looks like Most Wanted  I'm trying to decide between BOSS and enforcer...Boss for lightweight and nice body+winch, while enforcer for vast amount of parts...maybe they will make super-extra hard springs? Most likely voting boss but will think about it....

rm8, if you change the center portion to white parts (the doors, A&C pillar and rooftop), add the police light, muscle car can be converted to enforcement transport. Any vehicle and even lamborghini models are seen in as police car in some countries.

I have to say that I very appreciate The Boss entry but my favourite one is Highway Enforcer just because in my opinion The Enforcer has got the body that is more sophisticated, shows bigger creativity and gives the whole crawler a completely new look and character comparing to the original 9398 crawler. I like the colour scheme where you can see mainly two colours (black and white) nicely combined with the third dark gray (great effect achieved without stickers!). I simply love "the patrol car" character of the enforcer, have to congratulate crazy1993 his idea for the crawler and hope to see his entry as a new technic set in the end (also concerning parts and colours that he used). And also can't forget about two versions of the crawler: closed and opened. Once again my congrat's to crazy1993.

I had a really hard time voting because of all the great entries. In the end, I wanted something that was as different from the original 9398 as possible, while obviously retaining the same chassis. Therefore that meant I wanted something that didn't really look like a crawler. I also wanted something that actually looked like it belonged on that chassis. Based on those criteria, I picked hrontos' quad bike. It looks completely to scale with a real quad bike and is just much bigger and more functional than any LEGO has released before. Looks like it has no chance of winning, but this is the one I'd be most likely to buy if I saw it on a shelf.

Same here. It is funny, most people that I have talked with about these entries liked the quad bike the most, but it isn't even in the equation.

Thank you for your support. :classic:

I really appreciate that you voted what you preffer and not as I have seen in some comment: "it has no chance to win now, so I voted for some other". It is very common that in such contests that people want to be a part of the winning team.

This kind of contest is always about a support of some kind of community. Just like some CUSSOO projects supported by some fan base. I think, TLG is aware of that. It is very standard behavior and they probably expected that. If voting was linked to a pre-order, there would be much less voting people, but probably votes were more relevant from the business point of view. On the other hand, this is a PR action and profit is not that important. It is may be much more important, that many people talk about it.

Personally, I would much rather vote for what I liked the most or not vote at all rather than just accept defeat and join the local fanbase. In my very honest opinion, this should have been a very tight necked race between all 3 of you right up to the very end. However the 2 other models(Which are also very deserving of winning) are miles ahead. I think all 3 are equally as good, but I would have to give yours the nod for originality.

Where exactly are the other 2 models being promoted at?

I don't know, if crazy_1993 made some local posting anywhere, I presume that his entry has much more "WOW" factor thanks to police theme, size and color scheme, so it is gaining votes based on that. Problem is, that people do not recognize that with that part count it is probably the most expensive entry and belongs to a completely different category.

rm88 stated here that he made some post on some Russian forum with more than 1000 views in 6 hours. This in combination with worldwide fans of mustang style design is probably source of his votes. Problem is, that there is low chance for the voters to really buy it, since LEGOshop ships only to some countries.

Voting in combination with a price info and pre-order would probably end-up as you expect - much more tight race. I hope TLG will repeat this kind of competition also this year - I consider it very nice to give fans the possibility to really produce their models. May be just a bit fine-tune the rules.

EDIT: I just read the official comments. TLG Moderators are having hard time approoving all of them. :classic: The power of community is huge. I presume it will falloff in a few days and enforcer will try to catch-up.

I really appreciate that you voted what you prefer and not as I have seen in some comment: "it has no chance to win now, so I voted for some other". It is very common that in such contests that people want to be a part of the winning team.

We have the same problem in our political elections! People vote based on who they think will win, not who they actually like.

In this case, I voted not just based on what I like, but what I would buy. These are not necessarily the same thing. Some of the other models were also fascinating designs, but I probably wouldn't buy them. In fact I think that is a flaw in this contest. For example, the contest is now on the Frontpage of Eurobricks. This means that a lot of people who are not even Technic fans and have no interest in buying the model are going to be voting. They are probably going to be voting purely based on what looks the best to them. From LEGO's point of view, these are probably not useful votes because they do not translate into sales. This means that a model could win which no one will actually buy which would undermine the contest.

Luckily, since you have an LXF file we can all build your model whether it is ever an official set or not!

Problem is, that people do not recognize that with that part count it is probably the most expensive entry and belongs to a completely different category.

This is also a good point. If the price was projected each model, voting would be different. For example, the quad bike could probably sell for the original $200 price point, but the highway enforcer might be $300. Therefore if the voting is based on what you would buy, you might be more likely to buy the quad bike than the highway enforcer even if you like the enforcer better just because the price is better. Voting between models with totally different part counts isn't really fair.

Voted!

There are some fantastic entries!

I suspect LEGO will rework whatever the wining entry is. Should a more parts intensive entry win, it will probably be heavily reworked.

Good luck to all the entries!

Hehe, very common issue. :classic: If you want to win ellections, just buy good preliminary poll results from some agency and publish it somewhere.

I agree, but I also think that "WOW" factor of model is important. As you see from other threads, many fathers and moms just buy it for 6-12 years old kids and for them this "WOW" and good looking is very important. No the technic functions, leaning, speed or whatever. Just the immediate look. They want to hear "WOW" under the Christmass tree.

Luckily, since you have an LXF file we can all build your model whether it is ever an official set or not!

Yes, anybody can try it and test it. I can modify it, to include official building steps, so that anybody can build it. LDD by default will generate terrible steps, but using groups I can force any custom building sequence.

I can't vote, because the website won't let me make an account with my desired username, and neither can I log in, but as I won't buy it anyway I'll refrain from voting. If I were to vote, I'd probably pick crazy1993's Highway Enforcer, because it looks the most like a complete model where everything is just right. I love the quad bike as well because it's original, even though quad bikes do not have my personal interest.

I think this contest would have been more interesting if there were different categories to which each model was rated on a scale from 1-10, like Originality, Build Technique, cost, ect... And that was factored into the winning submission...

But I suppose they just want to keep it simple...
