SMC Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 If they put another wave out, I will buy it all. It's that simple. +1 Quote

SMC Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 "Don't cry because it's over, smile and be greatful that it happened" I am a bit of both, it just seems a waste thinking of the sets we could have got, I think there are a lot of sets that would have been at the top of people list that have not been made. It all went a bit odd after wave one Quote
deskp Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Well, if you want gondor theres still time to support this... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/36275 Quote
Alcarin Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Well, if you want gondor theres still time to support this... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/36275 It just shows how little support this set is getting.... I guess its just not that good... since when was this available for support I rmemeber we had a discussion about it LAST year.... so thats ages and only a bit over 4000 supporters? Quote
Cammo Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Well, I haven't given up on it being discontinued. Why would there be an advertisement of the Wizard Duel in the most recent Lego catalogue? Quote
Balthazar Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Do not despair, i`m sure new LotR wave will come out in 2015. Gondor and Osgiliath wait for their own sets Quote
Mr. President Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Yeah, between the fact that licensed sets as a whole generally outsell non-licensed ones and the fact that the 2013 Castle line had less than half the number of sets and half the production run of Kingdoms, I wouldn't be surprised if Lord of the Rings comes back. I personally am not really stoked about that, because I like Castle and I've really had enough of the licensed sets already, but it would make sense. Quote
SMC Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Castle is good and lotr is better and this will be the only time we can see them so really hope for one more wave Quote
Moon_Knight Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I would love and hope we get more LOTR sets but for now my ent will be my Treebeard. Quote
atreyu2112 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I want SO much to have an authentic Treebeard. I have been trying to build one to match the Treebeard in the game but I don't have enough clear images... would be so much easier if they just release him as a $20-30 set. (hint hint Lego) Quote
deskp Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 How about this then? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70809 Quote
Blakstone Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Try the new Mixel joints if you want to MOC Treebeard. They are less than $5 US and have smaller ball and socket pieces. Quote
wesker Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 How about this then? *snip* https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70809 While I love the design of the citadel and tower, I think I prefer NujuMetru's Minas Tirith since it looks a bit tidier and more managable as a set, not to mention affordable. It also has the advantage of having 4300 more votes. Quote
Moon_Knight Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) I think this is an amazing representation of Lothlorien: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70260 I'd love to own this set with Galadriel and Celeborn minifigs! Edited July 8, 2014 by Moon_Knight Quote
Faefrost Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I think this is an amazing representation of Lothlorien: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70260 I'd love to own this set with Galadriel and Celeborn minifigs! That's gorgeous. sadly I don't think it has much chance. we know Lego was deep into doing a Lothlorien set. It appears in the game and there is a sketch model of it on a shelf in that picture of the design office. For whatever reason they elected not to produce it. (probably for the best. Lothlorien is major for the die hard Tolkien fans. But as a playset? It's kind of dull. The fact that the scene is bookended between the two best action sequences in all three movies doesn't help. ) Quote
atreyu2112 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I'd buy either of those 2 sets in a heart beat. I actually have looked at the brown mixel thinking about a MOC Treebeard, haha. Quote
Alcarin Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) How about this then? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70809 Now thats much much much much much better than that 1st version..... this is something I would actually buy and display..... Looks decent and in proportions with itself.... Supported it :D Edited July 8, 2014 by Alcarin Quote
Moexy Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Those mocs look fantastic, supported them both and would buy them in a heartbeat! Quote
Moon_Knight Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 If you guys look at the other projects that this guy has created, he has a Barad-Dur that looks amazing! Quote
atreyu2112 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I really like all of his sets. Especially the Battle of Kazad Dum & Cirith Ungol Quote
Moon_Knight Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 It's too bad we've missed a bunch of variant minifigs like Pippin in Gondor armor, Mary in Rohan armor, and Sam and Frodo in Mordor armor. Quote
Venkefedo Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) It's too bad we've missed a bunch of variant minifigs like Pippin in Gondor armor, Mary in Rohan armor, and Sam and Frodo in Mordor armor. Aside from the Council of Elrond, wave 2 of LOTR was hobbit-free! …that's just odd. I was really hoping for all 4 you mentioned (particularly because it'd be a way to get more use out of a Rohan helm, out of a possible Gondor helm, and a possible new Orc helm in addition to using them on more regular troops from those armies) Edited July 9, 2014 by Venkefedo Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Let's not get ahead of ourselves.. Surely it's more important to get key missing characters like Faramir and Gondor soldiers than new versions of Hobbits.. Quote
