xxlrocka Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Maybe they're just not shown anywhere, because they don't want to disturb the ninjas. Quote
Devorath Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Any thoughts? We have this comic book synopsis though: http://www.papercutz.com/shop-all/lego-ninjago-vol-8/ Seems Garmy joins the team, and they travel around Ninjago to stop the 'Doomsday Devices' Garmy placed earlier in case he failed. Start Speculating! Quote

Start Speculating! I don't think we can automatically assume that this is related to the 2014 storyline. While it's definitely set after the "final battle", in general the graphic novels tend to tell "side-stories" not essential to the main continuity. Let's not forget that the second graphic novel, "Mask of the Sensei", was actually released in February 2012 and took place after Garmadon's defeat in the 2011 story, but had nothing to do with the Serpentine or Green Ninja story arcs-- it was a stand-alone story. Of course, we shouldn't rule out that it might be related to the 2014 storyline, either. But frankly, it seems most likely to me that it would be a stand-alone story, since again the graphic novels are non-essential to the overarching story, and that means that the plot of this graphic novel would have to be retold in the show if it were a major story chapter (We can assume that the show will be coming back in some form, whether as an actual new season or a series of webisodes-- after all, if Hero Factory and Star Wars can have webisodes of the quality previously seen in their TV specials, the same would certainly hold true of Ninjago). howie28 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Hopefully they do have a new TV series and don't just stop like they did with bionicle after the web of shadows, then come back a few years later with a whole different story. Kids who watched them wouldn't understand why they were so different. Edited January 30, 2013 by howie28 Quote
DraikNova Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 They're releasing it next year, so they're probably just going to continue the established story. Quote
just2good Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 BrickRaider claims to have a 2014 Ninjago figure, but something doesn't seem right about it. There's so many wrongs pointing against it, so I call fake. But, decide for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lnBoe6iKJg Quote
PenPlays Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 FAKE! Those are custom versions based off of Lego Universe concept art. Someone was selling them a while back. You can tell by the stickers on the legs and the quality of the plastic. Quote

just2good Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Yea, I know about the PWR armor stuff. It's just if we give the benefit of the doubt... Quote
Spider-Man Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 It just seems WAY too early for a 2014 figure to slip out, especially considering we don't even know any of the official details considering the sets. Quote
just2good Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 (edited) Yep, it's a fake. It's all around the Chinese knock-off called Ninja6. Thanks to this dude who messaged me his blog post, which was pretty detailed. I like the idea of the blog, exposing LEGO YouTubers, so I'll start to follow it. Let's just hope I don't show up on it. I didn't expect the figure to turn out to be real, but it stuns me that a Chinese knock-off company would actually make molds of parts that don't exist in LEGO to be more authentic to a never-used LEGO character model people like. Not really meaning that as praise for the company — it probably just goes to show how much technology has progressed in that even a company fixing to make a quick buck off gullible buyers can generate something this convincing without even having a physical item to base it on. Yea, I was 95% sure it was fake from the get-go. But, I have to say, that mold was really good. Quote
DraikNova Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I'm guessing we might hear about sets and storyline in late summer at the earliest. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 We saw pictures of this year's sets last October. My memory can not remember when the story was announced, but it was earlier than the sets were announced. Can I just say I am pumped for when that time comes. Quote

Maybe their "mission statement" is to expose YouTube hoaxes, but looking at it the majority was hating on The Brick Show for the sake of it. Now, I'm no fan of The Brick Show. In fact, I dislike video reviews in general. But insulting them over posting a Harlem Shake video (which, last I checked, EVERYONE has done, up to and including most of the Legoland Parks)? That has nothing to do with exposing fakes. Taking potshots at a Let's Play video? Pointless and petty. If someone makes a site that REALLY focuses on debunking false Lego rumors or hoaxes, I'd definitely follow it. But there's no way I'm going back to that ridiculous hate-shrine. But yeah, we're not likely to see real 2014 Ninjago news just yet. In fact, I think the first news we're likely to see about it might be news regarding the show, which I heard might be returning before the end of this year (possibly featuring next year's sets). Blacktron Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Please excuse my stupid question, but is it confirmed that Ninjago will continue in 2014 at all? Quote
just2good Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Please excuse my stupid question, but is it confirmed that Ninjago will continue in 2014 at all? Yes, by a LEGO representative on the LEGO message boards. Quote

Agreed. I don't quite grasp some of the hate on some of the YouTube review shows? Yeah Brickshow can be cheesy stupid and annoying at times. But they do do a fairly good job of giving a good look at the sets before purchase. As do many of the others video reviewers. And really that's all I ask. It's not like anyone is in any way obligated to click the link to watch anything. They are all simply hobbyists like the rest of us. People have fun in different ways. I am really glad that fig is fakes. That weird spiky look is just awful. I'm hoping the new stuff has a nice clean Asian themed look to the figs. Not some weird anime abomination. Quote
horizon Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 On the mold quality: if you look at the smartphone market Chinese smartphones from Chinese companies were quite bad copies up to 3 years ago. But last year and this year they catched up immensly and are capable of building smartphones that are on par with the big names but for a much lower price. If that Lego copy mold trend will continue like that the future copies might be really good. Quote

Aanchir Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) That ninja is a robot, if I remember right. Zane, innit? It is, though you can see a red-eyed robot we've never seen before reflected in his left eye, which suggests there may be evil robots/nindroids as well. Or at least some bad guy with a robot eye.
