On the contract to what it seems to be for a lot of people, I spend very little annually on technic. The only purchase of $20+ last year was the 9398 Crawler.

I do not know how much i spend in a year, but I just calculated that my Technic collection is worth/did cost about 6500 euros, but I have got some sets that I plan to keep and sell later on.

can't be bothered looking up exactly how much I have spent in the last two years, but it would definitely be more than half of my sets.

my sets come to $7056 US on Brickset, but I would have spent at least $10,000 NZ on all my LEGO (mostly Technic) mainly because LEGO is ridiculously expensive in New Zealand ($400 for the Unimog!!!), which is why I have bought most of my lego in the last two years via Bricklink, because even including the shipping (which isn't cheap) it is still cheaper than buying locally!

Here in Norway the Unimog retails for 1700 kr, which at the moment equals to about 370 NZ, so you are not alone. The worst is that the crawler costs just as much as the Unimog, but in many, at least European countries, the crawler costs much less compared to the Unimog.

i think i spent around EUR1,000 last week for technic alone. cannot resist the 50% price discount for unimog, 4x4 crawler, logging truck and 9396 big helicopter. so i bought 3 sets each

Figuring out what new sets are coming out this year, I will be spending at least $1000 CDN + whatever the cost of the new boss 4x4 crawler is hopefully. That isn't including anything I might buy off bricklink, or any duplicates I might buy if I really like the part selection. I can almost see myself buying a second green service truck and F1 car which will make my bank account cry.

I have, since my return from the dark ages less than a year ago, spent way to much, especially on bricklink! I have bought several of the newer sets second hand, and gotten pretty good deals (8455 : 1000 NOK, 8420 : 300 NOK, 8297 : 500 NOK, 8043 : 900 NOK, 8109 : 350 NOK etc etc) (10 NOK roughly equals 1 GBP).

I have to take a break from buying sets though, due to space limitations, and I don't even keep any of them assembled!:-)

A lot of my PF parts come from models I bought. 8043 ext. If I need something else then I'll order through LEGO Direct. Their prices are by far the lowest. I'm waiting for them to start selling Servo and L motors this March. I've spent no more than 50 USD of PF parts exclusively.
