I built most of this over my Christmas vacation, but I never got around to finalizing it. And I finally took pictures tonight. My wife got a new camera for Christmas, so needless to say I have no idea how to work it. Enjoy!

I figured any Winter Village could use a place to fill up their vehicles. Plus, it offers a nice little convenience store.

I apologize for the lighting on the first picture. But here is an overall view of the scene. Shows a pump, a vintage car, and a similarly styled building.

A better lit frontal view showing some icicles and lovely winter wreaths.

Here is a close-up of the gas pump.

A nice interior shot. Here I am buying a pretzel for my daughter. The owner's kitty is upstairs in his living quarters. And you can see the light brick.

"Sure son, you can borrow the car. Just bring it back with a full tank."

Keep in mind, I've never really built a car before. I thought this would fit in with the Postal carrier though.

You can take a look at my flickr account to get more interior shots and the rest of the exterior including the full line-up of people.

I had lots of fun building this.

Good luck to everyone.

Comments more than welcome.

I love almost everything about it! The color, interior, pump, car, you name it.

One thing I'm not crazy about is the gap(s) at the corner of the building but it's a trifling matter.

It's going to be tough to choose the winners this year.

The sand green is so lovely for this type of building -- it truly reminds me of a mountain Village setting, where some stores are Victorian-era structures and serve as owner residence too.

Best of luck!

Wow, awesome MOC... I love it! The snad green fits perfectly with the theme... The station is just great... I love the car and its colors -- although I'm not sure about the doors. I guess they would fall if you try to open them, isn't it? But I got to say this is a MOC worth of Lego itself.

Great work! I love the overall structure of the building and the sand green color is really awesome! And the car... oh my gosh! I can't find the appropriate words!

This year the competition is really though!

Good luck in the contest!

Lovely house and gas station! The pump looks very old-timey, which well suits the Victorian nature of the building. The car you built is nice, too; good job for your first one.

This is gorgeous and would fit in nicely with the official sets. It has a great colour combination and interior, and the car is perfect for the theme. I also like how you have included a dog as well as the standard kitten. This was a nice touch. Well done!

I actually like the car the most. It looks 'old-style' and fits in with the series nicely. The idea to make a gas pump is refreshing, and it's something you need when driving off to a winter village.Sand green looks nice on the building, and the detailing around the windows makes the facade more interesting. The only 'problem' is the gaps in the wall - it's hard to keep the insides warm. Nevertheless, it's a sweet build. Good luck!

Thanks for the comments everyone. That is one downfall of using sand green. I didn't have a lot of options to fill some of those gaps. I had to disassemble my Ollivander's and raid my Haunted House set to get the right size bricks. I knew there would be gaps, but they weren't as apparent until I had a photo taken with a white background  . I thought the sand green would look nice next to the other colorful buildings, so that's why I chose that color.

This was my first winter village building, but certainly not my last. I already have ideas for next year, I just need the appropriate colors now.

Thanks for looking!

I must say I am not acquainted with the Winter Village subject but this caught my eye, since it's clearly car-related  Well, if this is the first car you've ever built I must say I am looking forward for your future car MOCs since this is designed really well. You nailed the style, and that colour combo is gorgeous.

I love the station, too, especially the design of the pump. That would be enough awesomeness for me. But there is a house, too, which is very nice, especially the interior! All the parts fit very well together.

Good luck in the contest!

I'm glad you approve of the car. I've seen your MOCs and they are amazing  . I definitely plan on building more in the future. My town has lots of buildings and people but no vehicles!

Hi TheLegoDr,

I know this is an old thread, but I just want to say that this is one fantastic MOC! Especially I love the car and the gas stand, and I am planning to copy these two items for my Winter Village layout come December 2014! I have all the Winter Village sets but I am not very good at creating my own MOCs. When I see excellent MOCs like this, I try to replicate the best items to add to the official sets.

Could you please post some photos of the gas stand from the sides and from behind?

Also, for the beautiful car, what plates did you use for the bottom frame? You do not happen to have this in LDD, do you?

(I am new here, so sorry if it is inappropriate to ask questions like this - I just love the MOC and wish I could build it myself)

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Ok, so I managed to reverse engineer the car, looking at the pictures. I now have what looks like an exact replica. It was easier than I thought.

I think it will fit nicely in my winter village layout for next Christmas, although it is longer in reality than what I thought from the photos - and also too long compared to the vehicles of the original winter village sets from TLG, e.g. the mail van from the winter village post office. I am not sure if I can find a nice way to make it shorter without destroying the basic look and feel of the car. But there are two other improvements I will work on: as another user has pointed out in an earlier post, the doors lack support at the top so

I have ordered a Windscreen 2 x 4 x 2 Vertical (4594) from BL to see how that looks instead of the two panels for front screen. Also, the back mudguards could use some better support.

For the top of the gas stand at the gas station, I have now tried different parts to fix the round tile. My best guess is that a tap 1 x 1 (4599) has been used, but the gas stand then just looks a bit funny from behind... Any better guesses?

Thank you for your support. I thought I commented on here with your initial comment, but I guess I didn't. I don't have any photos other than what is in Flickr. I also disassembled this almost immediately after the photos were taken, so I have no recollection of how pieces are together on the gas pump. I'm sorry.

I do believe I built this to look decent in the photos, so I don't know how the top looks. I know I used one of those angled hinges that flips in the vertical axis.

As far as the car, I just wanted an old timey looking vehicle that might mesh with the rest. I didn't take scale into account. The doors could use some support, but since I don't play with my creations, I didn't find it necessary.

Thank you for your support. I'd love to see your winter village sometime!
