The Legonater Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Yay, Taskmaster! Iron Fist! She-Hulk! Havok! A bit disappointed all those Thor characters are DLC - there's a few I really want. A shame you can't get a pre-order DLC for PC. Out of curiosity, for you Xbox fans, how do those work? Can you stack DLCs? Or are you stuck with just one? Quote
Piranha Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Also, they announced a demo will be available Tuesday ( 10/15) for Xbox, PS3 and PC. Quote
wesker Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Pyro looks pretty good, although I think the new Nightwing/Faora hair might have suited him better. Quote
Mr Breden Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) Pyro looks pretty good, although I think the new Nightwing/Faora hair might have suited him better. Well in their defense, the hair does kind of look like a flame I wonder if the demo will be a level we'venever seen before, or one of those we have already seen in the various gameplays? Also is 22nd the release date for UK as amazon still thinks its Nov 15th . And has anyone else heard about mini galactus, He should be fun I think so I was in GAME earlier today and they have the release listed as Nov 15th. Which is pretty annoying, as it's also comes out on 22nd November for Xbox one. So I might wait a week to get it on the new console. Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Aww, that's ruined my day, I was hoping it was just a simple amazon misunderstanding. Strangely Argos have it listed for October the 25th, With the sports bag I showed you earlier. However i would really like IP and i have preoredered mine anyway so i wont change now. In your case, If you are definitely getting a new console i would wait as the games are meant to be less aggravating due to no loading time, So probably worth it. Quote
Savage Oppress Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 It will come out on October 22, 2013 in the USA for: 1. Xbox 360 2. PS3 3. PC 4. 3DS 5. Wii U Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Do you know if this applies to other countries? :classic: Quote
Savage Oppress Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 No only for USA. Europe gets it on November 15, 2013 Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) What! Thats mad, you get it over three weeks before us, I may have to consider having someone in the US post one to me, It will no doubt be quicker . Thanks for clearing that up anyway. Edited October 13, 2013 by The Joker1 Quote
Savage Oppress Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Well, if you guys want a Lego Spider-Man key-chain from Gamestop with your pre-order of Lego Marvel Super-Heroes, it is too late, because Gamestop ran out of key-chains and removed it from the listing page at http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/lego-marvel-super-heroes/107666 Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Lego marvel PC demo now online, Unfortunately i cant get it yet as my itunes is doing a massive download that will take many hours. Console versions will be around tomorrow i believe. Please do let me know what they are like if anyone downloads it before me. http://videogames.lego.com/en-us/lego-marvel-super-heroes/demo-download Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Update- Downloaded the demo, This really is the most amazing Lego game yet. Could play level 1 over and over again!!!! Love hulks powers and iron man is just fantastic. Swinging as spiderman is pretty good but compared to all the great new features on the game it is slightly overshadowed. Definitely 11/10 overall! The Legonater Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Did you have any issues at the base of the Avengers Tower? I got past shutting down the electricity, and then I got stuck. I assumed I was supposed to use Spider-Man on the hook at the edge of that one tower, but the game wouldn't let me. Quote
The Legonater Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 EDIT: Nevermind. It was apparently some glitch in the scripting, and Sandman didn't knock the girder off the tower. I played it through a second time, and it was alright. This game is amazing so far! So much fun to play the character, the music is outstanding, and the game isn't nearly as obvious as some other games (especially LotR) have been. I can't wait for the full game! Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Glad you like it too, and good to hear you sorted the problem. Im sure that wont happen in the actual game. One thing i would like to see is being able to use a random selection of characters in the demo as you were in Batman 2. I remember getting Zod,Flash and penguin when i got the demo, Among others. Looks great already though!!! Quote
TeufelHund Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 That was a fun little demo - I can tell my eldest son would love this. I'm not really into the Marvel universe myself but will probably pick this up in a Steam sale at some point. Quote
jamesster Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Tried the demo... Once again, another evolution of LEGO Star Wars. Sure wish TT would try something new and fresh at least once in a while. Quote
KingPixels Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Anyone know if the game's coming out for Mac? Quote
Ultron Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) Tried the demo... Once again, another evolution of LEGO Star Wars. Sure wish TT would try something new and fresh at least once in a while. How? In lego star wars all of the characters basically did the exact same thing. Shoot a gun or swing a lightsaber. From what I understand, a lot of the characters in this game have some power or ability unique to them. Also in lego star wars you could only play the levels and now you can explore a huge chunk of the marvel universe without having to play through the levels. Also there is voice acting and star wars did not have that. Different story and universe, new characters, that seems new and fresh to me. Edited October 16, 2013 by Luna Lovegood Quote

It's the same core gameplay we've been playing for eight years: Enter level, swap between characters, destroy objects to get studs, hold a button to build jumping piles of pieces, find collectibles, get "True ____" status, rinse, repeat. As I said, it's another evolution of the same game - they've gotten bigger, with more shiny graphics and more shiny characters and bigger hub areas and whatever license LEGO is doing at the time, but it's still the same gameplay that they've been milking since 2005. Now, I'm not saying that the massive wave of LEGO Star Wars clones aren't fun, they are. The problem is they're stale. There also isn't really any chance for emergent gameplay... The levels are a linear path carefully constructed by the designers, and even in the newer open world areas the gameplay still comes down to the same sort of lock-and-key "puzzles" you see in the main levels, but dotted throughout a larger environment. Indiana Jones 2 and Harry Potter had level builders, which looked like they were finally perhaps taking the series in a better direction, but TT seems to have dropped that in newer titles. LEGO revolves around creativity, and earlier games reflected that by not only including lots of diversity in the assortment of games themselves, but included more open ended play and building in each individual game: LEGO Creator let you build your own town and then explore and interact with it as a minifigure either on foot or in a vehicle, the LEGO Racers games let you build and upgrade your own vehicles brick by brick and compete in them, etc. Today's technology is far beyond what it was when games like that were developed in the early late 90s and 2000s, and modern games like LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, TrackMania, and heck, even Minecraft are prime examples of what can be done now when it comes to creativity in games, and . Yes, that's Blockland in the last link, and I've honestly had more fun with it than any TT game as of late - and it's only made by two people. Quote
CF Mitch Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 The demo was downloadable at PSN and Xbox Live as well, as of today. Downloaded it straight away and played it after dinner. It is so incredibly cool! Can't wait to play with all of the many, many characters Regards, Mitch Quote
