I watched some of those gameplays and I have to say this game looks amazing. I love all the inside jokes that kids may not get, there was even one making fun of X Men Origins

Tony Stark to Wolverine: Shouldn't you be in Canada uncovering Your past or something?

This is a great Lego game exploring the city is so much fun and so many great superheros. Its a all round great game and 2player mayhem is so much fun.

Bought the PC version for $20.

So far? Meh.

A lot of the gameplay elements seem forced or odd. Like the tip when you need to web something and pull? It says something like "only web-slingers can do this" which at first confused me a bit because, as it turns out, it's a complete lie. Mr. Fantastic and anyone with a grapple or stretchy or whatever powers can too.

Then the puzzels just seem 10x more artificial. Like it was so natural in Lego Batman 2. Or at least more so for a Lego game where you could use logic more often (like oh fire is blocking Batman, Superman will go turn a valve to turn it off). Whereas in this game it seems even more filled with odd invisible walls, and I'm left wondering why the Hulk can't jump over a bus, why I even need to use the other characters (I will be forced to as part of the puzzel, not talking only from a hulk perspective), blablabla.

I'm tired as heck so I'm not sure I'm being legible.

Also the city isn't as exciting. First off the flying controls are downright horrible (as most reviews state). I find myself often messing up in one of those flying through the rings things just because the controls freakin' suck. Reminds me of Superman 64. I'm not saying the game is bad though lol.

The music is very generic I guess because Marvel simply doesn't have any iconic music besides some Spiderman. You traveled around Gotham in style with the Batman and Superman themes. In this it just has boring, nothing music.

Now again, I'm tired so I'm probably going to leave it at that. It's not a bad game. It's just more of the same and IMO more of a mess in some regards than Lego Batman 2.

I have to agree, Lego batman 2 is better, I'm having fun with it and it sounds like the X-Box 360 version is better... Hopefully we'll see a lego marvel 2 with the kinks worked out

Lego batman 2 was good, but to me at least, the free roam was awfull. You seemed so small in this big emptyish world. Anyhoo, try not to gripe to much, the game you've been excitited about for 5 months just came out on Tuesday! Essh

A bit of a random question but can you still track the other player on 2 player mode? As when playing with a friend we chase each other round the free world and try to destroy each others vehicles.

your review is so freaking wrong. The game is super good, even better than Lego Batman 2. This review sounds like you never played a lego game ever and basically hate Marvel in general.

Marvel does have iconic music. They have AC/DC for Iron-Man and other music for the rest of the heroes.

It does? I haven't played the game yet, so I don't get an opinion on it, but to me his evaluation sounded fair. I would like to hear more of what he thought was good (he did say it wasn't a bad game, but I didn't catch why) and he supported why he thought it was a mess well. Since I'm not sure if I want to throw money at this (it would involve getting a new PC or console), I'm happy to hear some of the negatives about the game too. One time too many have I read overly positive reviews of something that turned out to be a huge disappointment. :hmpf_bad:

And even if Iron-Man is associated with AC/DC, I don't think associated AC/DC with Iron-Man. Batman and Superman's scores were composed for them, but I don't think AC/DC had Iron-Man in mind when they wrote their songs. Just my two cents. Actually, it's worth even less.

I only read negative reviews. If the product is good, I will find that out when I use it. I want to know what is wrong with things before I get myself into them. But I'm a pessimist by nature, so...

I haven't made it to Wal-Mart yet to pick up my pre-ordered copy. They say they hold them for 10 days, so I'm sure I'll have one waiting for me.

It is smart to have the figure in with the game to prevent returns. I would have preferred to find someone who didn't really care about their job and would give me a few extra IPs, but it looks like I'd have to buy multiple copies of the game and sell off the rest OR just buy extra polybags online. I remember GameStop gave me a few extra Elronds, which was nice.

As much as I want to play this game, I'm so backlogged in games I wouldn't be able to play this for quite some time. Maybe I'll do what others did and sell the game (keep the IP) and when it goes down in price months from now, I can pick up the game at a nice discount. So far I've bought most of the LEGO games for about $20 or less, so that helps a lot. I remember getting the first Batman and HP for 10 on Target clearance.

Your comment is so freakin' wrong and is another baseless attack literally based on stupid assumptions.

As I mentioned in my review "more of the same"... I've played a lot of Lego games. I've played most of them. It's "more of the same" all right. That's how I came to that conclusion.

Marvel does not have music as iconic. Nobody goes "oh wow it's that Iron Man song" unless it's the coincidentally named "Iron Man" by black sabbath. Nothing really compares to Superman's or Spiderman's themes where people of every generation will often know them. Iron Man's music isn't nearly as far reaching (again, unless you count a song which isn't really a Marvel song ;p). Of course when it comes to the iconic status of music it's almost about taste but I'm 100% sure if you sampled the music from Marvel and DC movies to the random populace the DC movies would win in recognizeability.

I don't hate Marvel. In fact I've been a marvel fan most of my life starting in Grade School (I'm almost 30).

So you're completely wrong. :)

Hi guys, As a UKer i dont get the game for a few mire weeks, What exactly is different about the flying controls? I thought the Batman ones were fine? Do you still point the little circle where you want to go and press A to go there?

Also can you still track the other player on 2 player mode? As when playing with a friend we chase each other round the free world and try to destroy each others vehicles. (on batman you used the little green arrow on the line along the top.

I was expecting AC/DC's Shoot to Thrill to play through the speakers whenever you played as one of Iron Man's suits. I vote this Lego Game as 10/10, it would of been 11/10 if they got soundtracks to play for every hero like Star Spangled Man from Captain America 1 for Captain America.

Honestly, it's not fair to even try and argue about logic in a lego game. And as for the flying, I assume you're talking about flying as ironman and such? I find iron man to be very easy to fly around as. It is a little harder when you're in the city though. I haven't flown any vehicles though so maybe that's what you're referring to. I haven't really noticed the music too much but it isn't bad. I wouldn't say it's awful but I would give it more credit. And batman and superman have themes? I haven't seen the movies (except for the terrible TDKR) and the "theme music" didn't stick with me at all. I've never even heard a superman theme or seen the movie though so I wouldn't say DC has an iconic soundtrack because for it to be iconic, both fans and not fans should be able to recognize it. Harry Potter has an iconic soundtrack, not DC or marvel. To a fan, maybe it is. And marvel does have some music even if it's not iconic. The avengers theme still sticks with me even from the first time I saw it. To me, I think this game is great, all the characters feel fresh and I enjoy playing as all of them. I love the city, I get a GTA feel from it and it feels very open and big and explorable. I really love it. I might even like it more than lego harry potter and that's saying something.

You act as though in order to be iconic it has to reach 100% of people. Some people haven't even seen Star Wars. It's because they're out of touch with popular culture as much as you are. :P

Seriously, arguing that the Superman theme isn't iconic or well known is crazy. You're basing your opinions on your own personal experiences and not looking outside of your limited point of view.

Maybe my own point of view about the game isn't the popular point of view, at least I know that. But again, to argue that the Superman theme isn't iconic is just plain out of touch.

Well I was just voicing my opinion, but I'm not out of touch. I just don't like DC so I'm not going to waste my time watching their movies. But even though I haven't that doesn't make me out of date. I think that in order for something to be iconic a good majority of the general public should know what it is. The star wars theme is iconic, harry potter theme is iconic, spider man theme song is iconic, the "nananana batman" theme is iconic. I don't even like batman and I know that one. Superman has nothing. And yes, I'm basing this off my personal experiences just like an opinion should be. Feel free to disagree
