Borador Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) yes ye yes The death of boromir Aragorn defending the people and falling over the cliff fight at the river nazgul at the prancing pony the final fight before erobor That's a pretty safe bet. That's exactly what I expect if anything does come. As for customs, GreenPeaToys already makes a Witch King with a helmet, and Gondor soldiers (but they have generic helmets). I really do wish LEGO had made the Eowyn from the game. I really love that design. Shame it won't ever be made in plastic... Edited September 7, 2014 by Borador Quote
Ql97 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 So who do we want to pick up the LOTR license after Lego gives it up next year? Which clone brick makes the best accessories that work with lego minifigs? If is ever end up buying a clone brand, even for LotR, just put me out of my misery. Quote
Darth Caedus Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 This is currently the state of the Lego Tolkien fandom. Sums up my mood, at least. Quote

KristofBD Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 please support lego mnas tirith on cuusoo, it may be our only hope! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/36275 I agree, whether one likes the design or not, this seems to be the project that is gathering the most support (and has not flatlined, but is still steadily increasing its support), so it may be a good idea to support this one whatever one feels about the way it is executed. wesker Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The beauty of Lego is that even if you don't like the design of a set you can easily change it to whatever you want. Quote
MAB Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) I don't think think I will ever go for a third party to get the helmets and weapons for my LEGOs. My hope is that the CMF line will come out with a Viking Chieftan helmet that is useful for a Ewoyn helm. But I acknowledge that the odds are slimmer than Bridge Forge giving a Gondor and Witch King helm. I doubt they will do a viking helmet (with hair) any different to this one... (S6 viking woman) Why is brickwarriors ok but off band is evil, its lego or nothing for me. Anyway we are way off topic although sadly that's all we have. I don't mind other brands doing novel items that are compatible with lego. It is when they do direct copies of existing lego parts that they become bad. Edited September 8, 2014 by MAB Quote

I am not a MODDER or a big MOCCER :) so for me such beauty does barely exist, especially with bigger sets...... I did not need to mod of mor Bag End because it looks great...... and thats a good example of what I expect from LEGO if they want my money :) Quote
Sarah Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I was at my local Wal-mart last night and they had several LOTR and Hobbit sets on their clearance rack. Black Gate was $30!!! They had 5 copies there. A TON of Dol Guldur Ambush (Only a small markdown) And 1 of the Laketown Chase, again on small markdown. 2 of the Hobbit House but I didn't see a price. Quote

I did not need to mod of mor Bag End because it looks great...... and thats a good example of what I expect from LEGO if they want my money :) Agreed, but now I am thinking about to start create something mine based on existing sets for example to mod existing builds to make them larger (Black Gate, Rivendell) and create new add ons to Bag end like Green Dragon, and maybe the citadel of MT and put here Aragorn in his Kingly attire, with Gimly, Gandalf, Arwen and some more of mine existing figs. I like Mocs who looks like a sets... Those enormous brick eating builds are beautifull but there is not such a feeling in it. I like original sets integrated into landscape but those monster builds is too much on my even that I admire them :) Quote

Yeah I was out this weekend trying to find some cheap Black Gates, but they're not in stock around here. I did get the Dol Guldur Ambush and the Attack of the Wargs on clearance though. I want Laketown Chase but I can see them dropping that price yet even further. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) That Minis Tirith is okay, but I like this one https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70809 better. P.S.Here's some updated pictures https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70809/updates Edited September 8, 2014 by Dr.Cogg Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I'd love to MOC some of these great locations, but I just don't have a lot of black or white (odd I know). I do like this MT that was posted more than the other one, but the other one has the luxury of votes being grandfathered in, so it at least has a halfway chance... Quote
sahidko Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 It may look better but with ~3900 pieces it would be the 4th biggest set of all time (did just quick google for it, so not 100%). Even with adjustments from LEGO side it would probably still belongs to TOP05, don't see that happening for theme that based on our estimations isn't selling that good. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I meant halfway chance of hitting 10k. I highly doubt it would ever get made. Quote

P.S.Here's some updated pictures https://ideas.lego.c...s/70809/updates This is the only LEGO LOTR idea of Minas Tirith that I supported, it looks fairly in proportions in its own size and looks decent with detail...... Now the only problem is get it below 3000 pieces to make it 350 or 400$ set :P Quote
Ardelon Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) I always thought you support ideas that you find attractive and good looking not just because someone else is supporting it, sheep mentality is not close to me really :P But whatever the build, we would at least get much-needed prints, if not molds. Nuju Metrus Minas Tirith seems like the only slightly possible way to get them. Edited September 9, 2014 by Ardelon Quote
ARSLOCK Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Anyone holding out hope they're just waiting to announce the new wave? ::fingers crossed:: I was in a dark period in 2012, so I missed the first wave of stuff. I found Helm's Deep at retail at the bottom of a shelf, but I just want the chance to get more urk-hai at a reasonable price. they are so expensive now! Quote
ChubbyMcPorkins Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Anyone holding out hope they're just waiting to announce the new wave? ::fingers crossed:: The smallest most optimistic part of me hopes for it, until the more realistic me crushes it and makes me see sense. Quote
Blakstone Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 There is no LotR sets this year or 2015. Barring an Ideas set or the petition working, there is no hope. Quote
Borador Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Well, if nothing else, there's someone making custom Gondor helmets. These are just prototypes, the final version will be in ABS; http://classic-castle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=25531 They aren't perfect, but I'm sure the ABS versions will be better... Anyways, I'll take them. Quote
KristofBD Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Not perfect, but very well nonetheless! Curious how the final product will be! Quote
