Yeah, Brick Show claims to have all the sets in their Hover Hunter review

Are they at TRU? :O

-Sci

I have feeling the Hover hunter's blade spins when you push it. If this is the case, wow stupid Brickshow, 2/3rds of this vid is that guy just talking instead of actually showing the set and its functions. Aside from my rant, my ToysRus in Southern California has December/2014 sets. All except the Destructoid set.

Grabbed the last Kai Fighter from my local Toy's R us this afternoon. I saw someone walking away with a couple of Hover Hunters and another slightly larger set I couldn't make out. Really looking forward to finding a Thunder Raider.

And, images for the next three sets can be found here!

Now I know these sets have been discussed already, but when clicking on the link and going on "Ninjago 2014" there's a post that says:Nya LEGO Ninjago set för 2014. I don't know what to think of it, but it gets me very very excited!!! I try not to think much of it, but what does it mean?!?! Or has this already been discussed? That would drive me even crazier.

A Nya fig being included in a 2014 set has already been discussed to an extent since there has not been any official news, reveals or hints that LEGO will be releasing a Nya fig in 2014. Personally I have my doubts that they will release another Nya for a while especially since we now have an additional female character, Pixal. I could be wrong though, I love to have a new Nya fig.

Well, there has been a slight hint in that Nya gets an extremely distinctive and "official-looking" new costume in the trailer for the new season of the show. Most show-only alternate costumes for the main characters of the show are just variations on costumes worn by existing minifigures, and Nya and Sensei Wu almost never get new costumes except when the sets demand it (Sensei Wu only ever appeared in a costume other than his classic white robes in some of the 2011 mini-movies — his costume from the 2012/2013 sets has never appeared in the show).

One Russian site described 70726 Destructoid as "Vehicle for Samurai", but as we can see that seems to have been mere speculation or possibly a mistranslation. A car belonging to Nya appears in 70725 Nindroid MechDragon, but it's piloted by Sensei Garmadon and Lloyd, so there's the possibility that she WAS going to appear in that set and got cut for budgetary reasons. However, this would not explain her new costume in the TV show, as it's unlikely a Nya minifigure would get that far design-wise before being dropped from the minifigure lineup.

As it is, we aren't likely to see a new Nya minifigure before this summer. But hopefully there will be a summer wave that includes her.

Had some success today at Fred Meyers. Got the Kai Fighter, Thunder Raider and Ninjacopter. Hover Hunter and Overborg Attack were there as well, but neither had the dragon.

To be more specific I went to two Freddie's and only one had tags for the Dragon. That same store had no tags for Hover Hunter and Kai Fighter and was completely void of all "2014" stock. But the prices are what got my attention which has me greatly worried.

We all know that Toys R Us (TRU) overprices their sets, but when a certain set gets put online earlier than the rest of it's theme, the price is lower than their initial markup. In this case, the Nindroid Mechdragon was $79.99 (all prices mentioned will be in USD). When the set was taken down from TRU, Lego revealed the set on their Shop@Home (S@H) page at $89.99. This included the Hover Hunter at $11.99 and Ninjacopter at $59.99

So generally when budgeting for my purchases, I followed these prices. When I arrived at the first Fred Meyer's (Fred's) I visited today, there was nothing in stock, but tags for both the Ninjacopter and the Nindroid Mechdragon were on the shelves, both priced $10 less than S@H's price! Yes, the Dragon was $79.99, and the Ninjacopter was $49.99.

I would have thought of it as a mistake, but TRU made the same mistake as well. Upon visiting the second and final Fred's I planned on visiting, the tags for the Ninjacopter and the Hover Hunter were bot reduced as well, the former being the same as the previous Fred's and the Hover Hunter at $9.99. Once again, cheaper in price than S@H!

With Lego's recent changes with coupons at their Lego stores and their Black Friday events, I have this fear that Lego is beginning on a road that we all thought would never come. It will be interesting to see if there will be similar differences in other releases this upcoming year. A trip to Target and some Mom&Pop toy stores will definitely be needed in order to confirm this sad finding.

I stopped by the other Toys R us in my area and they were well stocked on all the new sets. I bought the Thunder Raider ($39.99) but passed on the Copter and Overborg Attack, since I didn't want to pay the mark up. I will likely buy them from Lego in December. I wasn't real impressed with the design of the new Kai figure, but his fighter is still a fun set. I still haven't built the Mech Dragon I got off Amazon. I've been waiting since I don't have anywhere to put it. I'm running into some major space issues.

I don't know if it was already mentioned but the Zane in Destructoid is different then the Zane in the NinjaCopter, one is battle damaged and the other isn't...

Didn't find the sets at the Fred Meyers I went to. I'll have to check some of the other Fred's around town.

I was going to say, obviously you found them, but I'm in Portland, OR, and I've found both Ninjago and Hobbit sets at my local Fred Meyer. Can corroborate with you that the prices seemed cheaper than I had anticipated.
