The figure looks okay and if i get one i get one, but i wont chase it.

Is the 5000 thing confirmed anywhere or is it interesting hearsay?

How much you think will cost on the after market?

Not that I am planning on buy one, is just curiosity.

Isn't it great that all you get is a unique code to log your find and see how many are out there. There will always be people who don't open it and thus won't use the code to log theirs, while others will have the code and not log it just because they don't feel like it.

There really isn't an incentive to own one other than the fact it is 1 of 5,000. I bought one of the comic-con figures, which is neat, but I don't think I feel any different after having owned one. I doubt I would feel any different if I find a golden one (although I do secretly want one).

It's cool and all, but I'm not particularly psyched. Honestly I'd rather get my hands on some of the rare minifigures that have come out as special promotions. Still want a Green Lantern, would love a Black suit Spiderman, that sort of thing. And the whole 5,000 in the world thing. Might as well be 0.

Hello, If you guys have not noticed apart from Series 10 Minifigures, Lego has given us a a "treasure hunt" if you will to find the "Super Rare" Minifigure called Mr. Gold. You can check him out here: http://www.flickr.co..._hu/8573408681/

I think this is a great Minifigure they have made but also I'm not going to buy 2-3 boxes just to find him. I find this to be Lego's little schemes to get more money in as usual.

Say what you guys think in this thread!

P.S. I am sorry I could not get the picture actually here in a rush :classic:

Hope you guys have a great building weekend,

Rail Co

NOTE: This picture is not from my Flickr account thanks to kockamania.hu for his pictures of this and all the minifigures .

I am not going out of my way to look for Golden Minifigures. However, if I do find one Golden Minifigure *oh2*:wub_drool:(or even more than one of them! *huh**oh2*:cry_happy::wub_drool::grin_wub:), and I know almost for sure that it is a Golden Minifigure by me feeling for the parts that set the collectable minifigure polybag that I'm feeling there apart from all other collectable minifigure polybags of that particular Minifigure series in the same store at that particular time, I will most certainly buy it (if I have enough money to spend on one more collectable minifigure after I have found all of the other collectable minifigures that I want in my collection of a particular series). (This is in me assuming that there are no other collectable minifigure polybags that I want and/or need in my collection that are from a different Minifigure series, and at that particular store and at that particular time.)

This is a fun idea!

A lot of people here are rather jaded. Don't be! It's just a game, maybe you'll get lucky.

And yes, it's a way to make money - that's how promotional things work. Why else would Willy Wonka give out golden tickets? To make money!

And to find an heir to the factory without going into the outside world.

But yeah, I don't mind Mr. Gold. I'll be interested in seeing what sort of gold minifigs will show up in future series, if this is indeed the start of a trend; perhaps we'll see a Mrs. Gold at some point?
