Preuss Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Have you seen that Lego LotR is mentioned in the summary of this 2014 Retailer Catalog allegedly sold on eBay? If true, there is only one page of LotR info vs three pages of Hobbit. Could it be just about last year's sets that are still in production? Orthanc perhaps? Best, Julio Quote
Robert_88 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I think this isn't the latest catalogue. Seems to be the one for January-June 2014. Quote
Blakstone Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 It is a retailers catalog, not the end consumer. Interesting. I did not see mention on the eBay page that there was a page for LotR and three for the Hobbit. But if that is true, that could mean that there are still some existing LotR sets available for retailers to order this year. If there is news in there about new LotR sets, I bet it will leak soon. The auction has already ended. Quote

Best, Julio Orthanc wouldn't be in a retailer catalogue, because it's a D2C exclusive. Quote
Robert_88 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 It is a retailers catalog, not the end consumer.. I know the difference. But I thought retailer catalogues cover the same period. Of course, retailers get the catalogue 5-6 months earlier. Quote
Darth Caedus Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 A page is still a page. We need to find out what was on it - if it was just Wave 2 or something else. Quote
Darth Punk Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Even if it is just wave 2 it would mean that it is going to be around for awhile. Which is odd since stores do not seem to be restocking it. Quote
LegoThomas Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 This could be interesting... Anybody know if retailer catalogues only show NEW products? Quote

The auction has already ended. There's no explicit mention to the number of pages... I'm just supposing that from the page numbers: Hobbit is 138, LotR is 141, and Ultra Agents is 142. Yes, there could be something else in between Hobbit and LotR, but it doesn't seem likely. Only US$ 15... I bet the seller could have made more money just by selling us a scan of page 141. :-) Quote
Robert_88 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) My french isn't very good anymore but according to Hoth Bricks it is the latest catalogue! Edit: No, this isn't sure. I asked the seller about the LotR sets and will tell you what he told me. Edited January 28, 2014 by Robert_88 Quote
Legoman123 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I hope we do get more LOTR sets this year. There is so much more left to do. Quote
Proximo Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I hope we do get more LOTR sets this year. There is so much more left to do. It's always a double-edged sword, i'am always appreciate new sets, but if there is to much out there i have to skip some because my budget is limited. Quote

I understand what you mean, i'm sort of going through the same this year because there is so many themes I want to invest in. But I guess one or two sets couldn't hurt? Quote
Proximo Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Of course not, but i would prefer a full wave next year instead of only two goodbye-sets. Quote
Deathleech Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) I would guess the one page is just the 2013 summer LotR sets. The eBay description says the catalog lists every 2014 Lego set available so that obviously means old sets as well. The 2013 LotR wave is not even a year old yet so they probably are still offering it to retailers to order? That would also explain it's one page compared to the other themes. Floundie Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Would there be any pics of the Hobbit sets or blank boxes again? Why three pages if there wasn't? And I'm positive those are just wave 2 LOTR sets. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Only one page of the retailer catalog is devoted to LOTR, so it could be that it simply shows off last summer's sets. But that would seem odd and outdated... Edited January 28, 2014 by The_Chosen_1 Quote
LegoThomas Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 If it's last summer, then there should be lone ranger. Right? Quote
Robert_88 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) The Lego Movie is mentioned so it should be the current (winter) wave. The current retailer catalogue contains the next summer wave. But as I mentioned earlier I think this isn't the current catalogue anymore. Edited January 28, 2014 by Robert_88 Quote
deskp Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 If it's last summer, then there should be lone ranger. Right? well it was the catalogue for end of 2013 start of 2014, Quote
Deathleech Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) If it's last summer, then there should be lone ranger. Right? It's the 2014 catalog. It says so right on the cover and there are a number of new sets being released in 2014 that are listed inside and weren't available last year (Disney Friends, Mixels, etc.). I am not sure where the confusion is coming from. The catalog should have all the sets available this year. That means ALL 2014 sets coming out as well as some from the later half of 2013 that are still in production and that retailers can order. Lego doesn't stop selling 2013 sets the second the new year rolls around. Lone Ranger isn't listed because that was available early 2013 (April) and was a more limited run (8 months or so rather than a year+) centered around the movie release. SMC Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I think we need to come up with a good way to show Lego how much we all want Gondor Quote

MKJoshA Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yeah, 80 pages of "We want Gondor " says it pretty loud Quote
wesker Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Anyone seen this Legends of Chima set from Toy Fair? I'd love to get a similar designed Mumakil. http://www.flickr.co...08/12212268364/ Edited January 30, 2014 by wesker Quote
