Capn Frank Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 ya, i've talked with sellers that get some of there parts from LEGOland PaB. but they only sell basic bricks and plates through those outlets... i doubt you could actually build an official set with just those elements... definitely not a SW set ;-) BaW put it well... i think the minifigs are the difference in copmike's example... that is where all the mark up comes... at least it seems. ... - BrickMiner BrickMiner, I'm sure you've been to this site already. But just in case, Lego also has PaB online with a lot more unique elements than what is usually found at a Lego store's PaB. online PaB: About using BL, I've never used it. Just use what i've got most of the time. Though, I'll probably be purchasing Imperials on there soon. Phred Quote

Heck, in many cases, pricing doesn't really compare either. Bricklink simply offers more bricks for better prices. Quote

I only buy from online PaB when i'm purchasing a set online to maximize the bricks i get with the current shipping cost. For instance, i wanted a $10 lego set and it's $5 shipping. Anything under $25 is $5 shipping so i get $15 worth at PaB. Quote

Bricklink simply offers more bricks for better prices.i have shopped with LEGO.com PaB twice now.... it is interesting to see what is cheaper on BL and what is cheaper on LEGO.com. minifig elements are cheaper on LEGO.com (not that there is much), but this goes back to support BlueandWhite's post about and minifig prices on BrickLink. it is where all the profit is made from "parting out".im mean, for example, on BL a Lando Calrisian is 30-40 USD. if LEGO offered it online that fig would be the same cost as Engineer Max or Conductor Charlie... about 1 USD. personally, i have only used LEGO.com PaB for train tracks. its the only "old" gray still in stock ;-) -------------------------------------------------- Relax - your rep is solid :-D! :-D ;-) - BrickMiner Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted January 31, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted January 31, 2007 I always start building a MOC with the brick that I already have. And of course during the building process I always discover that I'm missing stuff. So then I start looking on BL and try to buying all pieces that I need from 1 (ideal situation) or 2 shops situated in Belgium or Europe. Just reached 50 buys on BL. Quote
