def Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Trumpetking has never played blackjack before. http://www.qfit.com/...kjack-rules.htm A casino Blackjack game consists of a dealer and one to seven players. You do NOT play Blackjack against other players; You play against the dealer. In fact, other players are not relevant to your play. They are mainly a distraction. You are betting that you have a better hand than the dealer. The better hand is the hand where the sum of the card values is closer to 21 without exceeding 21. A hand that is greater than 21 is referred to as "busted" and automatically loses.
TrumpetKing Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Oh, I've played this concept before, I'm kind of embarrassed now. Hit me.
def Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Trumpet gets... For a total of 21! Stay! Pie gets... For a total of 22. BUST!
def Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Currently Adam and Hinck have stayed at 18, Trumpet has 21, Pie bust, and we're waiting to see if Scouty hits or stays...
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I have, so basically, you say it's his time to be scum, but that is completely over-the-top metagaming so that is not supposed to be paid attention to? So then, you change the subject slightly and mention he won't message you privately? And if metagaming is something we should watch out for, then that gives an O.K. reason to lynch him, according to your statement. I don't think he should be lynched, however, there are others who should be lynched more, such as Piratedave84. Why PirateDave?
TrumpetKing Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Actually, there's nothing that implies that a townie won the puzzle. Def said that the first person to get the puzzle would be given absolute immunity from actions in night one. Which means that anyone with an action (scum or no) would get a strongarm too. He was just saying that scum would probably get the best use out of it. So *ping*, yourself. I also find it hard to believe that Piratedave would reveal all that information about the puzzle without even trying to google and solve it himself first. My gut is telling me he posted his information after his scum team had already got the puzzle correct. Here, Hinck But that is TinyPie's opinion, and it isn't a very strong lead, but it is pretty decent.
def Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Scouty has 10 minutes, and if he doesn't check in, he's staying. You don't start a game and walk away from the table. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alright, the dealer has... I'm sorry to say, Adam, Hinckley, Scouty, and CallMePie have lost their votes today! On the other hand, Tumpetking67 now has two votes today (voting for one person will have double value). Maybe later we can do one more round. Just to show there was no funny business, here are the cards in the order they were drawn.
Tamamono Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Gah, I turn around for a second and suddenly I miss Blackjack!
Shadows Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 That was a lot of crap to wade through, and now you're playing games. In a game. Whatever. Cornelius already told me he won't talk to me in private during this game, so I have to make jokes with him in public. Sounds like as good a scum tell as any. No, wait, talking to you in private would be the perfect chance to use you, if you were in your Jesus game, so maybe he knows that you're scum. One of you is scum, I can smell it by the hair on my metagaming chinny chin chin. I really do have a fabulous beard, all manly and thrust-worthy. Mayor: Cornelius Murdock
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Seeing as I lost my vote, I may as well say who I would be voting for. I would vote for TrumpetKing67 based solely on the Scumminess of this post: Well, all this argument over who the mayor should be has been quite confusing. Seeing as our mayor only helps with tie-breakers in the vote, I do think that it would be better to vote for a mayor that has more experience, because a more experienced player should be able to spot scum with ease compared to some of us who are less-experienced. However, the mayor is likely to be a target, and if we elect someone experienced, and they get killed, there is the chance that they may be town. I personally don't want to take the chance of losing an extremely valuable Eurobricker, so I think it would be best to vote for Flare. Mayor: Flare
TrumpetKing Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Please, care to explain how it is scummy? I don't see how it is.
iamded Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 So people are wagering up their votes, hmm? We know there's a vote penalty for not voting. If the winner gets the other 4 players' votes, and refrains from voting, would he get a 5 vote penalty the next day, or would each of the players get a penalty? Well, with that concluded I guess it answers all those questions. As for whom to vote mayor, I think it makes more sense to vote for someone we know, easier to determine a change in behaviour if they get converted. Mayor: CorneliusMurdock
TrumpetKing Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 All I did was state that the more experienced players should be a bigger asset, so I would be more comfortable having an inexperienced player as mayor, so we can keep the experienced players here to help. You stated that you didn't want to be mayor, were you trying to avoid attention? Plus, you started the vote for Flare as mayor.
def Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Voting is mandatory, except in a case where one has lost their vote.
DarthPotato Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 You stated that you didn't want to be mayor, were you trying to avoid attention? No asterisks! Anyway, why do you think that post was scummy, Hinckley? Was it because of him hopping on the bandwagon for voting Flare as mayor? Was it because of his opinion and how he kept changing it in that post? While I can see the scummy sides of it, I think you should elaborate a little. But I do find his reaction odd, how he pointed a finger at Hinckley right away.
TrumpetKing Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 What was the "No Asterisks" thing about? Was that from Heartlake? I must have missed it.
Adam Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Damn it. Does this mean I can't vote for mayor either? Whatever, I was never good at blackjack. Besides, I have a sexy hat.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Why are you campaigning for it? More WIFOM... Because I think it's important that a townie that will pay attention and participate gets it and I'm the only one I know for sure qualifies. Heck, why don't we don't we just lynch one nominee, then cross our fingers that the SK kills the other one? And the SK is going to do what you say because....? The SK is not going to go for someone that has any attention on them at all. There could be a watcher about. We almost certainly have a protector, unless def is deliberately screwing us over. Figure it out. And don't get me wrong. I'm just trying to start discussion. I'm not saying that Cornelius, Rick and Pandora are all Scum or any of them. There's no proof for that. Although, it's Cornelius's turn, for sure. However, I'm saying that they'd be able to more comfortably tell that she wasn't Scum since they played with her so closely during that game. It's quite a long shot, mind you. Trying to set up a future lynch by calling a bunch of random people scum? They just disagreed with your choice for mayor. At least they had a good reason to vote rather than "I don't know Flare at all. Let's put him in charge!". That rule of not talking in private applies to you as well, if it makes you feel any better.
JimBee Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I see Cornelius as the optimal mayor candidate at this point. Having the nerve to put himself up for election is a towntell (although it could be leaning null due to his experience), and frankly, I want someone at the front that I can read (I can't read Flare) and I trust Cornelius to hammer correctly if necessary. Or he could be scum playing in front, a common and valid tactic. Let's not rule out any possibilities here. By no means do I think Cornelius has given us a towntell... but I think it's worth a shot to just elect him anyway. It's not an all-powerful role, and maybe it will tell us things as far as behavior and actions. Who knows? Mayor: CorneliusMurdock And why is everyone calling what appears to be a SK kill a Psycho Killer kill? Unless I've been very mistaken the last couple of years, third party killers are called Serial Killers, not Psycho Killers. Did the SK slip and out his role's name? Erm, no one has heard of the psychopath role? It's not on MafiaWiki anymore as it's own page, but it's definitely a variation a Serial Killer that can be "cured" by the psychiatrist. It's been used on Eurobricks before, too. If I may share my own personal, general thoughts right now, I think Darkdragon's behavior is a little odd. I agree with Hinckley that not wanting to discuss certain things because they're a waste of time, or whatever she said, is pointless. Discussion is everything, and that's exactly what we do with our time so I don't really see how we'd be "wasting" it by discussing the SK (who, according to DD is of higher concern...) instead of the scum. I also agree with TinyP that we cannot eliminate the possibility that DarthPotato got the correct answer before posting his advice. He could have been entirely transparent, or it was a scum ploy to seem transparent. That much is unclear, but I'm not letting my suspicions down because of this action.
def Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Damn it. Does this mean I can't vote for mayor either? No, the mayor vote is not a proper vote, so go ahead.
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Please, care to explain how it is scummy? I don't see how it is. You state how confused you are, a common Scum tactic. Instead of just professing confusion, ask for clarification. Actively participate. Then you excuse everything you do by saying why you shouldn't vote for Flare for mayor and then vote for him. Scum tell. Ping. Trying to set up a future lynch by calling a bunch of random people scum? They just disagreed with your choice for mayor. At least they had a good reason to vote rather than "I don't know Flare at all. Let's put him in charge!". First of all, I didn't even notice that the three of you disagreed with my "choice" for mayor. Why does one vote have so many people suspicious? And speaking of being a drama queen, you think the mayor will be in charge of things? Settle down. He or she will break any tie that occurs in the voting. That's hardly anything I would consider being "in charge". I also agree with TinyP that we cannot eliminate the possibility that DarthPotato got the correct answer before posting his advice. He could have been entirely transparent, or it was a scum ploy to seem transparent. That much is unclear, but I'm not letting my suspicions down because of this action. Shouldn't you suspect PirateDave67 then? Isn't that who TinyPies posted about?
