ACPin Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 That yoda statue is just genius And now it's done! AC Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Very interesting. I can say it looks significantly better than simply a WIP picture. I think the stairs scream SW. I love the base of the planet display. It is rather weird for me to see so many yellow skinned SW figures since I've only known them as licensed skin tone. I never considered adding a brown hood to Hagrid. I think I may do that now. Keep up the good work. Good luck in the contest! Quote
maedhros1980 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) Huge. Lots of cool details in the structure. The two main statues are really cool too. Am I missing the statue of Obi Wan? There has to be a statue for him. Great job and good luck. Edited January 22, 2013 by maedhros1980 Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Again a great entry from you, with a lot of details. Ok guys, that's what we have to beat if we want to win... good luck all Quote
Lobot Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 This is beautiful ACPin, well up to your usual standard! I love all of the little details in the walls, especially the statues. The only part I'm not sure of is the Yoda Keyring, it just doesn't fit somehow, although I can understand why you used it. Good luck in the competition, although I doubt you'll need it Quote

There's a lot of details besides those you mentioned and the grand staircase was designed based on some pics of SW architecture. As for the yellow minifigs, I'm a retro kind of guy and you'd easily notice that with my other MOCs. I've actually used that Jedi in the old Jedi Temple MOC. Good luck to you as well. Huge. Lots of cool details in the structure. The two main statues are really cool too. Am I missing the statue of Obi Wan? There has to be a statue for him. Great job and good luck. Obi Wan was not included in the hall as he did not die from the Jedi purge (Order 66). But if this was expanded, there would be an appropriate place for him and Anakin as well. Again a great entry from you, with a lot of details. Ok guys, that's what we have to beat if we want to win... good luck all You shouldn't be waiting on what others do or do not. Be creative and do what you feel is best that you can do. Not based from somebody else's work. This is beautiful ACPin, well up to your usual standard! Good luck in the competition, although I doubt you'll need it I was designing a brick-built Yoda but wasn't fully satisfied with the outcome. It just so happens that when I got the CMF Series 9 minifgs, the flashlight keychains were all on sale! I did buy the Vader and stormtrooper as well. AC Quote
Paddyb98 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Ok, well second place won't be that bad...... Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Huuuuh! Sorry I said anything before but the WIP pictures really didn't work that well for me. The finished project on the other hand is just stunning. I know it's nitpicking (in such good creations people can't complain about big things ) but why are there windows behind the wall on the top floor? Also Jedi guards would look better with the statues' weapons instea of medieval spears ... But all in all a gorgeus creation with a lot going on. Congrats on the great build! P.S. It's really not fair how people with already too much LEGO always take the biggest prizes. Winning in small category would've been a bigger challange for you Quote

That's the first contest for which I can brickbuild something, so I did, even if I couldn't really do what I had in mind... Anyway I'm just saying that your entry is always waited, as we all know it will be amazing, and again this time it is P.S. I know it's nitpicking (in such good creations people can't complain about big things ) but why are there windows behind the wall on the top floor? It's really not fair how people with already too much LEGO always take the biggest prizes. Winning in small category would've been a bigger challange for you There's a wall there because the entry to the temple is on the other side and those are force spears! Correction, bigger collection doesn't mean squat if you don't know how to build quality MOCs. Oh I didn't waited to see what people do. That's the first contest for which I can brickbuild something, so I did, even if I couldn't really do what I had in mind... Anyway I'm just saying that your entry is always waited, as we all know it will be amazing, and again this time it is That's why I proposed to give the price to the second best entry Oh, ok what you said didn't translate that well the first time. But kidding around about the prizes is not funny anymore. Let's keep on topic about the creation going forward. Thanks, AC Quote
Brickmamba Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 This is nothing less than what is normally expected from AC, in fact this MOC is probably a notch below some work done in the past and that is a testament to how good some of your past builds have been. That aside this is still a very nice build, the detail and execution in the interior architecture easily resemble how a Jedi temple should look. As previously mentioned really like how the yoda statue been cleverly done and the figures like the group of pandawans all contribute to very polished and complete entry. Not that it is needed lol but goodluck with the comp Quote

Not that it is needed lol but goodluck with the comp Every build is different and the various pieces/details/minifigs must work together to convey the overall design/concept. There's a risk of overdoing and in keeping with the theme it's sometimes necessary to tone it down a bit. At least you've been able to see through the overall concept/design and the backstory should help out a bit to fill the details if needed. AC Quote
Big Cam Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 This is fantastic, for me my favorite part is the hagrid statues. It's such a good idea I can't believe I haven't seen it done before. Overall, it's just splendid. I love your large builds, there is so much to look at and enjoy. Quote
Esurient Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Very detailed MOC! I really like the idea of Jedi immortalised into statues. One of the best entries so far! Good luck in the contest! Quote

Very detailed MOC! I really like the idea of Jedi immortalised into statues. One of the best entries so far! Good luck in the contest! I hope my luck holds up with the update. AC PS. Temple entrance expansion done. I'm really done this time! Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I hope my luck holds up with the update. Oh believe me it holded up... To be honest I think it would be better with slightly bigger doors... (Is there a prize for finding a flaw in ACPin's entry?? ) Quote
Lego Chris Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I really liked it when it was just the inside, now I really really like it. Quote
Big Cam Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Wow, I think I like the expansion side even more. Those statues are just awesome. This is the way it is with most of your MOC's but the sheer size is just so impressive. I love the stairs, how grand you made them, just like the real temple (in terms of size). Incredibly impressive, and I don't know how you can ever bring yourself to take any of these apart. Quote
Lobot Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 That's beautiful ACPin   This must have taken a lot of time & dedication to build, I'm sure that you'll do very well in the competition. All you need to do now is to build the Yoda statue with proper bricks!! Quote
Smack Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Excuse me I will be right back................... Ok thanks for waiting - I was having a difficult time putting my jaw back in its proper place after seeing the entire build. There is so much to take in on just the one side, then you throw the hammer down on the second! Unbelievable work, sir. It should be put in some sort of Lego National History Museum or something. Quote
pedro Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Look at the size of that thing! Sorry, couldn't help the reference there! Really though, great work, really nice architecture and detailing too. Definately a first for the use of a planet and a LEGO torch in this context too! I really am jealous over the space and resuorces you have to build these scenes... Good luck in the contest. Quote
Purpearljellyblob Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Very nice, you have done it again! The second one you've built looks more majestic than the first. Quote
ACPin Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 Thanks again for all those who voted for this MOC! Just got this from the DHL guy today, AC Quote
