Crap. I confused Flare with MacK all of day one, and he only called me out on it around 2 in the morning. (Granted, I posted after that, but so sue me for waking up at 3 in the morning to check the mafia game and find that my vote wasn't counted.) Ah well. That wasn't integral to why I voted to lynch him. Is this the sort of stuff we shouldn't be posting in the night thread? Do I have to engage in a pillow fight? This is a game thread, right?

And to keep in character:

Oh, I certainly intended to vote for Flare, I just thought that he was MacK in Jedi Temple Mafia. Since that's not the case, it doesn't effect my case for voting for Flare all that much. The game was a long while back (I think almost a year now) so I jumbled up the characters. As I said, I've been rather busy. I wasn't completely sold, but i didn't disagree at all with the previous cases made for him, and lacking any other incites--I hadn't even seen the Hinckley case when I last checked in for more than 5 minutes--I dicided that I hadto vote, and Flare's vote seemed the most likely to help us.

How many people did Flare contact to entice to vote for Hinck?

He sent me a PM with less than 30 mins to go in the day and asked me to re-vote for Hinck.

He didn't PM me.

Hearing this news about Flare makes me feel a bit better about voting for him, that's a pretty drastic move. I wonder if he had any dirt on Hinck, or if it was just desperation.

Somebody else told me Flare contacted them as well asking to switch their vote to me.

If Flare is Scum, and PMing people to switch their vote is pretty Scummy, I wonder if his doing that could've united the two teams. :look:

I myself did not receive such a PM.

It looked more like a desperate attempt to save his own big behind and I guess he thought it'd be easier to contact people that hadn't voted for him.

That's what I think. I didn't get any such PM, though.

Can you explain this role thing now, Big Cam?

Probably because every vote tally announced that you weren't eligible to vote.

Then that would explain why he didn't PM me either.

Mind you, I'm surprised he even noticed I'd voted for him and didn't PM me anyway.

And surely actually responding to the concerns of the people voting for him in the thread might have a greater beneficial impact for him than PMing a bunch of people who had decided to vote for someone else entirely. He wanted people to vote for Hinck, but wasn't concerned about getting people to unvote him? Still odd.

I feel left out. Did he give any reasons or did he just tell you that you should?

Besides that I had "voted for him (Hinck) before and should switch it back because he is scummy" ... no

He did add a very important thing though ... "Hinck is Mafia"

I think it makes some sense in that Hinck was the only other person on the list that was close to a majority and it sounds like this was very close to the end of the day. The other thing about PM instead of posting, is that maybe Flare thought anyone line at the time might get instant notification of the PM but perhaps not subscribed to the thread. Since he was contacting those who didn't vote him, maybe he thought that it would be easier to get them to switch quickly than to get someone who voted him to switch, which does make a lot of sense really.

If he'd actually argued in thread like Pandora said, maybe he would have been successful.

Is that all he said, Dave? That Hinck was Mafia? Doesn't sound like game changing secret information that he couldn't have told everyone.
