2013-lego Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Hello all, I have just completed my first MOCs. I really like to use different colors. All the parts in the MOCs are readily available in the colors used. The first one is called Brickstreet and exists out of five buildings. Four of the buildings are 8 studs wide and one of the buildings is only 6 studs wide. The next building is an orange modular building, using manly orange and dark orange. That was it for now. Soon new buildings. Take care! Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Very nice! I love all the detail you packed in to such skinny buildings! Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Nice first building, but AWESOME second one......delightful 18th century inspired structure.....Brick On '2013-lego' ! Quote
Vindicare Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Pretty cool. I like all the details you have in the top photo. Quote
lostdriveway Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Great work! Really love the modular look with such small sized buildings!! Well done! Quote
eurotrash Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I really like the facade of the second image and that color combination works well. Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
Kristel Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 These look great. I particularly like the colour combinations in the first set of building, as well as the brick built doors. The trashcans are a nice touch too, and add to the realism of the buildings. The larger stand alone building has a very grand look about it. The tan and dark red trim between the first and second floors is awesome. May I borrow that one day? I think the front door of the second building lacks a bit a "grandness" compared to the rest of the building. Maybe solid brick built doors would work better? Quote
TheBricktator Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Wow I love the street buildings! They're just great! The street lamp is a nice addition to bring the viewers eyes to. And to fill the break in the alleyway. Really cool stuff! Quote
Yooha Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 That's fantastic. I like the lamp posts the most. Were they designes in LDD? Because I can't find a proper orange in the software, the one you used in the right building on the 1st picture. It looks it is different from the orange on the 2nd picture. Quote
L@go Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Welcome to Eurobricks! And what a nice way to make an entry. These MOCs are both lovely, with so many great details. I obviously love your colour choices, and the black iron railing and the diagonal bars on the windows above the entrance door on the orange building are superb additions. The brick-built doors are very nice, too, and the architecture looks realistic - as far as I can tell, it could be lifted from any old Dutch town. The second building is also great - again, lovely colour choices. I'd love to see these built for real. Please? :) Quote
2013-lego Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 Thank you all for your input! Really appreciate it. @Kristel: sure you can borrow it @Yooha: This was made in MLCad. The colors of the buildings in the first picture are (from left to right): Sand Green, Tan, Sand Red, Dark Orange and Medium Dark Flesh. These are the color names, as they are called in MLCad and on bricklink. Quote
The Dutch Guy Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 First of all, welcome to Eurobricks. And second...... Brilliant, brilliant. The fronts look spectacular. If these are your first MOC's, then i am very ancious to see the next ones. Quote
RoxYourBlox Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 The colors, texture, and variety are outstanding! As good as the model looks rendered, I think you'll find it will look that much better in real life. And welcome! Quote
PsyKater Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) You did a superb job on color choice. Your models are really, really good. At first I thought the first MOC represents Mini Modulars. What color did you use in the center building of your first moc? Just seen your answer. And would you share your files? Edited January 10, 2013 by PsyKater Quote
Phazon Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Welcome to Eurobricks 2013-lego! It seems like Brickshelf isn't working at all, so I'll have to wait to see the pictures.I am looking forward to see them! Quote
jimmynick Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Wow! The doors on the brown and small orange buildings are superb! All your buildings are jam-packed with detail. Welcome to EB, 2013-lego, and great work! Quote
Redhead1982 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 You have skill! The design of the narrow houses is wonderfull, their facades are interestingly detailed, and are full of different styes, yet they fit nice together. Also, the snoted doors on the buildings look fantastic. The dark orange building is much larger than the street layout, but it fits in with them great. You have developed an interesting style of building and I'd love to see more modular buildings from you. Keep it up! Quote
Zed_43 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Love them! Your tiny modular building are awsome! Congrats!!! Now, you just have to build them with real bricks^^. Quote
Andy D Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Great work! I really like the building architecture, colors, texture and all the little details. Andy D Quote
Ralph Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I love the Brickstreet row of buildings, well done indeed! Quote
Faefrost Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 The color choices and blending and details on that second building are just jaw dropping. Well done. Quote
scottwb2010 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Welcome lego-2013. They are great buildings you have made there. I realy like the one in picture 2. The dark red trim realy stands out and the designs reminds me of Austrian buildings. Quote
brickcitydepot Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I love the narrow buildings. excellent job Quote
Phazon Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 It was definitely worth the wait, I espacially love the second building. It resembles some buildings I liked to build myself, but are ofcourse, a bit too large for my layout. There are some interesting building techniques you've used, well done. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I'm with everyone else. I love these MOCs. They are beautiful and blend well together. You did a great job with 8 wide buildings. My concern, I'd love to see them in 16 wide. I may have to "borrow" some of these ideas and start building my own 16 wide versions. I just built the Pet Shop and fell in love with the smaller scale modulars, but I fear 8 wide may be too small for my liking. However, you've done an amazing job with these. The brick-built doors are neat and I love the window detailing. Keep up the amazing work. I will definitely check back on this post for inspiration. Quote
