/or knights.

I don't think there are too many colours, exept for the blue on the left side (3rd photo) because it does not seem necessary anyway (or use dark grey if you want to simulate the three-barred cross?). When you got the interior finished you can decide if there are too many colours or not. :classic:

What I would do different is the use of the 'Helmsdeep green' (I don't know what to call it), because it seems like you use it more or less symetrical and I prefere it to be 'random build'.

LOVE that SNOT floor in the hall. A lot to love here. Can't wait to see more. I do, however, agree there are too many colors in some places. Not a fan of the multi-colored roofs.

This is one incredible build! Aside from the multi-color roof, I like your use of color. It's much more brave than I would attempt, but it's working for me. Keep going! I can't wait to see how this turns out.

This is looking really good! Can't wait to see it finished. I'm with SirBlake on this one; I don't see any real problem with the interior, but the cheese wedge roof looks a bit odd in my opinion.

Magnificent! I especially applaud the bold use of accent colors to break the grey monotony. The various architectural details are intriguing, as well, even though they somewhat hurt the cohesiveness of the building in general. Then again, this is a fantasy castle not set in any specific point in history, so it "being a bit all over the place" is understandable.
