exis Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Hi all! Let me present my creations for winter village Expand Competition III. If it is cold, you want to be warm. Are always people who want to winter in the summer and vice versa. Probably the I am one of them... The next expedition is very taken a great interest a treasure hunt. Now is Having New Year's holiday in the hot desert. But this is not a reason to despair. Maybe it's just a big fridge and industrial ventilation system. But do you know a lot of people can not see the snow in the winter. And for a little girl is a real holiday miracle. View inside the house. more general view Photos can be found in my flickr gallery. Thanks for looking. Have fun! Quote
gratefulnat Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 What a delightful twist in this competition. Great idea and well executed. I like so many things about this, but particularily the inside of the house. The fruit bowl, bed and hooka are just beautiful. Lots of fun, thanks! Quote
greg3 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Well that's certainly different!! It might not be very wintery but I still love it!! The building design is spot on and the interior details are perfect! The little wintery touches (snowballs, lights etc) just add to the fun. Nice work! Quote
eurotrash Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Nice spin on the theme. I like the snot base and the brick-work pathway, the snot roof and the tower. It really works well together. I'm just surprised you took the photos in the cat litter box Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
Andy D Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) This is teriffic! Not the first thing I think of for a Winter Village, but I still like it! So many nice touches. Which catches my eye first? Is it the SNOT? Is it the exterior and trim? Is it the interior? Not sure how it will do in the contest, but because of the uniqueness, it could do quite well! I may have to "borrow" some of your ideas for a desert city. Thanks for sharing this Andy D Edited January 27, 2013 by Andy D Quote
Redhead1982 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 This is far from being a winter theme MOC, but then not everyone has winter this time of year. I like the oriental style of the building. There's just so many little details that caught my eye. The 'bricked' pathway, the golden dome on tan pillars, and the rug, fish table and water pipe inside the building. Quote
paostmo Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 This is outstanding. I like the masonry bricks for the walkway, and the SNOT shaded area. The monkey is a nice touch too! I think this is a really great entry for the winter village contest. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 The most original idea ever in this contest.....a bit of snow in the desert......AWESOME ! Good luck and Brick On 'exis' ! Quote
Vindicare Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Excellent entry! I love the piece usage! Those gold fish for ornate table legs. The 'brick' bricks as a walkway path. The awning on the little stand. A really great build and a neat addition to PQ, I could see this being. Quote
L@go Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 While I don't see how this complies with the rule of being "similar in style and size to the previous official TLG releases," you have my utmost admiration for coming up with something so original! It's also a very impressive built with the SNOTwork you've done, and your use of printed bricks is just about perfect. I also love the one winter-y detail you have, the refrigerator - that's a funny idea well executed - and there are some amazing details in there, like the water pipe, the little table, and the fan. Good job :) Quote
vecchiasignoraceppo Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 ahahahahah, i really like it!! i never imagined how winter holidays in the desert could be, and this set is perfect to give that idea!!! Quote
Faefrost Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Superb MOC. I love everything about it. Great details, a clear and humorous little story. Perfect. I'm just curious about the name? I'm not sure what Dorp means? Quote
Artifex Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Wow, you can really feel you are in the desert! Nice colors, great design. The interior of th building is great! I especially love the floor technique. Quote
exis Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 Thanks everyone for comments. I'm just curious about the name? I'm not sure what Dorp means? I understand from the description in the dictionary...Dorp is a village or small town; in English its use refers chiefly to South Africa. I'm just surprised you took the photos in the cat litter box hahaha. But seriously, this box is a cover of the old electric stove. Quote
PsyKater Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Great build and superb presentation! Wonderful idea indeed. Quote
jimmynick Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Very nice, and completely unexpected! You made the windows on the house very well, and I like the clothes hanging on the line between the two parts of the scene. Quote
_bIG_fM_ Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 This is the one of the nicest builds i have ever seen! The details, the carpet, the pipe, everything is perfect! Quote
paostmo Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I'm very disappointed that I cannot vote for this build in the contest. Nevertheless, congrats on an excellent MOC. Quote
ManInATopHat Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Interesting twist! Great job on the build, I love it! Quote
