xwingyoda Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I think that this set will follow the same idea as the UCS Falcon: give hardcore fans, a huge set that is really MF sized !! I think that is a brilliant strategy 8- Quote

gylman Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I would happily pay $200 for a creator set that is really impressive and detailed. I have no use for Star Wars sets, impressive though they may be, and it would be great if we could get "UCS type" sets for adults or kids who build at a higher level in the other themes - Creator and Castle would be the best ones for that. oo7 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 The whole idea of UCS Falcon is really growing on me, It must be so impresive to display and even more entertaing to build, sould keep one busy for a good long while. I just hope that's some what the case of this cafe corner (although more like the ISD or DSII), I'd only love something not as trivial as Star Wars. it would be great if we could get "UCS type" sets for adults or kids who build at a higher level in the other themes - [sNIP] Pirates would be the best one [sNIP] for that. Much better!! *pirate* Quote
Hobbes Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Just a minor edit... ;-) X-D You want me to edit gylman's post and snip it out? :-P Quote
gylman Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Well! X-D I'll have you know that I've been advocating for a UCS-type castle on Lugnet, polls, emails to TLC, and other forums for the last 3 years. Like this http://news.lugnet.com/ambassadors/?n=51 And this http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...indpost&p=67424 So, please all join me in this endeavor (along with bringing back Adventurers). The reason I mentioned Creator is that as far as I am concerned, this is the only place where Lego has grown and shown really new ideas in the past 5 years. Somethings are better, truly, than before, but Creator has stood out for me. Sadly, I no longer believe Lego is capable of putting out a decent castle. Quote
maiq the liar Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 DAAAANG! Finally something up to brickshelf standards! I HONESTLY dont know how im gonna get that, a tie crawler, the train station and the dock plus a few bionicles with a summed up christmas+Birthday budget of 400 USD! Quote

This is a very interesting idea. And with so many beautiful sets TLC will give to us this year.... who knows? At least it was time for some managers to remind that LEGO is a construction toy.... And the new UCS Millennium Falcon is for sure a very good building experience. :'-) The future is bright, perhaps. 8-| Quote

I totally agree! I'd love to see a UCS castle of some type. Something huge with 20 or so minifigs would be awesome! Of course, a giant pirate ship would be just fine as well. I'd even be happy with a 2000-3000 piece town like some have suggested. Quote

(especially castle and pirates) My only concerns would be that a UCS Castle would be in bley. I'd much rather have a tan or black or even white castle (With red roofing perhaps? There's an idea...) then have to deal with a bley one. As for the cafe, if it's any good and not too pricey (<150 or so) then I'll probably get one. Quote
oo7 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I am getting really impatient with this. :-D I think Lego must have made a mistake priting this on the one U.S. calender as 'comming soon'. We should have had pictures or at least some general description a long time ago. We've had the City Pictures for a long while now and there not coming out until August......and the other sets on the now fairly old calendar include the AR shipwreck, The Golden Gaurdian, Princess and Pony Picnic ( :-D ), which were all released a fairly short while ago. I figured "ah, what the heck" and asked some of the Legoland CA employees about this, and both the "I don't know I just work here" employees and the "I'm a proud member of LUGNET, the global community of LEGO enthusiasts" employees had basically the same answer. No clue. Quote

Asuka Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 :'-) I see trees of green, red roses tooI see them bloom, for me and you And I think to myself, what a wonderful world I see skies of blue, and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night And I think to myself, what a wonderful world The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces, of people going by I see friends shaking hands, sayin' "how do you do?" They're really sayin' "I love you" I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow They'll learn much more, than I'll ever know And I think to myself, what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself, what a wonderful world Oh yeah Louis Armstrong Quote
El Bucanero Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Beautiful!! I have to buy that!!! Any details about the price?? This is minifig scale, so this is system isn't it?? Mr Tiber Quote
phoinix Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 for 2056 pieces this must have an interior!! this looks like a building found on brickshelf! one of those you wish lego would make but they never do.. but finally lego got it right! best lego city set ever!! Quote
xenologer Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Well, it looks very nice (before pics were taken down) I thought I saw... 2 women minifigs and one grey haired spielburg? I wonder if its just those 3 or if more might be hidden from view.... probly not Nice to see a set where the women outnumber the men for once. Not sure I'd buy it though, because I don't buy UCS display models, and this strikes me as the City equivilant to that sort of thing. -a beautiful ultra detailed model that you'd never want to take apart (at least no city I'd build with the parts would be a match for the original) -but whats the point of having one if you never take it apart?... ohwell, I have issues with UCS quality sets...
