cleaning lego pieces

Hello,

Ive recently started my lego hobby again and i sorted all my pieces by color.

But some of them are discolored and a bit dusty like the white and light gray ones.

Is there a way to clean them up and make them look like new ?

And how can i prevent this in the future?
